How do I adequately comment in a way that acknowledges all that has happened from the beginning of "The North Branch?" I found Nate and Tiny Hilltop several years ago and quietly cheered him along. Then you joined him part-time for a while, and now you are a full- time, very successful homesteader. Through the ups and downs, trials and successes, the constant commitment has prevailed! Your family is amazing. I appreciate how y'all have swung the pendulum back to living off - no - with the land.
Wow Evan, fantastic video! Great seeing your beautiful mother and your brother helping with the harvest from the garden. Your grapes made my mouth water! lol Cheers!
Loved seeing your mom enjoying herself harvesting vegetables with her sons. Looked like you got a lot preserved - NICE. And I forgot about those old grape vines, LOL. The farm has changed so much, I almost didn't recognize that area!
Fun and Fruitful video.Enjoyed seeing your Mother there and your animals.Appears most of your crops had good to excellent results? Apples and Squash looked great.Ive always struggled with Brussel Sprouts in Minnesota(brassicas in general) pests and temps...👍🏽☮🇺🇸
Thanks! I am pleased with how most crops turned out this year. Kind of gave up on lettuce as it was so hot all summer. Brussels are the only brassica we have had good luck with. I have found it gets too hot for the broccoli to head. But, I cant plant it earlier because it is still too cold.
Absolutely amazing to see! You've created a slice of pure heaven on earth. It must be so rewarding to harvest all this that you planted yourself. The sheep are adorable and seem very friendly and curious towards you now. Your pup trying to steal their snack put a huge smile on my face haha it's wonderful to see your place thriving!
I was just imagining the cost of your harvest in the stores just now and it must be huge. A single bell pepper in U.K. is currently £0.55 which equates to $0.68 so just that haul is worth quite a few dollars. Incidentally, flat packed freezer items are easier to store and quicker to defrost.
I feel like it is more expensive than that where I am located, and they wouldn't be anywhere near the quality. It is a great hedge against inflation and potential supply chain issues. and we are huge fans of freezing haha it is so much easier than canning. The biggest down side is using a lot of plastic bags, but most of the stuff we freeze in jars. That didn't make it in this video
The wild flowers are so pretty. The blue ones are bachelor buttons. I havent seen one in years. They used to grow along the river bank when i was a child and went fishing with my dad.
I'm totally envious! It looks beautiful! I'm going to make a wild guess here that it's your Mama in the garden with you. Lovely video and thank you for sharing. From a Chezhead in zone 4a.
Thank you, Charlene 😊 I am harvesting the corn and sunflowers for chicken feed currently so they will be enjoying garden food all winter hopefully haha
Very nice sharing 👍

Bountiful harvest. Such a sweet visit from your Mom. Wish I could use a knife as well as she does.
