Been reading Gen. For the better part of 3 months ..keep going back and seeing the deeper meaning . God Grace and purpose..not thru the righteous, but the stiffnecked. Amazing
You have no idea what you have done... Bless this man who was the one who spoke this word that I have been missing in my walk with my father in heaven.. This mans name has been written in the book of life on this day and any and all humans he has helped become saved and know our lord Jesus Christ has have there name written in the lambs book on this day! I say amen and amen!!
Tamar saved the entire family by risking her life to make sure that Judah's lineage continues. By fulfilling her providential mission, she succeeded in giving birth to Judah's twin sons, the ancestors to Jesus, making it possible for Jesus to be born centuries later. She is truly a Biblical heroine and worthy to be in Jesus' lineage.
Her husband died before giving her children. It was customary that the dead husband's brother should fulfill the duty to give her children, but the brother wouldn't do it either. She didn't cheat on her husband.
Thank you for explaining these difficult chapters. I have not heard anyone come across so clearly, they usually side-step the indecent parts. It's important to know exactly what is happening for greater understanding of the Word. Thank you 🙏
Tamar knew she had to keep the bloodline pure, Judah having married outwith his tribe, therefore the sons were the problem, hence God killed them. When Judah's wife died and Shelah had come of age, Tamar knew what she had to do. Tamar must have been a pure bloodline. Just like Noah, who was righteous in his generation, Judah actually tells us Tamar was righteous also, more so than himself who had not kept his generation pure.
Stopped to listen because this is such a scandalous passage. Would like to suggest that Tamar is a bit player, that they main story is Judah's sin (envy and hatred like Cain toward Abel) and his repentance. He gave his Dad a bloody coat and God gave him 2 bloody coats and then two sons that showed publicly what he was. By this means he is broken and becomes the man who pleads to the prince of Egypt for his brother, for love of his father, and love was born again. If interested, I have posted on youtube and facebook a song called The Bloody Coat. It's free. Roger Snow Empire, Al

How is an adulterer a heroine?
