A Super Cool 1972 Made in Japan Ventura Gold Top Les Paul Style Guitar with the original Hard Shell Case!
This guitar is in great shape for its age. We had our Tech’s go over it and set it up with great playing action with new 10 guage Strings. Everything works on it and its super clean. Just some superficial dings and bangs…the worse is shown in pic 5..Some gold is wearing off the top and the bindings are looking very vintage. See pic 9..We filled one hole on the side by the strap button. Probably pulled the old strap button out.
We dated this guitar from the unstamped Maxon Humbucker Pickups…They would be around 1972 so we are calling this guitar a 1972. Best clue we have…The Original Maxon Pickups are very strong. I was amazed at how loud they are. I love these Maxon Pickups..
The guitar plays as well as it looks. Nice Chunky C Profile neck ... I like how it feels. The nut measures 1 3/3 inches…It has a 24 ½ inch scale neck with 22 frets.…Not a skinny neck at all….The guitar is quite heavy. It weighs 8 lbs 14 ozs. See pics.
All original but the tuner grommets. They were all missing so we replaced them with gold grommets. They fit loosely so be careful when changing strings. I love that this gold top still has its pickguard. Those are always missing! Everything looks correct inside the cavities…check those pics we provided! See pics 6,7 & 8...
Check out the original Hard Shell Case. Like the guitar, its been around. The back hinge is missing the top part but the other Four latches are there and working. All hinges are present as is the original handle. Even the accessory box is still in this case! I would not travel with this case but to have the original is great.
Now this guitar is really cool but a used vintage instrument..it will be sold as is, no returns..however..I have been hand picking my customers guitars for over 20 years now and they love the instruments I found for them…This cool MIJ Gold Top will certainly not be an exception…

Thanks for this, I've got a single Maxon Magnaflux salvaged from my '73 Ibanez SG and it does react like the back hb here, mounted on an LP. Larger diameter screw poles and stapler like polepieces on the other coil.

Those old Maxon pickups are great. One of my old Japanese les pauls had them, I replaced them with Gibons then changed them right back because the Maxon pickups were so much better.

I own one of these but the entire body is gold. Do i have a valuable gem or just a beautiful cheap guitar ?
