I'm 6'5, 280. I've sat and driven all 3 cars. Z is definitely the most comfortable and a car I can drive for a long period. Even with a manual transmission, the Z wouldn't be a problem. The Supra on the other hand is a much tighter fit, still can be driven but definitely wouldn't recommend it if its going to be driven for more than a couple hours. Trying to drive the Supra with a manual transmission will be damn near impossible if it isn't already. The 86 is one fun car to drive. Its comfortable and can definitely drive it with a manual. This is the best video I've seen when it comes to tall people fitting in these small cars. I would like to see more videos like this with classic JDM cars like 90s Nissans, Toyota, Subaru, Honda etc.
you dont understand how much i appreciate this video. no one has every done something so clear about tall people in these cars. been in the market for a supra and no dealers near me have one to sit in currently. appreciate the detail in this video. earned a sub.
I daily the 400Z. My only complaint is that the driver side door is a little too "close in" so if my left hand is not on the wheel, my arm doesn't have too many places to go. That, and there's not a lot in the way of interior amenities like places to put your phone or a drink or your wallet. Outside of that, the interior is perfectly comfortable even on long trips, and since I have the manual my left hand rarely leaves the wheel anyway. The cargo space in the rear... exists. It's there. Seriously watch out for anything tall and harder than glass. I bounced the rear glass off a 6 pack of beer bottles when I went to close it. Luckily it was fine.
@@VNGLRS hey bud, just bought mine last week. Quick question for you. Is it me, or that B58 is incredibly loud while idling? Specially for a brand new car. I thought I broke something for sec there.
@@juanduarte2240congrats man! Shouldn’t be too loud especially if it’s stock. What is it idling at rpm wise? The direct injection is kinda loud so if sounds like ticking it’s most likely the direct injectors pulsing.
@@VNGLRS idle is at 1000. Yes, all that ticking is what I meant. I didn’t expect that specially from a brand new car. I had to google it cause I thought I broke something, but apparently is something that B58s do. I watched a lot reviews and all sort of videos before I bought it and I didn’t hear anything about all the clicking sound. Is not obnoxiously loud but if you don’t know that’s a thing, it could scare the shit out of you 😂
For me at a long torso’ed 6’1” the interior rear view really blocked my forward vision especially in uphill RH turns. I removed the mirror ( torx ) and then carefully popped off the plastic panel above the mirror. Then I was able to rotate mirror 180* on it’s stem and reinstall it leaving off the cosmetic panel. . You can adjust the mirror up a couple or 3 inches when you leave off the panel. This somewhat compromises you view out the back but you get used to it. . There is an idiot light in the cosmetic panel that is held in by 2 screws. Remove this warning light and use double sided foam tape to attach it to the magic box that is above and to the right of the mirror. . Now when you are bombing into a RH bend you can see the apex without bobbing your head down.
@@craigturton4940 for whatever reason the Z is thirstier. It still surprises me every now and then. I feel like the fuel tank is bigger but somehow manages to drink more gas 😂
Really?! I’m surprised to hear that. I’m actually very interested in the NC1 NSX so I’ll definitely be checking how I fit in one haha The funny thing is that the cars I used to fit into 10 years ago ;185 lbs (S2000, Miata) are impossible for me to stay in comfortably at all now.
6 1” and 250 lbs, something I have always struggled with, loved this video! Got a subscribe from me! Deciding on a Supra, z nismo, or a used cayman gts. Any experience with the gts?
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I might be biased but the Supra is the best bang for the buck out of all of them. The GTS will feel the most put together out of the 3. The emphasis on suspension and steering feel mixed with good power will make the GTS look and feel the part.
REPRESENT!🔥🙌🏾 Yeah, I'm fortunate for my body build cause another 30-40 lbs would probably get a little too uncomfortable for me. I've been doing this coupe life since I was 17 so it's just second nature at this point. Thanks for watching!
You need to sit in one for sure. I’m 6’1” but long torso and short legs so my seat cushion to top of head is probably the same as someone 6’3” to 6’4”. I wish the Z had a lot more rearward travel for the steering wheel. The rear view mirror was my main impediment to being at ease driving the car .
Hey Liz! I would definitely recommends getting one. It’s very daily-able. It’s very comfortable and obvious a great sports car. Just have the appropriate tire setup for the cold season and you’ll be fine 👍🏾

Nice video!
Great video! As someone also 6'3 who was cross shopping both MK5 and Z, I was always afraid I wouldnt fit in the Supra.

Yeah, you do have a valid point about the D/S door.
I had a close call with the rear hatch a few weeks ago 😂

Much appreciated! 🙏🏾 Yeah, you should definitely be good to go😎
Excellent video.
Thank you very much!🙏🏾
I sat in a 2022 Supra at a car show and had zero room for my knees, I’m 6’3 and it was tougher getting out than in
Damn that’s unfortunate man! The wheel can definitely add to the difficulty too.
Great video bro! I like the car content you been dropping lately
