Love Lapis, but can't afford to buy the gemstones they are so expensive. I love that you have done this video about the faux kind. You do such awesome work with the Poly clay and I thank you so much for teaching me how to do this.
Wonderful coloring! So much clay! Can you do a tutorial showing a finished project? Maybe you’ve already used it? Maybe pendant with earrings and/or bracelet? I think I missed the part where you used the remainder of the translucent unless it was the piece with the gold leaf on it.
This sheet, that u use for the tutorial to make lapis lazuli tutorial, want to know that sheet's recipe, what ingredient u use & proportion & method. Thanks 4 love. ☺
Sam can you pls ,when to put the recipes of what we need on the screen, leave it a bit longer because it is hard to read it goes too fast on the screen. Unless you write it down in your notes so that we can read it and take note. Thank you , pls do not take it wrong because I do not have good eyes I have a problem with my macula.
thank you Jessama...love your work and it is so easy to follow...question I am new to polymer clay..have made a few pieces after backing when sanding they have broken...am I making them too thin what is the thickness a flat piece should be...thank you in advance..
Hmm it sounds like your clay is brittle. This could be because of the clay you're using. If you're using Sculpey Three that could be the problem. The best clay brands to use are Premo, Kato, Fimo, Cernit, Pardo, Souffle. These are really strong at any thickness. It could also be how you're baking the clay. The main problem would be under baking. This can be caused by not putting the clay into the oven long enough or putting it in at a too low temperature. I bake for an hour and a half normally at the recommend temperature. I have two articles on baking where I go more in depth. They should help if this is the problem. www.jessamatutorials.com/bake-polymer-clay.html www.jessamatutorials.com/baking-polymer-clay.html I hope this helps and if not please let me know. I'm always here to help.
Jessama, I'm curious (not that experienced with clay yet) sanding the clay as many do, but then I see where they use a gloss glaze on them as well. Do you have to sand clay all the time even if you glaze them? I see a lot of the Magic Glos used.
Yes, I always sand my polymer clay before putting a finish on. The only time I don't sand is when I have a surface effect on top of the bead like mica powder or a silkscreen pattern. The Magic Gloss will hide a lot of flaws even if you don't sand, but your creation will still look much better if you do sand. I have an article on which materials are best for each sanding situation here www.jessamatutorials.com/finishing-polymer-clay.html. Hope this helps.

I'm very new to the craft and just love your work. I wonder what your thought are about using metallic gold premo clay rather than the gold leaf?
You could try it with gold clay, but it wouldn't look the same. Test out a small sample first before making a lot.
Hi Samantha,
I only have premo clay, can I use them for mixing new colors?
Thanknyou
You can use Premo to mix up some colors, but they will be different from the ones made from Kato.

thinking of making runes
Could I use gold glitter instead of good leave
Yes. You could.
Samantha, what colour recipe can I use for to create denim blue?
which brand of clay would you want the recipe for?
I use mostly Kato.
I make a 20 part blue to 1 part black mix.
thanks
very pretty how do ue it
Why chop first and then mix and grate it. Why not just grade all colours and mix it with gold . Why does extra steps , ( newbie )
Need more gold
