Rod really is a joyous drummer to watch, but it also showcases Jordan's orchestration and keyboard skills... It's amazing to think there's only two people playing here!!
Agreed! Back then it was more simple. Before 9/11 and all the Wokeness stuff and the WEF take over (and Covid). The only thing i would regret would be The LoTR movies. But its a price i can pay to stay in those years.
Thanks for the upload, man. It's a joy to watch 2 such amazing musicians completely in their element like this. And on the flip side of this comment, fuck, the audio and video being out of sinc from the get go really sucks.
I love the way that You challenge each other and you could see the joy in your faces it kind of reminds me how Keith Emerson challenge when performing pictures at an exhibition and rob your drumming Is through the roof and of course Jordan the story that warms my heart the most is how he was inspired by the late Keith Emerson your buddy Jimmy
Not at all, all sounds are played in real time, whether it be actual notes, samples or arpeggiator. There are quite a few examples in his Keyboard Wizardry video
Notice how the drummer happily took risks and let his phrasing happen without worry of being perfect. Notice how the keyboardist comped behind the solo with absolute tempo keeping and no matter what metric modulation he was faced with he kept his vamping steady. Great drummers aren't just time keepers. Great musicians all have timing and so what does that mean for a great drummer? That great drummer can now be the rhythmic feature of that group and song and not just the band members glorified metronome. Guitarists, keyboardists and even so gets be warned! Work on your time keeping and stop leaning on the drummer. The drummer can then breath in your music as a rhythmic aspect and not just a tempo indicator
Rod is such a monster player! Crazy dynamics, great tuning, precision and amazing volume. And that heavenly china!

Can we go back to this era and stay there forever?

Stunning performance! They're such great musicians and we don't need to write so much. Watching and enjoying are enough

21 anos depois revendo ...que satisfação
Amazing Rod...as always! ..also Jordan!
Rudess back there performing keyboard acrobatics and finger wizardry
I think Rod Morgenstein plays similarly and with the same joy and freedom as Marco Minnemmann
👍🏿👍🏿
Some songs Jordan is playing with sequencer. Right?

There's some loops. Specially when he plays leads
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Rod would've been a great fit for Zappa's band
We need Rod in Dream Theater

To my above point, watch buddy rich and his band. He demanded perfect time from his orchestra, I wonder why?
Laughing at all the people who think the guy from winger can only play rock!
whats the name of the second song ?
Nightwind
