Im watching a true crime show called FBI files which profiled serial killer Larry Gene Bell. They had the actual recordings where he'd call and torment the victims families. He called to tell them where theyd find their childs dead body "Take highway 378 west to traffic circle. Turn left at white frame building. Six ft beyond, we're waiting. God chose us". For a second I wondered why i knew it word for word, its the sample at the end of this track.
Gladly! He's recently been Amanda Palmer's producer, at least for her new album (Not similar to his music at all, but excellent nonetheless, I think!) The big one I'm into is a girl who goes by St. Vincent- my particular favorites from her being Your Lips Are Red, The Apocalypse song, Marrow, and Cheerleader. Clinic is another good band At some point or another he's produced several popular bands as well, as seen on his Wiki page. Hope this helps!
Keep your eyes open for his new band, The Nighty Nite! (Granted it's very slowgoings, it seems) It's also a good idea to take a look into the bands he produces! I've found several good ones through him. Try running a quick google search on it when you've got the time!
The Thermals, Amanda Palmer, The Polyphonic Spree, Murder by Death, St. Vincent, Sarah Jaffe, The Walkmen, The Octopus Project, and many many others. Happy listening!
Heh, fan of Amanda since Dresden Dolls, maybe John's involvement explains why her last album feels darker than usual. Going to check out Clinic and St. Vincent. Thank you.
