Thanks so much for the info! I'm the eco-friendly person of my family and I'm always looking for more sustainable options to bring to our lives. TP is a great and normal swap! BUT(T) (haha) bidets are a MUST. I was so tentative to use one when I moved to Japan but I will absolutely never go back! I have two review videos about them if you're interested :)
We use Reel! Another bamboo alternative but black owned and some really amazing programs they support

I didn't know you had a newsletter, that's great-just subscribed! I save all the paper from my WGAC rolls to use as wrapping paper for gifts. My mom thinks it's hilarious to get a present with the words "Who gives a crap" on it 🤣
It's relatively new, but happy to introduce it for this cause! The wrapping is so cute, right?!
Great video! Didn't know there was a newsletter. I also didn't know I needed this review video. I jumped into the first brand I was recommended
I've done that with soooo many brands but now I try to find alternatives!
A video idea: ordering "super eco friendly stuff" online vs. buying locally "the next best option".
This has been bugging me for a while, because sometimes it's really hard to decide, which option is better, considering the entire lifespan of a product. I often opt for the local simply because it's less costly, faster and includes no extra cargo (not to mention the possible returns and re-orderings...). The scales would weigh differently if I lived eg. in the capital city instead of a periphery.
Hope you understood what I'm trying to say, it's hard to explain 😅
This is so true! I've especially been thinking about this since I moved to a more rural area; now I *have* to drive or order online. I've also run into this problem when trying to pick tights---Snagtights is great but they're UK-based and I'm in the US. Anyway, yeah, I second this video idea!

This was so helpful! I’m in the U.K. so I’m not sure if all are available here, but I have used WGAC for about 2 years and have been very happy. However, I use the bamboo option and you made a very good point about supporting the recycling industry, so I’m going to swap my next order to recycled and give it a try. Thanks for a great video!

You just gave me the idea to reuse the wrapping paper for shipping lol. I do reuse amazon packaging/shipping paper but not the ones for the toilet paper

After seeing your posting and tests (your mother recommended I view your video), I ordered and just received a case of REEL brand toilet paper - also bamboo and no plastic. We haven't used it yet, but I feel better knowing it is environmentally better than the previous brand.

Just came across your video and great info. Thanks. FYI the “Who Give a Crap” brand is currently at $68 for 48 rolls of the recycled toilet paper. But again consumer prices have steadily increased over the last year.

I've wanted to try a more eco friendly TP, but I live with someone that's particular with their TP lol. Signed up for you're newsletter.
I hope you get a chance to try! THankfully we're not particular, but honestly it just takes a few uses to get used to a new one and it's so worth it for the environmental footprint!
It's kind of inconvenient and silly seeming, but you could still try some and just have two kinds of toilet paper available in your bathroom. At least then your consumption is partially more eco friendly. And who knows, maybe they'll try it sometime and think it's fine. 🤷♀️

Also what ever happened to those rolls of toilet paper that didn't come with those cardboard tubes on the inside? Anyone else remember when that was a thing? I wonder if they're actually less wasteful to produce, or if they made the process of rolling much more complicated. 🤷♀️
HAHAHHA thanks lol! Right?! THey're super common for industrial TP used in like public places, why do household rolls need them?

Amazon had some recycled toilet paper and I bought it. It didn't have any plastic in the packaging.

I had to check my own toilet paper immediately 😄 It's recycled fibers, unbleached and comes in a big plastic packaging, the rolls are not single packaged on the inside.
I've thought about toilet paper quite a lot lately, it's crazy that (where I live) the norm is to wipe your butt with paper and flush the toilet with world's cleanest drinking water 🙈🙈 I've become more and more sparing in my paper use allaround the home, in many tasks it's in fact more convenient to use washable cloth rags instead. Always going for the laziest option 😅
That's so cool! RIGHT I can't believe we buy paper for a few moments use and use CLEAN WATER to flush!

Can you compare TP to Scott 1 ply???
I cant cause I've never used it but none of these brands are one ply. They're all very soft and strong is all I can say. Watch to the end for some tests!
Personally I like Pure Planet Club and Who Gives A Crap. I didn't like that the Who Gives A Crap recycled tp would have the little residue pieces (lint?)? Idk what to call it lol but it would sort of come apart a bit. So I've been using their Bamboo tp. Pure Planet Club is my favorite but they haven't released their recycled line yet and I figured since WGAC gives back half their profits, I'm using them till the PPC recycled comes out.

Off Topic but you mentioned you will be reviewing detergents. I love Tide ( yes hang my head in shame but I love it). Today I bought a 31 oz Oxy Tide I love the smell and there are so many variations of Tide I always give it a smell to make sure it's the one I like. So looking inside I'm like "theres only half a bottle of soap in here" picked up several more same thing. I bought it brought it home and weighed it on my digital scale.. yes it weighs the 31 ounces plus 8.5 oz extra which would be the weight of the bottle. I am perturbed that they used such a big bottle and only filled it half way up ( yes plan to email them tomorrow). I'll be looking at other bottles the next time I'm in the store but what a waste. I do reuse my bottles save them for emergency water use and to water plants when my rain barrel is full but so not good for the environment. Anna In Ohio
WOW! If you want to stick to laundry, I recommend Seventh Generation. Still wasteful but better than Tide

7th Gen is a little greenwashy to me so i don't love it when there are brands doing eco things better. BUT I love that it's accessible at the store so it IS better than big brands for sure
