  • How To ?? Cut most Threads on a Manual Lathe.
Back with a similar part as the previous video. But, this time using 1020 grade Mild Steel.
A little more forgiving of a material for Cutting Threads, unfortunately not as nice a material to work with such as Stainless Steel or Medium to High Tensile Steels.
IF you have any questions, let me know in the comments 👍

That's pretty good results Peter. Especially the measurement over that length. Thanks for sharing. Aaron.

      Hey Aaron.
I was actually a little surprised by the amount minimal taper in the bar from Tailstock to Chuck.
Not that it really matters too much with Threads.
But' it's good to know the Lathe is running fairly straight.
Thanks for taking the time to watch 👍

Make the part from threaded rod. Save your client a fortune.

The part could possibly be made with All Thread.
But the customer wanted a Shaft size of 25.00 mm with a M22 Thread.
I always offer a customer alternatives for what they might need.
But this is what the customer wanted.
I did offer to machine a 25.00 mm Shaft with a Thread that could except the M22 Thread into it.
But, the part that was required needed to 1 piece 👍
