it's a very good song but i don't think it would've fit in the 80's, electronic music still had a very uniform 1-2 beat that everything played off of, which is not in the first part of the song. aphex twin kinda popularized the more complex productions, and he didn't really do that until 95. his 80's work is still very rhythmic.
