- This is day 1 of my PADI Advanced Open Water (AOW) Certification Course in Anilao Batangas. We did 2 dives out and had bbq lunch in Tingloy Island.
Day 1 Skills:
Surface Marker Buoy (SMB) Deployment
Peak Performance Buoyancy
Nitrox (Intro)
The Advanced Open Water (AOW) course wasn’t as challenging as the Open Water course because it didn’t have any written examination. It was more of like doing fun dives with skills at the end of each dive.

Hi, AOW cert is around 15k more or less 😊 You can message out Casa Escondida Anilao (look for dive instructor Dong Vergara) on facebook for the exact rate.
Do you need to have a license on open water before aow?
Hi, Shem! Yes, openwater is the first level of certification. If budget is no issue, you can take your AOW right after taking your OW course. I think you can finish both courses in 2-3 days. 🤿
