As Seoeon’s mom said that his was life threatening at a young age I assume it’s at a size where they need to fix it. The whole actually gets smaller as they mature. If the whole is still a certain size after puberty they use a catheter and maneuver a little plug to fill the hole. I got my surgery a few years ago and I was in and out of the hospital the next day.
