That rainmaker guy in game one was 100% a smurf and not a real Plat. Dude was so obviously a smurf
@@Knav_XD I'm just going off of what you told my teammate after we played that game
I was certain you were red Yuri both games. The biggest giveaway for me, as a C3 who has played with plat friends before thus wanted to blend in, is that you would continue to hold a direction with the left stick after an aerial to intentionally bounce off a surface instead of landing smooth. In my experience Plat is the rank where people actually land smoothly for the most part and, like in the Sunless reveal of you being Yuri (the goofy aerial that had Peter Griffin go "Ta-da!") you held forward after the aerial to land weird in the net and then jumped against the side of the net for maximum Plat-ness. Great video overall, CBell!
Props to Cbell for giving his all to do his best in those 2v2s!
My predictions while watching (I was plat 2 months ago):
Game 1:
2:23 suspecting Middy on blue team, had some weird touches
3:00 suspecting Yuri on red team, seems like he purposely didn't recover well and cleared the ball after attempting to control it which is sus
4:32 Yuri on red team
6:10 locked on Yuri on red team
7:07 still think it's Yuri on red team, final guess before time's up
7:51 (after reveal) yeah I feel like he was trying too hard to show scuffed mechanics and he went for things plats don't go for
Game 2:
9:42 Yuri on red team was waiting too much like a higher rank would do but it would be weird if it was red team Yuri twice, also weird touches
10:17 also watching Rex because of his weird miss
10:47 another weird miss by Rex on defense, I'll be watching him more
11:04 I'm with sunless here and think it could be Saltie, idk if a plat wouldn't know how to half flip so I'll watch him too to see if he has any mechanic that someone who doesn't half flip couldn't do
11:25 weird aerial attempt by Yuri, still a suspect
12:01 Rex showed some weird airroll a plat would definitely do, eliminated him from my suspects
12:33 weird miss by Saltie and seems like intentional comms by Cbell...
12:53 final guess Saltie, but Sunless could also be right about Yuri
Final conclusion: I agreed with Sunless on his conclusion, overall Cbell didn't blend in too bad, I just think he should show more mechanics in things he wouldn't go for normally, but not to the point of going for an obviously dumb aerial. Happy with my result, guessed one and had the other on my suspects, I feel like the fact that he was the same as in the other game (which sunless didn't know) made me not look at him too much because I thought he wouldn't do that, but he did, so he did good on that one. GG to everyone, I hope to participate when he does it with diamonds and confuse y'all
What I learned whilst ranking through platinum like 2 years ago was that the players had an idea of what they want to do, how they want to play their play, but aren't capable of doing it. What I mean by this is that they could have clear possession of the ball with no contest, and they'll take the ball up the wall, in order to try and air dribble it, then once that ball is up on the wall, they have no idea what they're doing. Sometimes they could hit the ball, hell, sometimes they could even air dribble the ball down, but it's not consistent, and it's pretty ugly to watch, and easy to block.
This is also the same rank where scoring a goal isn't enough, said player could have open net, with clear possession of the ball, because the other team double-committed, and rather than boosting the ball into the net, they'll try something "spicy" (well "spicy" for platinum), and they typically end up messing it up, unable to get a goal out of it entirely.
I'm plat and this covered so much of my struggles, especially because i watch a lot of rocket league videos from Lethamyr and rlcs etc...
I just can't correctly controll the car as I want, and when I'm in the air, I become brain dead for a moment.
I also have troubles with teammates over commiting or being the one that over commits because play style is so different in platinum per player.

guessing with cut scenes is so much harder then seeing full game like wayton
"Look how plat i look " said Cbell after he wave dashed , half flipped and went for a flip reset.
Sunless: Does this guy in platinum not know how to half flip?
Me, a champ 3:
The first game it was honestly really easy to point you out, but the second one you blended in really well. Great content!
Red yuri's jumps at 5:38 were a dead giveaway. You can see the tilt down and back up quick like you're about to boost down and tilt back up for the wavedash. Rainmaiker also did a wavedash or two, but it was very simple. low ranks wouldnt ever think to boost down to get to the ground faster before wavedashing lmao. The timing needed is way too precise.
I got the red yuri right both times. What gave it away for me was him boosting down towards the ground for a recovery
the attempted wavedashes, and that passback on top of the car at the end of game 1 are what gave it away, we are peaking in plat when we think of that pass. In game 2, didn't know if you switched, but how the flying just looks so weird, with to many decent goals.
The difference between plat and diamond is that diamonds don’t miss a lot of open nets and they go a lot more for aerial plays
I guessed right! @2:53 you wanted to do the side wavedash on the ball and had to fight the urge for sure!
As a plat/low diamond myself, it was easy for me to pick out! You could tell your play style was slower and positioning was too good. (Look at Leth's Road to SSL, he super slow, almost no mechanics, but positioning alone takes him to champ)
The mechanics were pretty spot on though, but you were always in a good position and not playing as chaotically as I and others in that rank do. You were always set correctly to botch it correctly. You just need to be more dumb and dive for things that are unreachable and you'll fool everyone! Mechanics look great, but you're instinct is too smart for that rank at this point.
More of these would be great I love playing along and trying to guess
The recoveries gave it away. And it showed you wave dashing after your team scored a goal. Plats can't recover. They pogo off of any given surface
Love your vids man keep up the good work
One give away was right after a soft touch you immediately jumped for the ball. A true plat would wait, decide, then jump a second or so later. Your muscle memory took over. GGS! D1 here
Noice, got it right both times. Like sunless said, there were things you did that looked intentionally bad, not naturally bad, and i was able to pick those things out.
" You know, Cbell, You blend in with Plats very well. EMOTIONAL DAMAGE 😂😂😂
the "dont yuri, be happy" line really put a smile on my face :)
In the second match, the one thing that gave CBell away, was a weird side aerial at 11:23. I've never seen that kind of aerial, I've never done one either, but with that kind of accuracy doing it, I knew it was CBell.
Tbh many of the plats i play (and myself) do high air roll aerials all the time.. And yes it's safe to say we have our days :)
I guessed Yuri entirely on the name. I 100% knew CBell would do that.
I love that someone obviously not Plat was ~also~ in the lobby doing flip resets because if CBell didn't get into a Plat lobby like that it just wouldn't be a good representation of what it's like playing in Plat. Half of the players actually playing in that match weren't really the rank the game says they are and that is the most Plat thing ever.
Also, I believe Diamond is where people start to over air roll, not Plat. Plats are super excited to jump for every ball every time no matter what, including and almost PARTICULARLY in the case of their own teammates already in the air going for it, but they are a little afraid of air rolling to bother trying it. It took me a long time going through Diamond to figure out that people were air rolling a ton because they didn't know what they were doing, not because they knew something I didn't. Now in Champ it feels generally people have a good sense of their air rolling - of course there's exceptions because I feel like the identifying factor to Champ is that every individual player always has one glaring weakness and that could be their control of air roll while being reasonably proficient at everything else.
Hahahaha love the memes at the beginning of the video xD!
The giveaway for me was how your movements weren't refined enough (like weird over boost usage) and random good touches on the ball where it was obviously under control. There were also times where you kept the ball really close when alone in defense which seemed unnatural imo
I’m ngl I knew who was not the plat because after a goal plats usual just stop or continue on with the motion and not “celebrate” or continue on. Idk if I’m explaining myself good
i got the first one right the one that gave it away was when u did a passing play no plat does passing plays. i wasnt looking for mechanincs bc alot of plats can do mechanics i was looking for positioning and and passing.
I instantly knew he was Yuri after the aerial at 10:29. He was clearly trying to look bad by spinning his car after the aeiral, which no one would do.
I sniffed you out both times.
First game i saw the demo rotation, which seemed too well executed and part of a routine you would easily forget about hiding in game as well as slow but precise ball touches on the ground. Briefly considered the meta aspect of not showing blue yuri to throw us off tho, but i ultimately would have said red yuri.
Game 2 was definitely tougher and i cant fully say what made you sus.
But there was this moment where you first horribly fail an aerial shot on the enemy goal, then "own goal" later on, doing a very similar aerial perfectly, even slightly correcting mid air in a way that caught my attention.
And in both games, overall recoveries, especially small ones on the ground. Hard to shake those off, especially when youre not actively paying attention to those micro movements
I thought the big giveaway was that he tried to control the ball multiple times. Plats flip into every ball
Source: I was plat for a long time 🤣
i could tell within the first 1:20 of the first game it was yuri. look at his control at 3:50. thats a dead giveaway that hes not plat. even before that his "flips" are still slowed down speed flips and general awareness was there.
Bro trolling and played better than me
My initial thought in the first video was Middy, because that car was leaving shots for his teammate instead of going for it which is something I rarely ever see in platinum lobbies.
First player I have ever seen who deteriorates in Free Play
Cbell love your videos keep up
I guessed correctly both times. For me the giveaway was actually when you were off ball or after a goal. Inconsistent half flips and such during play but after goals the micro adjustments became evident for you to land on all four tires. Something to keep in mind for next time!
Plats are so good! Except when they play rocket league
of course the plat flip resets. ive never seen one plat in my life who can do a decent fast aerial
Your training def looked like Plat/Dia there xD
I'd say with certainty, if not for my general struggle in maintaining a proper mindset to truly know my own skillset's ''rank''.
Since rank is not entirely important despite how much we make it out to be sometimes.
Love your content btw
In the 2nd game the dead giveaway instantly - Plats dont use boost to get back to the ground, they just free fall xD
“I’m focusing on red”
*”Well actually, it’s orange”*
no nerd emoji :d
Wow I’m surprised I actually got that right. It was a play earlier on when you jumped off the wall. It looked too controlled initially and then fell off.
I instantly knew it was him when he went of the wall like that 2:54 I guess I have way to much plat experience
Plat is basically the transition into more consistent than mostly missing. The wheels unironically begin to move faster. 😂
5:40 the urge to wavedash to gain speed when u have no boost
This was a great video!
Great video. I don't even think I play that bad. But maybe I do
Nobody seems to talk about it but for a plat hitting a flip reset like that at 5:48 was so clean, im champ and cant do that at all lmao, but at this moment it was obvious it wasn't you for this game
There’s 2 types of plat players. People who i don’t even know how they got plat and the people who are diamond worthy. But there is a secret kind. There’s always a smurf…
As a platium player for the last 3 seasons all i can say is.. in my experience the plat rank is much less toxic than gold was. Also i really related to you saying they can look really good 1minute & then shocking the next.. i always say if i was consistantly at my best im dimond but i have it in me to play like a gold haha even within the same game i can be one end to the other haha so im glad the other plats have they rep too
after being stuck in plat for so long (Diamond 3 now) i can confidently say plats are the embodiment of NPCs
The first match was easy, the second was hard just because of the angles we got. How to tell a plat: they never take the ball infield on purpose, they think you 're supposed to put it into the opposite corner and play it across net. And, they have no vision of other players on the field, only ball. You have to develop selective blindness to be plat.
to be honest this was really easy to tell who you were. idk your movements simply were not plat it looked like you were making your car flop around all the time whenever you did anything. but i still liked the video
10:52 I'm incapable of a half flip in diamond lmao
That first game pretty much throws everything off with rainmaker coming in at high diamond......? Not sure how that's plat. Even then, I'm assuming he's on an alt because his mechanics are far superior to a diamond
That was my main acc and I am plat in 1s and I was on us servers when I am from EU on almost 200 ping playing really bad with no warm up and shaking having a yt as my tm8
It was the holding powerslide on landings that sold yuri for me
hey cbell, you should start a new series which it's idea is making a new account and in that account you play mouse and keyboard and set a certain goal (rank) that you want to achieve by the end of the month
The pad pickups give it away for me. High GC you know the pad routes which you could see clearly by red yuri
Sunless really thought that was a diamond game, over here in diamond it’s actually hectic
Good video! got the last one right :)
A wise man once said Platinum isn't a rank, it's a playstyle
As a diamond 2 I knew in the first few seconds, the biggest giveaway was the front flips for everything
I'm an offended diamond... we don't play that terribly 😂😂
I swear, putting all these players in stocktanes makes it seem way better than me and my plat lobbies
i love your video man ❤
this was hilarious
another amazing video
I think Plats in 2's have better defense than offense majority of the time. Misses alot of open nets but competent enough to hit it away from net even their own which is also what you see a lot.
First game was really easy to tell which one u was but the second game i couldn't tell who on the orange team it was, i went with rex because i didnt think u would put yourself as yuri again lol
0:05 im literally opening val as im watching XD
ALOT of people underestimate plats and diamonds they are so good sometimes doing air dribbles then other times they can miss a open net
The 2nd game was waaay too obvious than the first...
But I also chose u in the first because of the wave dash plats don't wave dash and if they do its not efficient like u did it
So it was kinda obvious the closest guess next to u was middy but I want u to see something if u want to be plat.
Do u see the domino's jumping to hit the ball facing upwards and then windmills g to the side as a shot. This is the plat signature move.
The range of skill of play players is mind blowing, one game they are silver and another they r GC
I am really bad, but i think i could be undercover in a match of plats
I deserve plat but my teammates literally own goal and leave and after they leave I lose by one goal
bruh I still miss open nets in Diamond lol. Honestly if you can hit a ball consistently at net and have very very few other mechanics you'll probably be good enough to get high diamnd / low champ lol
The giveaway to me was that you were forcing yourself to land awkwardly from aerials, and you kept making weird adjustments using very small amounts of air roll, when I think a plat would either be using air roll a lot (like rainmaker was) or not at all
I'm champ and I don't even air roll until the last second of the aerial, don't know where to begin for practice. I'm also just learning how to half flip. Mid mechanics, but good mental I guess.
I'm locking yuri when he was thinking to half flip then stopped to avoid getting caught.
Personally I couldn’t see the difference between this and his normal gameplay
@cbell how is the Gold to Grand Champ series going with Ray? any updates?
I hit champ a few months ago but lowkey wish I was back in platinum. Then again, pretty much the same thing.
Plot twist: the real challenge was to discover that cbell was trying his best
Hey is the bronze to gc series comming back or not? If no did rey hit gc on its own?
Finally CBELL showing his true self
Plot twist: CBell's road to SSL is going to really badly
If you do this for champ, its so easy to blend in. Just do your normal mechs but overcommit and shoot slightly off target
saw you powersliding when landing in the first game so I figured out you were Yuri lol
what about the gold to gc series with ray? I loved that can you bring it back?
wow. you were smurfing. so creative.
Getting smurfed on once every 10 or so games made me quit RL. Glad this YT creator loves the game so much he wanted to help players quit.
if this video gets more than 17 likes I'll do this again but in diamond
What if it didnt😂
idk if thats possible
oh shit already happened
