From my experience with historical dance. In many cases the hardest thing is not to memorise the order of figures. Every historical dancing school has some list of figures and steps from which the dances are composed, just the order changes. After some practicing you remember it. The hardest thing here is that French baroque dance has often extremely difficult figures. It's actually a beginning of ballet. And you have to perfectly fit the rhythm.
The gentleman's attire is a century prior to the composition of the music and the woman's dress. (Very wrenching to view such a incongruity, otherwise the dancing is wonderfully performed!)
It is a bit disconcerting; I agree. It is the first thing I remarked when I viewed the video! Perhaps the re-enactment actors had to play multiple parts in the facility (museum?) and didn't have time for a costume change?
А вот именно.. исполнителям не хватает величавости и грации,, какие-то постоянные подпрыгивания и резкость.. отсутствие украшений, а вместо них какая-то корона из перьев на голове. Конечно, на фоне современных *танцев* сии кружения могут произвести впечатление. Но дух того времени они не передают, уж я-то знаю)...
Смотритель-отставник в музее Суворова очень смешной - листает книжку, надо думать, Старикова "Запад против России: За что нас ненавидят" и делает вид, что всё происходящее в зале его никак не касается.
Помимо костюмов, которые никогда бы не появились при дворе Петра I, спектакль свидетельствует о том, что вся Россия принадлежит к европейской культуре. Европа простирается от Рейкьявика до Владивостока, но Брюссель отказывается в это верить.

@@alfinar12 Ну что вы, существовало 2 типа танцев - низкие и высокие. Во вторых как раз позволялись подпрыгивания и большая подвижность...
