These are my favorite GI Joes of all time. In the GI Joe world, everyone sees this as the weirdest line of all time... from the strangest head sculpt, inaccuracies and strange colors and accessories that make no sense...but that is the real charm!
These were a great line of figures despite the reuse of parts by Hasbro to create them. It was just cool to see figures based on Street Fighter II. Great stuff by you 2 again.
I get the recycling of molds... But it's like you pointed out with Sgt Slaughter and Quick Kick, they could have at least given the line a little more thought and used body parts that actually made sense for the characters.
chun li was the first figure i got in this set & it took 5 years to complete when i randomly found honda in a toy store amongst gi joe figures after the street fighter 2 craze had died down
@@Pegwarmers that was the only time i ever saw honda. no friends had the figure either, we used to think it never existed. i had all the figures & vehicles by christmas 95 & then one day in 99 found honda & i freaked out
Guys when I was a kid I loved wrestling but the wrestling figures had almost no articulation but G.I. Joe figures were great for fighting so I would pretend that the G.I. Joe’s were my favorite WWF and NWA wrestlers and then have them wrestle in the Hasbro WWF ring . when I saw these being released I thought well I can actually have them fight and not pretend to be other characters actually fight as the correct characters . I did not know how many G.I. Joe parts were reappropriated for this street fighter line I thought they were all new, but then when you started dropped real knowledge , when you showed Balrog I immediately saw that was big boa was used. Thank you for this awesome video it is much more in depth than anyone else I’ve seen on the Internet for this line , and I have learned a good deal from it . I will be sure to keep an eye out for your future titles. Truly thank you for these work.
@@Pegwarmers i bought it off ebay for 20$ but it had blue face paint and a red and white skirt it was based of the live action movie if you ever heard or owned it
I have tons of nostalgia for this line, I got the entire wave when it was being clearanced for Christmas one year, not so much because of my already giant Joe collection but me and my older brother played the game constantly, we also ended up getting the mortal combat line later on
I was out of GI JOE long before Street Fighter came along, but I loved the characters as a teenager and as an adult collector was really happy to add them to my growing Joe collection...Great review
Do you know what kind of value these hold open box, as I would like to get them just for display or to actually play with . I’m sure mint on card they’re pretty expensive but I would like to find some if they are at a reasonable price already opened. Were any of them especially where is there for much more expensive to obtain now.
I love hated this toyline. I loved owning street fighter figures. I hated they were joe re-uses , even the vehicles. In ireland these hit bargain bins fast ! Brilliant video guys!
Yeah, I always tried to imagine the line with just a little bigger tooling budget. If every figure was new like Sagat, it could have been incredible. Thanks for watching.
I remember when this line came out. I really liked playing Street Fighter but I passed up on buying any of these figures. The biggest problem for me was the cost. In my area, these figures were twice the price of the Battle Corps and Ninja Force figures. They were around $8 each versus $4. I found a Ken figure in great condition for the same price brand new a few months back. I definitely appreciate this line of GI Joes more since I have one of them.
Is there a reason why Cammy was (apparently) never made? I'm guessing it would have had something to do with Kylie Minogue. I used to play with her in the game exclusively and wanted to do a collection only because of Cammy. She is pictured on the package of their fortress, but apparently it was canceled. I feel ripped off 😤
I don't think the Movie Fighters sold that well (lots of bargain bin sales) so they just never produced all the characters. Then didn't even release the movie edition Ryu.
You saw a picture of the Cammy figure in 1993? o.o That would be so wild to find out she was in the game because she was a toy first! Cammy White even has one of the most military backgrounds among the Street Fighters!
@mikejonesnoreally there's no way I didn't. I don't think I would have invented that in my head. I wouldn't have started to buy those without her since Cammy was the only reason I played that game. And I haven't looked at the toy line since. I almost forgot that I had gotten that line. It was a GI Joe kind of thing with the Shadoloo play set that came with the set. My neighbor helped me put that together. It came out after the movie. The WWF toy line was dead and Power Rangers was the thing, which I never collected. It was like a prototype. I think that's the technical name of what I saw
That really bad artwork on the back of the cards was featured prominently in a Gamepro SFII strategy guide that covered World Warrior and Champion Edition.
I've seen at least two people on other sites say they used Ken along with their regular Joes, but they'd just repurpose him as their own made up Cobra ninja.

It's unclear of they look for those molds and didn't have them anymore at that point.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Our video on the Street Fighter Movie figures is out. We will have one on the Mortal Kombat figures next month.
i had an e honda but the kick spring was broken
I don't think I've ever seen one where the kick worked.

You were very lucky to have the full line! I had 4 of the Street Fighters as a kid.
One of if not the most in depth SF Joe figure review ive seen to date. Awesome job guys.
Thanks! We tired hard to cover it as best we could.

i see them on e-bay a lot and they get mistaken for G.I. JOE knockoffs so they are usually pretty cheap. xD
I had Blanka as a kid
He's cool!
I’m a Big Ryan fan.

I was born too late for these, but I suddenly want the Vega one, although it stinks that they didn't include his claw. XD
You need a claw from Chun Li for him.

A G.I. Joe Mario would be rad.

Yeah, that makes sense. I used to pretend that Ryu was Quick Kick in a training gear.
They had some more based off the movie
Review coming soon.
They were trash then and they’re trash now. That’s coming from a joe fan and a sf fan who owned 4 of these exact figures
