Your video is validation to what I'm currently doing for my career. I had no college degree up until now. I've been a single mom, worked 2 low-paying jobs for most of that time. One was a full-time dead-end job at a Health insurance company and the other as a seasonal Tax Analyst/Advisor for 14 yrs. I enjoyed working with my tax clients year after year, but felt so unappreciated by my employer. After my daughter's freshman year in college in 2018, I resigned from my full-time job and made the transition to tech when I earned a scholarship for an all women's coding bootcamp to learn web dev/design. The demand to learn was so high, but it lacked the mentorship and support. I left after 3mo and instead, I enrolled at my local community college taking IT courses. I took random classes at first since I didn't know what I wanted to do in tech. I eventually completed with an AAS in Cybersecurity, certs in DB Design & SQL and MS Network Admin, and took 9mo of Python. After that, I got an internship for the critical infrastructure sector in local gov. I'm moving on to earn my BS. I still work during tax seasons, but I definitely want to make financial technology my full-time career since I still get to be working in compliance and data. I'll be checking out more of your content, links, and exploring more about BC techonology. Thanks for the valuable info.

@Shawn S. - thanks! I think they are a great asset to have on your resume. Really depends on what you're going for. Do you want to be coding or working around coding and product development? Or transition to the fintech industry, but work in sales/corporate development type of a role to scale the company... Basically, great skills to have, any programming language, blockchain etc... should help in making that transition. Your experience and the MBA are already a great asset that will open a lot of doors, but showing on your resume that you already kinda are a fintech guy will be helpful. Keep me posted!

Hi Martin , great video 👍 I must say My question is I got two offer letters from UK universities for Feb 2022 I.e Msc Fintech ~ Surrey University Business Analytics ~ Coventry University I have 8 to 10 yrs work Exp in banking & finance profiles. Pls suggest which course will suit me for long run or which field is more in demand. Thanks
@Puneet - first of all, congratulations for both of these offers. Hard to make the right call for me, I don't know either University very well. But it seems to me the Fintech track is an interest of yours and probably leads to a more practical future in terms of options and choices. You know, I found that ultimately it's really less about the actually school you go to, but about the network you're able to build - and that's a very personal skill. You may be in the best possible Ivey League school and not build a useful network, or be in an average university and build an amazing network, meet your future co-founder, and be off to an amazing start. Go with your gut - it's usually the right choice 🍀
@@PuneetSethi9873 hi How u r doing in fintech? I also want to do MSC in fintech? Plz suggest me any course prior to take admission in MSC as I hve just completed graduation
Tricky to answer in a vacuum - a lot depends on the field you're more interested in and want to work in. Both can lead to a company in finance, while computer science is a more generic area that has a ton of other avenues other than fintech....
Hey Ammar - yes it is! Try to take one or two of the courses I highlighted in my videos (links below the video) as that will improve the credibility of your resume as well. good luck!!
@Kaila - this is a tough one. It's the "flavor du jour" right now to label anything crypt or fintech and see it rocket to success. I think if you're going to do an MBA, you're really looking for a great, rounded curriculum with an amazing name recognition and a great alumni network. Because MBAs are ultimately about creating networks. So I wouldn't choose just because it's a Fintech MBA per se, but hey if you can get a great MBA that happens to also be tilted towards FinTech and it's what you want to do, it's a winner ☝️
@@martinzeman89 got it Thanks for the insights Also is it possible to get into a premium MBA with 3 years work experience post diploma but just graduated from bachelors degree. Is post-graduate work experience a must ?
Hi Festus - that's a tough one, really depends on what you want to do later on. The Data Science track will be quite a bit more technical than a more generic Msc. in Fintech. If you're really into coding, algos, and all the data science stuff, that's the track for you but if you want to have more options later on within fintech, I'd personally go for the Fintech Masters. Good luck!
@SIG - Absolutely in there, as well - to me Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are part of the Quant Analysts and Data Scientists group I talk about. Clearly an area that is growing exponentially and offers amazing prospects.
Hi Martin, thanks for this valuable information. Well I'm looking forward with Master's in fintech, and I have shortlisted 2 best Universities. Could you please help me out to choose wisely out, having the best modules. 1. University of Exeter or 2. University of Surrey I believe your knowledge and experience in fintech can really help me out..
@Abel - I unfortunately don't know enough about their programs to be able to give you an informed opinion. I'd just say, go with the program that has the classes that interest you. You don't want to enroll at a place that you would second-guess the moment something is a bit off track in terms of expectations. Good luck !! 🍀
Hi Martin. I am Chartered accountant from india working in tax fintech company as delivery and service Manager. I am persuing CPA US too. would like to know if all these courses are usful to me too?
@Kranti - yes they are because they are typically run by really good names like Yale, Columbia, Wharton, INSEAD. Just lends your resume more weight and you can get a free trial on some to test them out. How far along are you in the CPA?
Hi Martin, I'm Kanishk from India, currently I am pursuing 2 degrees (Bsc & BTech) at the same time, can you suggest me some of the ways/opportunities to grab some of the best 'FinTech Internships', it can be in abroad also, I'm okay with it...By the way lots of Love from India...
@Kanishk - greetings to India, my friend. I hope the Covid situation starts improving soon. I have lots of friends in India and it's quite disheartening to hear the stories... The degrees you are pursuing are great, and I think if you spice it with a couple of the courses in the field, it will give your resume a lot of credibility. I would be very open minded and just keep knocking on the doors, networking around LinkedIn and advertised opportunities in Europe, Africa, but also places like Singapore, Hong Kong. FinTech is taking over in Africa and Asia even faster because the market is very underbanked and it's easier for FinTech solutions to penetrate and bring innovative solutions. I don't have a super high visibility into Asia/Africa, but I know that the growth is strong there. Check out the courses I talk about in my other video on FinTech and Blockchain courses - that should help opening doors. Keep me posted, Kanishk 🍀
Brother I applied for a fintech bootcamp through uoft ... looking for career change...have you heard of the uoft program... expensive but worth investing????
Pricey! But the curriculum looks good. I'd probably try to get in touch with people that have done it and hear their feedback as well as see how some of the FinTech companies you're thinking of feel about this specific track. Ultimately if this gets you the job you want, it's a great investment in your future. Good luck 🤞

Hey Martin, I'm currently in a dilemma to choose between Bsc economics and BBA. Which one would you recommend so that I get to work in fintech right after my graduation?
@Ninetynine Knights - great question. Do either of them have anything that sets them apart in terms of specialization? I think you can't go wrong with either of them, but the BBA will give you a broader understanding which leaves more doors open? I think ultimately what opens doors is a great name on your resume. I'd pick the more reputable institution behind the degree 🤞 PS: check out some of the FinTech courses on my other video where you can at the same time put some great names on your resume like Wharton, INSEAD, Berkeley.... just beef up your resume with extra courses and certifications, some coding, knowledge of Python and other languages and you're increasing your chances in a big way 🍀

Keep me posted and good luck on the level 3 exam 🍀🤞
I m working as investment banking industry... asset management and corporate actions process.... now i m studying for data scientist... will i get into investment banking itself as a data scientist?... doing data science will hv much values in my career?
@Ranjith - yes most definitely. Data scientists are so much in demand in investment banking now as so much of the trading stuff moves to e-platforms and algos....
Hi Mark,
I am currently pursuing ACCA along with my UG so how can I get into fintech from there?
@Kashika Gupta - look at the few courses I talk about in my video on FinTech and Blockchain courses (links to them are below the videos). That will help you beef up the resume, start building a network and open doors. Good luck! 🍀
@@martinzeman89 Thank You So Much!
Do you have any recommendations for courses to get started in FinTech?
@Ron - of course! Did you watch the video I made on courses in FinTech? Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/KOPM01ibmVQ/v-deo.html
All the courses have links to them below the video, as well - good luck 🍀
Where is a place I can learn C++ that will lead to a job?
So basically if I am not interested or don't like coding my life is basically ruined.
@moizzkhan - haha, don't be so pessimistic! plenty other cool jobs in fintech or other areas ☝️
Hi Martin , great video 👍 I must say
My question is I got two offer letters from UK universities for Feb 2022
I.e Msc Fintech ~ Surrey University
Business Analytics ~ Coventry University
I have 8 to 10 yrs work Exp in banking & finance profiles.

Which is better fintech or computer science ?? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Tricky to answer in a vacuum - a lot depends on the field you're more interested in and want to work in. Both can lead to a company in finance, while computer science is a more generic area that has a ton of other avenues other than fintech....
I’m going to study finance in college and I’m learning programming by self is this a good path ?
Hey Ammar - yes it is! Try to take one or two of the courses I highlighted in my videos (links below the video) as that will improve the credibility of your resume as well. good luck!!
Great Video Martin 👍
What's your take on MBA in Fintech.
Some universities are offering them
Is it worth considering to pursue a MBA in fintech?
@Kaila - this is a tough one. It's the "flavor du jour" right now to label anything crypt or fintech and see it rocket to success. I think if you're going to do an MBA, you're really looking for a great, rounded curriculum with an amazing name recognition and a great alumni network. Because MBAs are ultimately about creating networks. So I wouldn't choose just because it's a Fintech MBA per se, but hey if you can get a great MBA that happens to also be tilted towards FinTech and it's what you want to do, it's a winner ☝️
@@martinzeman89 got it
Thanks for the insights

What is the best Fintech Programming Bootcamp?
Hi Sir, I have taken Bachelor of Commerce and MBA in Finance. Is it possible for me to get a job in Fintech area after doing MSc Fintech in UK
absolute, good luck!!
Hi Martin...how long would it take to learn python, Java, c++, c# in detail? About a year?
Hi Emmanuel - that's a tough one... how many hours a day? 🤣
I think 6-12 months is a good expectations if you work on it daily though... good luck!
Nice one. Please do me a favour and advise me on what course to study (Msc. Data Science or Msc. Fintech)?
Hi Festus - that's a tough one, really depends on what you want to do later on. The Data Science track will be quite a bit more technical than a more generic Msc. in Fintech. If you're really into coding, algos, and all the data science stuff, that's the track for you but if you want to have more options later on within fintech, I'd personally go for the Fintech Masters. Good luck!
Is AML a part of FINTECH as well ? and AML with MBA finance a good combo to get into the fintech world ?
@Suman - absolutely yes. AML is one of the cornerstones for any fintech solution. Good luck!
@@martinzeman89 Thanks a lot 😁🍻

What about AI & ML within fintech?
@SIG - Absolutely in there, as well - to me Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are part of the Quant Analysts and Data Scientists group I talk about. Clearly an area that is growing exponentially and offers amazing prospects.
Hi Martin, thanks for this valuable information. Well I'm looking forward with Master's in fintech, and I have shortlisted 2 best Universities. Could you please help me out to choose wisely out, having the best modules.
1. University of Exeter or
2. University of Surrey
I believe your knowledge and experience in fintech can really help me out..
@Abel - I unfortunately don't know enough about their programs to be able to give you an informed opinion. I'd just say, go with the program that has the classes that interest you. You don't want to enroll at a place that you would second-guess the moment something is a bit off track in terms of expectations.
Good luck !! 🍀
It would really help if u could tell be what u did before doing your masters in fintech thank u:)

@Sfb - The University of Toronto FinTech Bootcamp? Haven't looked into that one - how much is it?
@@martinzeman89 it's 10 k but if fintech is running it ... has to be good
Pricey! But the curriculum looks good.
I'd probably try to get in touch with people that have done it and hear their feedback as well as see how some of the FinTech companies you're thinking of feel about this specific track. Ultimately if this gets you the job you want, it's a great investment in your future. Good luck 🤞
I’m looking into the Wharton fin tech program cert, it’s running at $2600 any input on that one

I'd pick the more reputable institution behind the degree 🤞
PS: check out some of the FinTech courses on my other video where you can at the same time put some great names on your resume like Wharton, INSEAD, Berkeley.... just beef up your resume with extra courses and certifications, some coding, knowledge of Python and other languages and you're increasing your chances in a big way 🍀
