- Behind the Scenes of a Slow Motion Phantom Shoot: NanLite Forza 500 Lighting
In this video, Dave Geffin takes us through the behind the scenes of a super slow motion shoot shot with the Phantom Flex4K camera that can shoot up to 1000 frames per second! In this footage you’ll see our crew light both a professional dancer and marital artist with the NanLite Forza 500, which proved to be bright enough to light these slow motion shots.
As you may know, shooting at higher frames rates requires a great deal of light and occasionally some LEDs will introduce some flickering issues. The NanLite Forza 500 was not only bright enough to light these scenes but it didn’t cause any flickering issues at all!
Watch as our crew shoots 300, 500, 800, and 1000 frames per second with the Phantom Flex4K camera!

2 years from now. Samsung S 23 Ultra: hold my beer *shoots 8k 2000 frames per second video.
Do you use adobe premierr for post production?
What was your f-stop and how many Forza 500's did you use?
HI I am being told the F stop varied but they stayed around a 4 to an 8 and they used 4-5 Forza 500s depending on the set up.
A lot of artifacts in the black is it due to youtube compression.
Hello! Yes the compression on UA-cam is affecting the image. We tried exporting as high a resolution file as possible but unfortunately compression is still a factor with online uploads. Thanks for watching and for your question!
The image looks very noisy .
Hi, Thanks for your feedback we will let the video team know.
