This session provided an overview of the Building Assessment Certificates (BAC) and what this means for Principal Accountable Persons.
It built on the earlier session on Accountable and Principal Accountable Person duties. Delegates heard from BSR’s In Occupation Operational Policy Team about how those duties relate to the BAC.
The session covered:
• What a BAC is - and what it isn’t
• When PAPs will have to apply for a BAC
• How to apply
• What you will need to submit
• What to do if you have interim measures in place when you apply
• BSR’s approach to proportionality - and the concept of all reasonable steps
• A brief overview of what happens once you have applied
These themes were developed further in the final in-occupation session on how BSR will assess BAC applications.
