Honestly the brass in this musical is so important. Especially in the opening song when you’re at Addams. When they stab on the 3 1/2 beat of the bar in the last chorus. Insane!
reminds me of my band class. we've got 4 percussionists, 3 trumpets (who all play second or third parts), a flute and an alto sax. we play all our concerts with the other (much bigger) band class so the band director has to sing so many parts in class
3:30 so one day in rehearsal our Fester busts out with “was I supposed to make this rhyme?” as the punchline, the director says keep it *and it never stops being funny*
We're doing this musical and I work backstage and it's so amazing and underrated, I love this show. Unfortunately, it's gotten postponed due to COVID-19 and I hope we actually get to do the shows, our cast, crew, directors, and just this show in general deserve it, they've put so much hard work into it. Full disclosure!
Hey everyone! I didn't see all these replies until just now, lol The performance was eventually canceled about a week later. Everyone was super bummed, especially since we were just DAYS away from our first show. That was my sophomore year of high school, and thankfully, we were able to have musicals my junior and senior year (Freaky Friday and 9 to 5. 9 to 5 was AMAZING). I got to work with a lot of the same people in those following shows, and whenever we talked about the Addams Family, we always called it the greatest show that never was, lol. I would have really liked to perform it outside of rehearsals, but in a way, that makes it all the more special. Something I have in common with just a few dozen people. But maybe that's just me romanticizing things 😅 Anyway. I've said a lot more than I've needed to. But I'm glad to find some other people who like this show. It is severely underrated
I just keep coming back for the "just be respectable, don't make an odd remark" "keep undetectable our passion for the dark" "and then it's paradise right here in central park"
This has to be one of my favorite songs!! People preforming it, don’t stress the vocals, it’s going to be easy to get together!! I’m a caveman ancestor and I found that this song ended up being hard at the beginning but easy at the end. You’ve got this!!
i play wednesday in my school production rn and lowkey i love doing the “keep undetectable our passion for the dark ………..and then it’s paradise right here in central park”
My highschool did this musical 5 years ago and on one of the nights we perfomed, the guy who played fester said "was Donald Trump right for presidency?"

This was such a fun musical to do. I was an ancestor in this musical and our Lucas and Wednesday had the prettiest harmony together at the “and then it’s paradise right here in Central Park” this will probably be my second favorite show I’ve ever done :)
That’s one of my favorite songs from The Addams Family musical my favorite song from The Addams Family musical is Full Disclosure or Move Toward the Darkness
If the Audio Engineer's goal was to have Wednesday's voice to be so shrill that it causes people agony in their ears, he succeeded. Otherwise, he needs to got back to school to learn how to adjust microphones.
My 30+ years of experience in Audio Engineering dictate that they way they EQd her microphone, is audience abuse. You can put highs in her voice without breaking the ear drums of the listener. Agree to disagree.
Tony Schmidt This is a soundboard recording from one of the national tours that was made specifically for the licensing company, so it was being mixed for FOH and not a separate mix for the recording
I love the song but absolutely hate this cast we need Carolee back what is up with Alice sounding angry all the time? Waiting is no longer a shocking song. I hate Heidi in this role seriously this is just bad and Lucas sounds so flat.
You don’t realize how important the horns are in the first 30 seconds until you do a workshop with a pit consisting of 2 pianos & a percussionist
Lianna Pfister we’ve got no horns and we’re fine.
Honestly the brass in this musical is so important. Especially in the opening song when you’re at Addams. When they stab on the 3 1/2 beat of the bar in the last chorus. Insane!
We only had a piano, a synthesizer, a bass and percussion in the production I was in
reminds me of my band class. we've got 4 percussionists, 3 trumpets (who all play second or third parts), a flute and an alto sax. we play all our concerts with the other (much bigger) band class so the band director has to sing so many parts in class

I doubt our Fester would mind if you used it...I don’t think too many of our adlibs are original ideas
We used “ are we ever going to get this theatre clean”
Our production has "Was impeachment right for the Trump regime?"
I’m Fester and we’re using “Was Corona right for Italy?”
Marcus Ho my school used was Donald Trump right for the presidency
This is such a great and underrated musical.
it really is and it’s fun to be in too!
i’m doing it this yr for my school and i’m so glad i got introduced to it bc it’s so good
Our Fester ended with "will prince Charles ever be queen"
Looks like he was right
@@laneplain107 HAHA OH SHIT
ours says "am I sexier than mr clean?"
@@kinginyellow9278 🤣that's brilliant!
@@kinginyellow9278 Ours is close to that but instead its mr bean

Did you do it?
that’s a good question
Did you end up doing it?
I’m really curious what happened with this. Our into the woods performance got postponed and then canceled
Hey everyone! I didn't see all these replies until just now, lol

Holy heck, I just watched this musical and it was amazing, this is by far one of the best songs.
My favourite parts are A: Lucas' bit, B: The Ending C: The- Nevermind, I like all of it.

Was Donald trump right for the presidency? We actually used that one at one of our performances. 😂
We’re using, ‘were we alright in quarantine?’
We did the same thing for ours
For a second I thought this comment was from today lol 😭 Trump just got re elected
My highschool did this musical 5 years ago and on one of the nights we perfomed, the guy who played fester said "was Donald Trump right for presidency?"
Im doing this musical, i play fester i re-wrote it to say, "Were those rich guys right for the Submarine?"
Wish i could see Carrie Hope Fletcher performing this
Maia Smithy I saw her on Friday and she (and the entire show for that matter) was incredible!!! I loved it! :)

Not Human, Wednesday is 18, she should not sound like that in the musical. This is not the movie.
The mixing is absolutely awful in this lol, it's upsetting
This is a live performance tho?
