What can I say? Gundam is my all time favorite anime franchise after Macross and surpassed only by my absolute mack daddy favorite of all times Armored Trooper VOTOMS. Gundam is quite possibly the most literal definition of the word epic imaginable with Five Star Stories being even more so since it's literally Mobile Suit Gundam on Ultimate Warrior's steroid stash.
It's sunrise's doing. They force the companies who produce the blurays & DVDs in the west to match their prices in japan. (anime blurays & DVDs are more expensive there).
I've been putting off getting into Gundam for years. Now that pretty much all it is available and on Blu-ray I'm picking up everything. It's a confusing thing to do when you have only seen 0079. Thankfully you made this video. I've watched it 4 times now. I appreciate that you cover the physical releases while explaining each series. I'm curious though if there are other things like games, manga, novels, etc. That you feel is super important to fill in any parts of the stories? Maybe you could do a video covering stuff like that

G Gundam was my first Gundam I fully watched. By the time I got Cartoon Network..Wing was pretty much wrapped up. I only knew of Wing because of Wing Custom Zero iconic wings open pose. I just got the series and Endless Waltz. So looking forward to the series.
I admit that for despite being a UC fan, I still haven't watched 08th MS Team and Stardust Memory yet. But I already watched War in the Pocket, the feels 😭
I'm collecting the Anime Limited Collector's Editions of Gundam (UK). We don't have as much as the US but they look really, really nice on the shelf :D Got a pre-order for Gundam Wing Part 1&2 + Endless Waltz and Gundam 0083 pre-order just released. Gundam is great!

Also, right now I am also finishing watching 0083. One question, I wonder why ZZ and Victory have not received dubs? Someone told me a few months ago that there was not a US demand for them. It just seems strange that IGLOO, ZZ, and Victory are the only UC Series not dubbed. Especially since ZZ is supposed to be a direct sequel to Zeta? Thoughts Flip and thanks for all of the content!

Zeta Gundam is the best one in my opinion. But it's hard to recommend because the movie trilogy that precedes it isn't as good, but necessary. Everything the original creator, Yoshiyuki Tomino did after Char's Counterattack, is passable.
impressive collection. i just have 0083 dvd so far. i plan to build my collection up overtime. i'm partial to the UC timeline. the original 3 shows (MSG, Zeta and ZZ) are good as the originals but they're just abit too old 4 me. i prefer everything after Char's Counterattack. and i need my gundam shows dubbed in english. The 2 Movies (CCA, F91), The OAVs (0080,0083,08th Team) and the newer UC shows (Origin, Unicorn, NT) are the best. I like thunderbolt but i think the overuse of jazz was a mistake. and i'm awaiting the new hathaway movies. cool vid.
Love the collection. I recently found some more Gundam dvds in a box when I was cleaning. I was overjoyed because I thought I lost them during a move. What do you recommend bluray or dvds because I don't want double on my shelf. All my gundam are dvds, except for iron blood. I saw the preview of gundam seed on rightstuf and it looked amazing. That's why I'm torn in getting bluray of gundam even though I know they will look amazing.
First 20 episodes has a lot of goofy forced comedy scenes in it. They make a character from zeta like clown in double zeta. but ep 21 onwards is okay. Protagonist is a likable character. Still recommended if you already finish Zeta.

you are missing so much. 0083: Stardust Memory is the best Gundam from the '90s era of the franchise. 08th team comes second.

Definitely get the blurays if you can, I upgraded from my old DVD sets and the quality is amazing! They also come with a lot of newer and cool extras

Is the original trilogy a re-edit of the original show or is it the original show but re-done from the ground up?
The trilogy is a condensed version of the tv show. It has updated animation and some tweaks to the story, my opinion the movies are better
