Your videos inspired me so much back the day! I remember watching them around 2010 or so and being absolutely stunned by the parks and coasters you made.
Also fun fact: Your Beauty and the Beast video was the first time I ever heard my now favourite band: Nightwish. I didn't know it at the time though, and it was only many years later that I watched the video again and recognized the song of the band I had really gotten into a year or two prior.

Fun fact, I bear RCT for the first time ever in 2021. I started in 1999 when it first came out lol as a kid there were a couple of times where it randomly crashed and all my data was gone. I played randomly in college and sporadically for years but that was it. During Covid found your channel and made me take it back up and finally beat it. RCT2 came next. Crazy it’s been such a part of my life, TY Marcel for being part of it and rekindling my love for the game!
3 is beautiful and has a great charm of its own too!
the biggest reason i can't play 3 the same way i do 1 and 2 is the extreme amount of bugs still in the game. it's a fun game but has too many issues to have the longevity of 1 and 2.
RCT 3 and DOOM 3, the three's in their franchise which get completely hate upon just for being different. I love both games!
@@AmazedBunionBugs that are beautiful. The only thing I really can complain about is performance. One day someone in the RCT3 community will make OpenRCT3 in Vulkan. I'm not joking, I'm entirely convinced it would be possible, we'd just need to find someone fluent in shader languages. Thankfully, the RCT3 community has an entire group dedicated to making mixmaster effect shaders.
I love 3.. if only for throwing roller coasters at guests, throwing guests into pools from heights of 50+ ft, unleashing zoo animals on guests....

You are a key part keeping the community alive! You share the same joy most of your viewers only wish we can go play our childhood back in 1999. Many great streamers suddenly stop over the years and its a sad truth. Lives get in the way and new beginnings come forth. You brought nostalgic memories to so many. You took the mechanics and are very detailed in explanations many of us would ever get to experience or know. Almost like you created the game along side Mr. Sawyer. Memories to come. "Rollercoaster Tycoon World is an absolutely atrocious joke of a game" had me ROLLING hahahaha
Yeah, that's what happens when you rush a game out to beat its competitor to market. _RollerCoaster Tycoon World_ became abandonware, while _Planet Coaster,_ from the makers of _RollerCoaster Tycoon 3,_ became a runaway success. Not as much of a runaway success as _OpenRCT2,_ mind you, but a success nonetheless.
I kinda wish than Planet Coaster gameplay's was more similar to RCT, sure the graphics are amazing but they went so overboard with the customization it takes like 10-15 minutes to make a decent looking food stand
This is what I hate about the planet games. you can customise and make beautiful anything, and if you don't, its awful. But its a pain in the ass when you just want to build a park! I dont have multiple hours to plough into a coaster or food court, when I can fire up RCT classic on my iPad and complete bumbly beach in a thousand different ways in an hour or two.
@@jameshodgetts7541That's what makes the RCT1/2 games so amazing. You can work on a ride for 15 minutes and have it look absolutely beautiful.
I feel you on that one. I do really enjoy parkitect but instead of complicated building it's complicated management for the park and staff.

As someone who with special interest powers does spend all those hours in planet coaster thinks it’s a mixed bag. I don’t like building non functional parks and when you do that the scenario goals are bad. The stars system is super flawed and can be ludicrously easy, tedious, or bizarrely specific (in a bad way)
I still like that scenario play as someone with a 1,000 hours in the game, but do wish its scenarios were structured more like rct1-2 (I know 3 has same structure) which frontier worked on) had way better scenery, especially greenery, and had like 10* as many prebuilt stalls so you could spend time on rides and not just stalls and not have it look terrible. The customization and simulation is spectacular and I have made so many awesome things.
As much as some people in rct community dislike planet coaster (who’s community is closer to coaster enthusiast culture) we all tend to love rct.
We agree planet coaster is an aging game with poor optimization and limited options without huge time investment, but I am hoping that frontier really works hard to deliver for planet coaster 2
I’m still playing openRCT2 and I’m honestly still not that bored of it

RCT was the first game I bought with my own money. I bought it at a swap meet, in its big box, after having played the demo over and over. I still get that same feeling hearing the start up sounds.

RCT 3 is my first introduction to RCT franchise as a kid. I love amusement park, that's why the design of RCT 3 packaging instantly grabbed my attention. Later on I also found RCT 2 in the game store. I love both of them. But I didn't have the first RCT game as a kid and I couldn't find it from any stores. I was eager during that time. This year I decided to buy RCT Deluxe from Steam to celebrate 25th anniversary. HAPPY 25TH ANNIVERSARY, ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON!
RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 released a single day before I was born, and ever since I was a little kid all the way until now, I've enjoyed RCT1, RCT2 and OpenRCT2. 25 great years! I do hope the next 25 years are just as fabulous.
I know it's not in the scope of this video, but I want to give an honorable mention to Planet Coaster- it's the spiritual successor to RCT3, rather than RCT World. Made by the same developers of RCT3, it is miles better than the actual sequel.
Boy I wish I could be there, but a stream starting at 4 am is brutal for me. Hopefully I’ll find a way.

In Canada, RCT2 was given away for free in cereal boxes (common at the time to give away free gifts in cereal boxes). I wonder if this also happened in the USA and increased popularity of the game. If it wasn't for the cereal, I'd have never started playing.
I remember getting the game in a cereal box too. Still have the copy.
I started RCT back in 1999 when my parents got me a copy from Circuit City. I was scared to build coasters due to I didn't know how the trains get through the hills and them crashing. Later, I got Corkscrew Follies in 2000 and then later Loopy Landscapes in 2002 followed by RCT2 in 2003. Got into RCT3 in 2005 and its expansions, my XP PC struggled with it at the time and couldn't see water due to lack of GPU. In 2008, I got a physical copy of Triple Thrill Pack and played RCT2 once more. I got into OpenRCT2 in 2015, and it is a game changer from the retail version. RCT was a fantastic series in its early days and glad to see it is today.
I wish I knew how many total hours I had in rct and rct2 across my multiple computers over the years. All time favorite games
Have you heard of the game 4d golf? The developer said his inspiration for its in house track editor was the one from Rollercoaster Tycoon. And it was also related on the 22'rd of March this year!

I dont know your turnaround time for videos, but that sounds like great April Fools fodder...
We live in an era packed with nostalgia, yet so few game companies really see the worth in redesigning their classic hits just with better graphics and minor mechanical enhancements.
Because it likely won't sell all that well, at least it will not be worth the effort of them remastering it much less going through the old source code of rewriting or reverse engineering it. Sometimes it's just better to remake it with already modern QoL features baked in.
That would be a challenge:
1. Acquire RCT World, either buying it or receiving it as a gift.
2. Build a realistic coaster.
3. Get it filled with people.
4. Complete an ingame month - WITHOUT:
-The game crashing.
-Something bugging out or the coaster crashing for some undiscernible reason.
5. If any of that happens, scrap the coaster, build an entirely new one, and try again.
We need Open RCT 3

We don't have to, but it would be nice to have nonetheless.
It would be awesome to have that just for the bug fixes alone. Trying to place even path can either be super easy and simple or complete chaos.

Heck, a few of the changes in Open RCT 2 were 'backported' in a sense from RCT 3, so the latter likely wouldn't need as many improvements (graphics aside) to reach a similarly great state.
So the big question is, how easy it would be to edit and improve RCT 3 compared to RCT 2?

The first game of RCT that I have played was RCT3 in middle 2010 and I've played that game for hours (I was always addicted to management games, started in 2009 by playing Zoo Tycoon), then in early 2011 I've installed RCT2 in my pc and got addicted by that game and played it for months(before changing to SimCity later that year lol), then in 2019 I decided to test openRCT2 and I finally got the opportunity to play RCT1 scenarios, basically I've played the franchise backwards lol (my pc don't run planet coaster and Parkitect and I refused to ruin my pc playing RCT World)
This is exciting! I had lots of fun with the Roller Coaster Tycoon PC games when I was a kid. I am looking forward to the live stream!

I cut my teeth on RCT1. Lots of good memories playing in the parks on my ancient PC. When OpenRCT got big i was so happy to get back into it. Like Tetris, Spyro, and Mario 64 there is something about simpler games that can last in ways "advanced" games can never hope to.
A key USP for RCT3 was the behaviour of groups of guests together, so that there were family visits. It never worked properly.

I still dont own any of the RCT games and I still watch most of your videos, but I picked up on the fact (for the first time I think) that you make a living off doing this. Thats fantastic, I'm really glad you get to do this because you so obviously absolutely love the game and everything about it.

I am a day 1 player Transport Tycoon. Never to expect the very same game would morph into the legacy we got today, back then the best we had was Theme Park inc. The only thing i never figured out.. Transport Tycoon on the PSX (yeah, back then) had a '3D mode', kinda like how sim city would be '3D' in games like Sim Copter, but no other version of either Rollercoaster or Transport tycoon ever had this feature. You happen to know what happened to that feature? From memory i would assume the PSX version was specialy fully made '3D' instead of (tile/layer) based?

RCT3 is still my favorite, though 2 will always be the most nostalgic for me, since it's the one I started with.

RCT3 was a great game. It went super downhill with how the parent company turned it into a mess. Planet Coaster is the best version of it since it was the same people who made RCT3 and made one of the best coaster games of all time. Can't even compare it to RCT2 IMO as it's just it's own monster. I love both Planet Coaster and OpenRCT2 so very much.

Fun fact: The first version(s) of RCT Classic were more akin to a Torture Simulator, but the NYPD thought it was too on-the-nose for, quote, “Distracting Serial Killers until we can come up with a more permanent solution”, so they forced it to seemingly be about roller coasters, etc viola.

Hello everyone
I also like the Estonian flag, I like the light blue. It's the only tricolour flag to incorporate light blue into one of the coloured stripes instead of dark blue, and the only other tricolour flag to have a horizontal black stripe is the German flag. I love the contrast between the light blue and the dark black colours. Tricolour flags with 3 stripes going horizontally or vertically, the white, red, blue, or yellow colours seem the most typical, I like how different Estonia's flag is with the light blue and I like Ireland's flag with the light green and bright orange, seeing a colour that isn't primary, white or black, but a secondary colour on a 3 stripes tricolour flag is very nice. Argentina and I think some of the Caribbean and Pacific Island countries' flags incorporate that nice shade of light blue colour to their flag's designs. Estonia and Ireland have got to be my favourite tricolour 3 stripes flags...
