MY LAWN IS IMPROVING! - Week 2.5

- So it's a little funny with the week numbers but it's just the time I managed to get things sorted and filmed.. So this is around 2.5 weeks since I got back into a routine on the lawn after 6 months of horrendous weather then 6 weeks of lawn renovations (mixed in with many many days of horrendous weather), and then catching up 7 days a week...
Anyway.. In this video I apply my Emerald Green.
You can already see things are beginning to improve with the raised mower height and fertiliser thats been added..
In todays video I apply some of my Emerald Green lawn tonic (lawnright.co.uk/shop) to really give it a boost.
I have plans for the next 2 videos after this to take it to the next level also, so keep your eyes peeled for those to start seeing deeper Green!
Normal watering on established Grass is about 1 to 2 inches a week (applied early mornings).. Simply pop an empty tuna can where you are watering and let it full up about halfway.. then repeat this another 2 to 3 times each week.
I actually have a dedicated watering video here: • 3 Phases To Watering N...
If you don't want to water as much you can apply my Emerald Green lawnright.co.uk/emerald-green
The following tools are what I personally use during my lawn renovations:
I use a Wolf Garten hand scarifying rake and also a compost spreader.
You can get the rake head here: amzn.to/3iReFMN and handle here: amzn.to/3tV9Jgr (these come with a 10-year warranty)
You can get the compost spreader here: www.gardenimpo.... or available here on Amazon: amzn.to/4aJoKUX
Compost used for topdressing:

My lawn is looking amazing this year ( even with the lack of sun ) thanks to you…. Cheers shaun 👏
Fantastic!
I followed your instructions so far and I used the A1 spring Summer at 35mg/sqm initially the grass went a little grey and I was concerned... fast forward to this week and it looks mint! Friends and neighbours are asking for help now feel like a champion, emerald green has been purchased so I should see similar results, cutting twice a week next week looks like 20+ degree of weather so pleenty of water aswell. Keep up the good work. Love your content 🎉
Ahh thanks! Grey can sometimes indicate heat stress believe it or not.. It probably just felt overloaded.. Great results tho an thanks for the purchase 😊👍
Some parts Southern Alberta and the rockies woke up to snow, seriously no BS. It was zero in my area this morning. Maybe one day I will use the new mower 😢 😆. If that's the worst thing I'll take it.
Omg! One crazy year for weather that's for sure.. Hopefully you can get the mower out soon
I have a large lawn at the rear and three smaller ones to the front of the property. Did a full lawn regeneration three years ago on the rear and new turf on the front lawns the year after due to drive alterations. I don’t cut too short and treat on a regular basis and at the moment very pleased with the look of the lawn except for the dreaded annual Meadow grass. All my lawns are full and this is the worst year ever. Any suggestions
Hi it's been a wet one for sure which has weakened grass considerably and allowed weeds and weed grasses in. A scarify will thin it out somewhat and you could overseed it, but would need a lot of watering. Other than that I you've got a verticutter you could use it monthly to weaken the plant
Cute spaniel ❤ we have a 9 month old cocker too which is currently digging holes and leaving wee burns!! 😢
Ours in now 1 year old and she's calmed down quite a bit
Looking great, it’s really coming along nicely. Is that Emerald Green an iron supplement? I don’t think we can get it in the States.
Thanks.. It contains a very small amount of iron but mainly it's a wetting agent and some other products
Whats best fertiliser to use for beginners and possibly not the 4 in 1 I used it around a month ago and my grass looked really well for about 2 weeks now it's just going yellow and thinning out I used 4 in 1 evergreen granules I belive
Hi if you look for on that lasts for 3 months it's usually a polymer coated shell around it so it'll release slowly without risks of burning the lawn... Look for some that say no scorching or no burning . Not sure what happened with the 4in 1
I been watching your awesome videos
Going to mine step by step
With lots and lots extra and extra water.
Thank you so much for sharing !!!
Kind regards Michaela
Ahh you're most welcome. Here to help 😊
I've followed your videos since my first renovation, I've put on A1 fertilizer, seaweed, emerald green and watered 3x a day for 6 weeks on setting 4( use to mow on 1😂. I mow every 3 days. Its a lovely colour green and thickened up a treat. There are a few white blades of grass in the lawn, the roots of them are green. Any idea why this please? Loving having a decent lawn at last🙂
Thoughts on slug pellets? Never used them but somethings had my hostas and strawberries 😭
Haven't used them myself but many do 🤔🤔
why ya some Freddie star 🤣🤣
🤣🤣. What a legend LOL
Hi Shaun, what’s the video called you mentioned unpacking and building the sprayer please ? Or when was it posted I can seem to find it. Many thanks
Hi here it is ua-cam.com/video/ocfcYMYoMnU/v-deo.html the oregon backpack sprayer 😊
I’ve been doing my own lawn renovation and care and bought some grass patch fixer but it seems it was full of meadow grass seeds 😢 so I’ve got to do it all again next year now
😭😭😭
Notice you’ve got a young pooch, does the products you use not affect him at all? Or you get a specific one that’s didn’t affect pets
Hi most things are pet friendly and safe to use the lawn once dry or watered in so we keep them off or away depending what it is
Hi Shaun, our lawn of 30 years was ruined over winter. Leatherjackets, more weeds than grass and the 6 months of rain finished it off. We started to watch your videos about lawn renovation and you have helped us soo much. Can’t thank you enough. We dug out the dandelions then scarified and applied seed and top soil 11 days ago and have kept on top of the watering and it’s coming through very nicely. The old grass is getting quite long with not mowing. When would you suggest we do our first mow of the lawn? Should we wait 6 weeks? Any advice would be much appreciated 😊
Hi and many thanks 😊😊. Once most of the new stuff is coming through go for it so next week or 2 is fine... Just go steady when turning the mower
@LawnRight will do Shaun. Thanks again we really really love your videos and you've helped us so much 😁
That's some impressive water pressure you have there Shaun
It's not too shabby 😊
What became of the battery-powered sprayer you had? ( those shorts are SO hot)
Still got it and it'll make an appearance in the next video 😊👍
Adorable doggo at 2:15! 🥰
TILLY 😊😊
Come on matey! 30ml X 7 (30ml X 70 is a different calculation) is 210ml not 2.1l. If adults are this bad what chance do the kids have?
Interesting Shaun (Sean?) chose not to reply to your comment 🤣
Lol. My lawns 70sq metres... So.. Product calculation is 4ml x 70sq metres which is 280ml product..... Water is 30ml per sq metre. So at 70 sq metres is 2.1 litres of water. I think the way I working it out in my head on camera is enough to confuse anyone 🤣🤣🤣🤣.. "it's the way I tell 'em" lol
@@LawnRight water is 30ml per sq/m. Now it makes sense.
@@LawnRight 🤣
@@markchester7584 trust me it's not you its me.. I'm always getting the Mrs confused too 🤣
Great video Shaun, isn't it awkward when you mow your lawn at the same time as your neighbour😂
Ha ha lol.. They're great neighbours really are. It's even better when we are parallel to each other and seeing who can mow fastest 🤣🤣
Great video as always M8, what height are you cutting at. I've been cutting my lawn at 30mm since spring but now it's hopefully warming up I'll maybe go up to 40mm. Mines a general mixed seed species lawn.
Hi and thanks.. Currently about 40 to 45 mm
@@LawnRight nice one cheers.
Another great video!
Ever though about investing in a battery backpack sprayer? I just picked one up and it's an absolute game changer!
Hi yes 😊. I have one.. Have used it a bit last year and it's in one or 2 videos.. It will be making a reappearance in the next video 🤞🤞😊😊
I'm looking to get a battery sprayer which one did you get 👍
@@bahiaharjinder I ended up going with an Einhell one, very happy with it so far.
@@bahiaharjinder it's a flowzone sprayer 👍
@@Thimeri0n i was looking to get the same one lol although from what i can see the nozzle isn't interchangeable like most professionals ones doesn't look it needs it as you can adjust just by turning the end brass end bit to suit a weedkiller spray i. e mist spray or for applying iron sulphate (like a heavy wide spray) is this the way you use it any help is most appreciated
Hi shaun, great job,i noticed you switched the camera around to have the sun behind the stripes to really show them off, what mower did you use for striping?i have the stihl rm 655 rs roller mower which leaves a nice stripe but i do think cylinder would be better
Hi Eddie.. Yeah gotta show off the stripes. 😊😊. My. Striping mower is a really old swordsman mower.. It's the weight that helps great the stripes.. I'm getting ready to upgrade now tho
What will you go for?I have been looking at the Allett Kensington 20,ideally I would like the Allett Stirling as I have the ego batteries but it's sooo expensive, crazy money for a walk behind mower
Hi Shaun, I put down some A1, 3 in 1 fertiliser (Moss, weed and fertiliser). How often should I put fertiliser down was thinking once again this year towards middle of August?
Hi it depends on the NPK values really but if it's got moss control in it (iron) maybe wait till end of August just dipping into september to control any initial moss and it's also one last blast of the weeds
@@LawnRight Cheers
Where I live in europe, it is illegal to make noise and cut the grass on Sunday.
😮😮😮👀👀👀
I live in Germany, and the ban on making noise is not limited to Sunday. It includes all federal holidays and the quiet time during the day, usually 1200 to 1400.
