I'm glad to catch a glimpse of Low Rider, Haven't seen him in a while. Do this in stages. Start with simple uncomplicated stairs. Plan for wrap-around stairs. Build in phases based on the availability of time and materials. Don't worry about how it looks to us. Think end-game. Consider a solar-powered AC unit for the interior, it's better to build in comfort.
Need to move the pile of poop away from the tree. It will start to increase in heat, even steaming and will kill the tree. Pickles is so cute and so sweet. Buy a big commercial fan and run an extension cord to power it inside the bin. At least it will ir uvate some air flow. Think I would just make wide steps in front. Eventually you may want to put one on the side or back where you come and go.
Since compost becomes soil, you should provide an air gap around the tree. A knowledgeable arborist told me trees breathe, not to plant them too deep, not to block air flow. Push the pile away into a ring?
The Tree will LOVE it! You don't have a fan for the bin Yet??? My guess for # of Steps is 6! Not steep but wide steps for easier bringing building materials and furniture into the bin.
I second this, you can get em for not too expensive and it can be used for other jobs in the future as well. Worth the expense for a cooler work environment lol.
Just me thinkingʻ about how I would do it. Do stairs on the side this way when you all start loading furniture you can back up to big part and unload. You can always build stairs later
Stairs the full length of the entrance- 36 inch stairs on both side of deck - railing around the deck with wire that way sitting on the deck your views are not blocked - wire railing there’s a company that will possibly give you all the wire and hardware ! Life Off Grid Elevated channel build a home with a deck with wire rails ! ❤❤❤ y’all are precious couple always watching
I would spray a rubber seal on the inside of the silo before doing any of the framing or flooring. That way you know that water, bugs, and mice can't get through. I would even spray the outside with what they call LineX. It's a coating that hears to the metal and seals it tight. Plus it will prevent the metal from rusting and the elements! It can be pricey but you would make that silo home longer. 50 to 100 years longer if you do it right. It would be a good investment for future grandkids!
Don’t block the view of the front door- steps straight out will feature the front door. If you want steps out the sides they could be added at a later time. No to rails blocking the front door. 💜
3 to 4 steps depending on how you build them (36 divided by 8.75) 7 1/4 plus 1.1/5 that's (rise plus tread thickness.) The railing made of 2 X 4 grooved with pig or cattle panels in groove looks great and you can see through it. God Bless from your Canadian Friend.
Suggestions Move the poop from tree. Pitch it about every 5 days (like tossing it in a compost bin). That will help to turn it into compost for garden and flower beds. Def steps with metal pipes for hand rail or decor. Painted black of course. Porch and both sides. Stagger steps along the entire deck. 4 sets... Doing great! So proud of yall.
Congratulations on your recent nuptials. ❤ I was one of your early doubters, but I'm so happy to see where you are today and how devoted you are to each other. On another point, you need to pull that poop away from the base of that tree. It will certainly kill it in the long run. You should load it in the bucket of your tractor and place it in an out of the way sunny spot. Alternate stacking the poop with greenery/vegetation to develop a healthy compost pile. In about six months to a year you will have 'natural black gold' to place around your homestead to grow grass, vegetables, or flowers. Blessings and wedded bliss to you both. 🎉❤🎉
Greg Judy regenerative grazer utuber sells a atv round bale mover and rollout feeder. Rolling out the bale spreads the seed, manure and organic matter to build soils. Perfect for future garden sights. Plant a cover crop, put a cover over it and burn holes to have a weedless garden. Run drip irrigation lines under the weed cover. The worms will go crazy and vegtables will kick asp.
THANKSGIVING MAN & LADY DANIELLE I know how you are feeling !!! I am past that point in life in working for free !!! Have done 5 jobs in a day from 430am to 12midnight or 1am!!! Just going from 1 to another job to make ends meet !!! Worked my tail off it seems !!! I remember having a weekend off and order PIZZA to the house Beginning my Night gown the whole weekend it was a BLESSING then for myself !!! 2 Weeks of vacation was up at the cabin fishing quilting doing things that I didn't get to do the past year I was YOUNGER then !!! In this day and age it is like what my Grandparents had on their farms !!! A HANDY MAN for them !!! Rent was free food was free his clothes was washed free !!! He had a roof over his head & a bed to sleep in !!! That might be what you are looking for now !!! Someone who lives on the land but has some of those things but not in your place at all then but helps with all of the stuff you need help with Jason !!!
Front stairs!!!! But really, whatever you love. Google images & go from there. I have an AWESOME idea: work on outside stuff only this summer (pool, stairs, deck, outdoor kitchen, property, "stobs", & animal stuff). Then when the heat calms down, work inside. Why not? It could be done. -always much love ~Mary & fam
I would def only do steps at the front. That way you can back the trucks up to the deck and off load supplies from the truck bed right onto the deck. You could always add the steps either side after you’re done with the build xx
Put stairs on the left and right and use the front part for a focal point with some rustic planters with flowers and fill in with small shrubs. I would have so many ideas for that spot. Stairs all around doesn’t sound good to me and would be a lot more upkeep.
My stair recommendation would be to defer the finished stairs for now and just build temporary construction steps for convenience during the build. Take more time and let the build speak to you then construct the finished stairs towards the end.
So good to see the dogs come out from under the deck❤ The animals are probably not taking the fruit because it is so cold. They are not use to cold anything. Loved seeing all of your animals🌻🥰 I saw the egg in the poop😂😂😂 front stairs only will look best with rails. Then you can add your landscaping on the sides. That’s my 2 cents😊
For the stairs, my thought is sides only. Then you can lift supplies and eventually furniture/appliances up the front from a truck bed or the tractor bucket…
I would , center stairs with black pipe rails and black cable keep it looking industrial, I also like the look of the wood on the door that’s there on my screen it looks like it’s a dark walnut
Steps all the way around, would look good. But I'd only do steps out out front due to cost and time. Have to thought about a ramp one side of the steps, to help get things in and out of your house, fridge, washing machine etc etc.
You have to stir your compost every so often as heat builds up. I would put it in an open area so you can get a tractor there and not worry about trees
Jason and Danielle Lambo made me laugh when he spit out the watermelon, it reminded of the commercial “ Mikey, who eat anything” well almost anything until he got to the pepper 😂
Lol Hank is half Breakfasts size ,he wanted to hitch a ride lol. I love Lambeauxs horns they are getting so big. I think the stairs in front would look nice with so.e flowers on each side. Maybe get a shop fan with a blower to cool it off in the grain bin. Ya'll have a great day and keep on keepin on ✌️ ❤❤
all around stairs and the corners just do a 45 degree cuts. Will look so much better and easier to get. Plus you can put some planted pots for Herb garden along the edge of some of the steps.
Could bolt some angle iron to each other inside & outside prior to cutting out door opening. Think I would have not cut off that extra upper piece of cattle panel you put next to pond where goats got out. That area might erode more & you might need to move that piece of cattle panel lower down.
Hi Danielle and Jason. I suggest the stairs all away around, that will look so nice. I love that Reba and Pickles are so comfy with you now, just like Lambeau. Have a great and safe day, Love you both💕💕
Piling something up against a tree stops the necessary air to tree and can kill it. That is why when you plant something they say to replant at same ground level.
I think it would look better for the stairs on the sides. This way you can sit at the end of the deck and look out. Also you could put a flower planter on the front.
Suggestion: use a vapor barrier directly on the grain bin floor/deck & run up the sides 4”, then use the bubbled/air pocket product that was suggested, then use insulated boards on top of that, then lay your 2x4’s directly on top of that.
Wraparound stairs, no doubt. Yes, more work, but it'll make the entrance to the grain bin..😂 Railings? No problem. Galvanized or wrought iron posts, 4 cables.😊 Love ya'll ❤️
I think you should build semi circle stairs coming off the front the full width of the porch. It would carry the shape of the bin so tie the porch and bin together.
In order for accomplish the work you gotta keep mixing it up And adding water to it to get it up to the right temperature It's not compost if you don't do it properly it's just poop and hay in a pile so why you're piling it against the tree
IMO, You can always add steps on the sides later if you decide but for now, save the money and your time and just do steps on the front. You may decide to put bushes/flowers or something else on sides later as you see more of how it's going to look.
I would do steps on each side, with a rail across the front that opens in the center to each side.. My reason is so when you bring up supplies you can back the truck and bring it straight in the door.
Frame the whole inside before cutting the grain bin. That way if you get better ideas on design you can change. Custom windows and doors acost 3 times the money. Make sure you know what electric you need before framing. Deck fencing would be nice to keep animals off the entrance area. Keeps drive by people from seeing what you are doing by not cutting the bin.
If you put the roll reflecting insulation on the grain Ben reflecting side to the bin it will cut the heat and cold my brother used the reflection insulation and then thick insulation over it his bills is very low cost now
Just do the stairs in the front for now and later on you can put them all around get the house built first then you can add to it as you go in my opinion it will be cool to have a pool with a deck around it and a roof over the pool maybe even screened in area for the pool cause you gonna want a nice place to cool off on them hot days just throwing a few ideas your way for later on lol keep on keeping on
Suggestion...on stairs...make the risers 5" apart...I know you are still young...but my first steps were higher risers cause I didn't think about future and having joint issues...so I changed mine to 5"and much better and easier on hip and knee joints...
Cutting the door and at least two windows, will help with breeze, heat, and noise. You know where a door is going to be. You just have to keep in mind the floor will be higher on the inside.
I'm glad to catch a glimpse of Low Rider, Haven't seen him in a while. Do this in stages. Start with simple uncomplicated stairs. Plan for wrap-around stairs. They do sell SOLAR powered AC units out there I know I have 1 !!!

Get a job site ac. You will use it in a shop someday Cooling your work site down will increase your comfort and productivity.
Steps in front only with beautiful landscaping on each side
Since compost becomes soil, you should provide an air gap around the tree. A knowledgeable arborist told me trees breathe, not to plant them too deep, not to block air flow. Push the pile away into a ring?
The Tree will LOVE it! You don't have a fan for the bin Yet??? My guess for # of Steps is 6! Not steep but wide steps for easier bringing building materials and furniture into the bin.
Can you get a portable air conditioner for inside the grain bin? We have one, a standing kind. You do have to vent the hot air to go out tho.
I like the full rounded look to mimic the grain barrel.... Hugs
Pull the compost pile off the trunk of the tree. It will cause above ground roots and hurt the tree.
steps just from the front with nice gardens on the side - less work, less cost and will be really pretty
Stairs the full length of the entrance- 36 inch stairs on both side of deck - railing around the deck with wire that way sitting on the deck your views are not blocked - wire railing there’s a company that will possibly give you all the wire and hardware ! Stairs in the front and a ramp on the side so it will be easier to get in the big heavy stuff appliances, furniture, etc.
Don’t block the view of the front door- steps straight out will feature the front door. If you want steps out the sides they could be added at a later time. No to rails blocking the front door. 💜

Hello, Danielle and Jason. Go slowly in this heat. Stairs just in front. Then plant on the sides. I love you guys. ❤❤❤
I would def only do steps at the front. That way you can back the trucks up to the deck and off load supplies from the truck bed right onto the deck. You could always add the steps either side after you’re done with the build xx
Love seeing the moo moo's. I vote for stairs all the way around.
Treat the pond before it gets any worse.

I think it will look nice with the stairs across the front. Like a royal staircase leading to front door.
For the stairs, my thought is sides only. Then you can lift supplies and eventually furniture/appliances up the front from a truck bed or the tractor bucket…
Yesss sides❤❤❤
Consider getting a IBC tote and cut open and use for a compost bin. Don’t forget you will need to turn the compost ever so often.
I would , center stairs with black pipe rails and black cable keep it looking industrial, I also like the look of the wood on the door that’s there on my screen it looks like it’s a dark walnut
Looks like you need a wheel bawl so you don't have to scoop up one shovel at a time to take it to the pile
WTF is a wheel bawl ???
And a pitch fork!
Lol..a wheel barrow..hahaha 😊❤😊

If I lived closer to you guys I would be there to help you guys. I have nothing but time on my hands for the next few months. Thanks for sharing.
Jason and Danielle Lambo made me laugh when he spit out the watermelon, it reminded of the commercial “ Mikey, who eat anything” well almost anything until he got to the pepper 😂

FYI, you can sharpen or replace the bolt cutter heads.
Hi Danielle and Jason. I suggest the stairs all away around, that will look so nice. I love that Reba and Pickles are so comfy with you now, just like Lambeau. Have a great and safe day, Love you both💕💕
I like the idea of the grand full stairs on all sides. With under lighting!
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. The compost is going to smother the roots of the tree. The tree will die.
❤HOLA DAMIELLEVY JASON SIEMPRE ME ENCANTAN SUS ANIMALITOS USTEDES SON FORMIDABLES❤

I would put the stairs off to the shortest side just in case someday you wanna board in the porch
The animals all said what the heck is this this ain’t no dang watermelon 😂😂😂😂😂
42" steps down each side next to the bin deck. That would allow you a nice sitting area towards the front.
Steps straight down from the porch right now. You can add later when it cools some. Do what you have to do and then add to it in cooler weather.
Low Rider with the watermelon was hilarious! How are the rest of the chickens doing?❤
Bad for the tree
Yeah most people buy hay in the summer so they're stocked up for the winter they don't try to buy hay in the winter
Good afternoon Jason & Danielle
Excited to see where you take it. 👍
Hey Crockers, I think put the steps out front for now. At least you'll be able to start work on the inside. You can add to the steps later.
One front step with railings on both sides of the front porch and around the deck.
I think half circle stairs would look awesome since your bin is round
Well Jason took all the rain that we were supposed to get here in north Texas!
In order for accomplish the work you gotta keep mixing it up And adding water to it to get it up to the right temperature It's not compost if you don't do it properly it's just poop and hay in a pile so why you're piling it against the tree
Side to side on front with landscaping and rails on sides. Use black rails
Steps just across the front. Make railing off of the big post.
Stairs the full length but it’s up to you because Danielle and Jason you will be the ones living there love ❤️ from Ohio Irene and god bless
Good to see you both I’m pumped ❤❤😂 I ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You could put stairs in front of building maybe a ramp one side for anyone whom may need really needs to use on.
I would start with just across the front with the stairs. You can add on more later.
You can always add steps on the front last of you choose!
put them all the way around. It will look awesome. Go all in. It needs to be beautiful.
I would put 4’ wide steps in front center so that you can see part of your handrails on either side. That would look the best in my opinion.😳
You are fixing to have lots of people coming to town. I say “Barn Raisin!”
I vote side stairs. You can back up to the front❤🎉
You guys need a slotted manure rake & a wheel barrow. Make your like much easier!
You need a gorilla cart for that poop movement. Pooper scoopers are pretty cheap to be another tool added to heavy shovels.
If you put the roll reflecting insulation on the grain Ben reflecting side to the bin it will cut the heat and cold my brother used the reflection insulation and then thick insulation over it his bills is very low cost now
Just pick a side and do that side to get materials up. After you can finish the other side and or front!!

Cutting the door and at least two windows, will help with breeze, heat, and noise. You know where a door is going to be. You just have to keep in mind the floor will be higher on the inside.
Yay !!! Greetings again...😊❤😊
Yes it will be worth it to wrap it around.
Do the steps in sections. Front 1st, then 1 side then the other side.
Good afternoon 🌞
A 12 ft section of stairs per side. Then, All the way around the front door.
Here in New Mexico, those big hay rolls run from $200 to $400
Stairs just in front. No sides. Add on later. Invest in a big ass fan for inside grain bin.
Go around the deck… I know more work, but will look better and be more functional!
Excited!! Low rider!! Too funny!!!😂
All the way around with a rail in center on front an on sides by the the deck on both sides.
Howdy 🤠 Crockers and animals I say do steps in front and a mini flower 🌸 garden on each side live you all
steps all the way around !! ❤
Steps each side, front have cable railing
