    If you were to choose between vodaphone and virgin which provider would be better? Currently getting the 910mb plan with wifi 6 booster and with power router would i be better upgrading to the pro 2 plan for £6 more a month for the wifi 6E?

    • @broadbandsavvy
      @broadbandsavvy  3 місяці тому

      That plan should be pretty good, if you've found the router offers good performance. You could upgrade for better WiFi and the other perks of Pro II. Virgin is a bit risky with their customer service at the moment, will also be a bit of a process to set up.

    Which one of the EE packages who is living on their own and looking for good wifi speed for WFH, Internet browsing etc. Also would you recommend the Smart Hybrid Connect device or the WiFi enhancer that EE recommend?

    • @broadbandsavvy
      @broadbandsavvy  3 місяці тому +1

      Their 150 Mbps plan should be plenty unless you often need to download large files and want to make this faster. Smart Hybrid Connect probably isn't worth it unless you want to be absolutely sure you never go offline. The WiFi enhancer can be worth it if you have a large house and sometimes struggle with signal, but you can also buy a separate mesh system if you want to improve your signal.

      @broadbandsavvy  3 місяці тому

      Sure, their 500 or 900 Mbps plans should be plenty of bandwidth.

    Sadly, it's EE that own BT now. (according to the person I spoke with at BT CS afew days ago) Thanks for the review, I'm currently debating whether to move from my current provider, Plusnet over to EE/BT.

    • @broadbandsavvy
      @broadbandsavvy  4 місяці тому +2

      BT Group Plc is the listed company, which also owns EE. You may already know this, but they own Plusnet as well.

      @@broadbandsavvy Not doubting you, but seems odd that one of BT's technical team would tell me EE own BT now. (Not the BT Business section though)

    Do you have any recommendations for full fibre for one person? Its for work and gaming, I'm looking for something with no more than 100-200mbs.😸

    • @broadbandsavvy
      @broadbandsavvy  4 місяці тому +1

      If you need good WiFi, EE might be worth it for their router. Otherwise Plusnet is a good choice, or Community Fibre or Hyperoptic if you live in an area with coverage (probably Greater London or another city centre).

    I'm really not convinced mobile broadband is fit for purpose at the moment. My experience with both Vodafone and 3 were very poor DL speeds during peak times were so poor that it was all but useless.

      It works great for most people, the only downside is your ping is 35ms instead of 5ms.
