Is GH4 Still Good For Filmmaking? [Film from 2015]
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 січ 2021
- In 2015, we made a little short film called "Casting Catharsis" to test out our camera setup Panasonic GH4 + Sigma 18-35mm + @Aputure DEC Lens Regain with @FilmConvert Pro. I thought it would be a good time to share that short film again to remind ourselves that we might not need the latest cameras to make films. Hope you enjoy!
Starring: Eskild Fors and Tor-Andre Stuland
Film shot in FULL HD with picture profile Cinelike D. Graded with Filmconvert Pro. Get an extra 10% discount on the new FilmConvert Nitrate by using this link: www.filmconvert.com/purchase/...

Thanks again for your amazing talent Eskild
Eskild Fors will be forever missed for his great talent and charisma.
RIP ESKILD ❤️
Emotions are hard to hide when you see Eskild act. Thanks Anders for reminding us of his amazing talents. We miss you Eskild :)
Seeing Esking always brings up so many memories.. Such an amazing talent and charisma! I really miss you Eskild ❤️
Eskild will live forever in our hearts.
Every equipment is good as long as you know what you’re doing.
I really miss Eskild he is a awesome Actor the way he looks around and the way he plays the part 😢he will be missed always.
I remember this one loved it! Happy to see it again and Eskild!
I'd say the GH4 is plenty worthy in 2021. Its easy to get overwhelmed at all the new camera drops these days but just remember, they aren't going to stop making cameras lol
I must say I took a double take seeing Eskild in the thumbnail.
broke my heart a little to see Eskild in the thumbnail. You will be missed, your light has inspired others, including me. Your charisma and your talented persona live in our hearts forever. RIP 🌹❤️
visiting this jem again in 2022. you're still being missed Eskild Fors
😍😍so happy to see eskild again..He still lives in our hearts and never forgotten💜💜🥺
Dang! I've got chills as soon as I saw Eskild... he will be always missed.
The chills at 1:41 - the almighty "location scout" shot. If you know, you know.
You are absolutely right. So similar.
Wow, wonderful!
This was a fantastic example and reminder, that filmmaking is about making films, audiovisual stories, and not about technical specifications of cameras, as you would think when you watch all those gear focused UA-cam videos! Thank you!
Your video about the Sigma 18-35 with the Metabones Speedbooster is what caused me to go with the GH4 and that lens combo back in 2015. That combo launched my career. Thank you for all that you do!
Loved Eskild ✨ i hope there is a lot more in the archive
Damn it, i came across Eskild's video about the danish language, which i thought was really funny and good, and i wanted to see more of his stuff since i liked it a lot, but sadly i just found out that he has passed away. RIP!
Idk why I'm crying at last but this short movie i love it ! We Miss You Eskild! :")
Facts 💯 I started filmmaking from watching him R.I.P 👑
@@chadpalmercrisis1723 woahh that's great ! Keep it up man ✨
I still own my GH4 and earlier this year I bought a Sigma 18-35 which i wanted ever since your video came out about it
Eskild!! You always gonna be the man!!!
That 18-35 can make almost any camera it can fit on look amazing!
Agree! I've never stopped using it!
Such a great talent. Sadly missed.
I miss Eskild but at least I know he is in a better life now
I remember seeing this film in 2015 and it was so much fun to watch!
Blast from the past!
Awesome! ❤️
Eskild, forever in our hearts
Short answer...Yes. Yes it is, I just retired my 2 GH4s. I used them for many a film project and for client work. For the price they are now, you can't go wrong.
Wow really love your content this is amazing. What is your preferred camera you use for videomaking , I'd love to have a conversation and maybe even collaborate on different ways in telling stories through video !
You, Andyax and Eskild make a fantastic duo act. You two are like 'Laurel and Hardy' but in a very different way with great partnership and friendship that people would love to have. You are both very, very talented. Eskild will always be by your side. He is such a joker and please, take note, if you see or hear anything that is extraordinary in your work place or home... that will be your friend to let you know that he is around. Andyax, keep up the good work. You are doing a fantastic job. 😉👌
Superb work!! Yet the camera clearly shows its limitations. The a7s is the timeless one.
I use the gh4 and the sigma 18-35 to make my UA-cam videos and yes it's good enough. If you plan on moving around, you'll need a gimbal. I love the GH4 soo much that I wanted to upgrade to the gh5 but I'll pick the Sony A6600 instead.
Hi, do you by any chance still have the gh4 lens? I broke mine and I can’t afford a new lens at the moment
Hey in a video at some point you suggested a Norwegian online shop. Can anyone tell me the name?
I was just looking for something like this... I was looking some of the Panasonic Lumix offers both new and used; from G7s, everything in the middle all the way to GH5s. I stumbled upon a GH4 (used, 4 years old) with 3 lenses (12-35mm f/2.8, 25mm f/1.8 and the 45-150mm f/3.5-5.6) and a Rode VideoMic all for the price of 1200 U.S dollars? Is it worth it? This kit is in another state but i'm in touch with the seller and everything seems to be working properly, what should i look in the camera, what "problems" should i be aware of? help please :c
Bra kvalitet den GH4 :D
This movie is really great!
a very successful short. it would be interesting how it would have turned out with a sony.
Eskild is missing.
This makes me want to purchase the Panasonic S5
Hey Guyz where can we see ur professional work that u do in ur company?
Maaan when I started filmmaking people were wondering, if Canon T3i (600d) is valid for filmmaking, I'm getting old xD
Can you do a review about the S5
I wish he could see Sony A7SIII coming out, all your arguments would have been solved right away. Just can't beat it
I still love my GH4. I rarely use it these days because I have the S5, S1, GH5s, and G9 as well. I just can't bring myself to sell it. Its a good backup if my GH5s or G9 go down.
I rarely use it myself as well as our production company has EVA1 and Canon C300 m iii, but I can’t sell it!
I miss him 🥺🥺
Yep i still have my gh5 and mix with my red
What a great talent Eskild had! What a sad loss! Excellent short film. Amazing how capable the GH4 is! In fact, independent films have an incredible atmosphere! I regret that the current films, even independent ones, have more and more a very North Americanized characteristic. A pausterization! Both in terms of equipment, as well as in terms of effects and editing! There are gains in some aspects, but there is a great risk of losing soul and depth! Perhaps this is the Indie magic: the idea and the creation, the creator and the Camera!
I still own three for talking head video. Perfect for that still.
I miss for Eskild
Osum
Tbh..i have one belief that if a camera can shoot at 1080p and atleast max 60fps..and has manual settings..and CAN interchang lens..ITS CAPABLE of filmmaking...YOUR TALENTS AND IDEA CAN ONLY LIMIT YOU..
IT IS FULLY CABLE!
Upgrade because ur skills have upgraded but dont upgrade because someone has it..
RIP that dude :/ sånn er livet.
RIP Eskild
Please show me your camera settings 🙏
It's shot in FULL HD with picture profile Cinelike D. And graded with Filmconvert Pro using the GH4 lut and "Super 35mm" look.
@@Andyax you're the goat.
not so great compare to what we can get in 2021 by cameras under 1500 euros
i should have bought a gh4 rather than piece of shit zcam e2c would've saved a lot of money that i could have spend on lights
No matter how technical and knowlegable you guys are or whatever, your shorts film are always boring and pointless. like most cinema channels on youtube. Whats the point putting this kinda money and effort for that?
This goes to show EVERYONE that you DON"T need equipment like the black magic cameras, red cameras Alexa cameras, incredibly expensive lighting etc. etc. all you need is dedication. A good story goes a long way it doesn't matter what you film it with, you have proven this. I know this was several years ago but you should update that on your page. UA-cam is filled with individuals who wants to make films or short films and we concentrate more on what camera we should get, what gimbals we should get, what lights we should get, the most expensive equipment, And all we need is a simple camera, dedication, a good story and the balls to go out and do it! I brought the GH4 because that's all I could afford at that time and some very cheap lights, and I went out and filmed an entire eight minute short film by myself playing multiple characters. Now I know is not as good as your short film, but I went out and did it anyway! And I gotta tell you something I learned a lot about filming by doing it on my own. I learn how to actually film with a GH4. I learned its limitations, I learned what I can and can't do with that camera. I love your videos I'm a long time fan I love what you guys are doing I know it's been a while but I am sorry for your loss. I love the van that you guys created, I love that you guys went out into the freezing cold and filmed, it was great. You have inspired me in a way you could not understand. In the next couple of weeks I will be shooting something similar to what you did in the mountains. I think that VJUS and all of its employees are one of the most authentic UA-camrs on this platform. Love you guys and love the videos!
Wise words! And thanks for your kind comment Guillermo :)
As you said: And all we need is a simple camera, dedication, a good story and the balls to go out and do it!
That is exactly what beginners and solo filmmakers should think about. Let's see if we can bring this topic in to a new video this year.
As we are a production company, and have created several films and videos before, we are interested in new gear simply to make things easier/quicker/faster for us. And off course sometime makes things actually possible for some clients. But that doesn't mean we make better film with that gear.
I'm glad you are enjoying your GH4. And feel free to share your film here in the comments if you want :)
