Rickies are soo cool looking but I hate the necks. I had a Godin Dorchester before the pandemic and it had a similar look, but very smooth playing. These Dugesenbergs look cool; been eyeing them for a bit.
I had late 90s Japanese Gretsch Duo Jet. It was a gorgeous guitar but too heavy, sluggish neck, and those awful screw in strap buttons.
This looks like a contender for surf and rockabilly use.
Mason, thank you for watching and for the comment. The Double Cat is unique in that it has its own voice and vibe. In my opinion Duesenberg wasn't trying to make the guitar like a Gibson and definitely not like a Fender. I also think they might have paid homage to Rickenbacker but at the same time making it their own. Aside from the resemblance nothing else about the Double Cat is like a Rickenbacker. I own a Rickenbacker 360 in Fire Glow Red. Very odd guitar, sounds great but not something I play very much. I have a Gretsch Duo Jet which I put TV Jones pickups in (Classic Plus in the bridge and Classic in the neck). The guitar sounds great but I 100% agree with you, very heavy and the screw strap buttons are not ideal.
You said: " A unique instrument with its own voice." So why did you change anything on a perfect unique guitar? If you want a Rick or a Gretsch, why don't buy these.
