13:00 Keep in mind that the girl didn't blame Gyomei for the murders. She knew that he was protecting her from the demon but was too shocked to say it properly.
13:02 I prefer the fan translations on this one, they instead had the girl say "Demon!" "Demon!" over and over again due to her panic and the villagers assumed she meant Gyomei, then she later explains to him that she was trying to explain it was a demon attack but couldn't form the rest of the words EDIT: Now that I think about it, I could also interpret "that man is a monster" as her referring to the demon and not Gyomei in the same way - I just feel this would've been a much more tragic story for Gyomei as instead of the girl turning on him, she was just trying to do the right thing but physically couldn't
Actually your interpretation is true, in the manga extras it says that the girl (her name is Sayo) was saying in her testimony that she was talking about the temple intruder/demon but it got misinterpreted and they decided to arrest Gyomei. It stills bothers her after turning fourteen and because she coun't prove his innocence and wants to apologize to him. I do support the theory that the female Kakushi holding his hand in his final moments was actually her finally being with Gyomei as he was surrounded by the spirits of the temple children. That panel with all the kids telling gyomei that he shouldn't apologise, that they love him and have waited for him the whole time is just heartbreaking. It's great that he got reincarnated into a more peaceful life than his prior one.
The scar on Gyomei's head also reminds me of Jesus Christ's crown of thorns, maybe that plays into how he saved the kids but still suffered for his noble actions

I would like to add that Rhyolite magma/lava are often associated with the most explosive volcanic eruptions on Earth. This is due to the viscosity of this magma that doesn't allow gases to escape and this magma doesn't usually reach the surface and create volcanic cones (they do make rhyolite domes).
There is a side sketch in volume sixteen where the little girl was actually referring to the demon killing the orphans instead of Gyomei. My absolute favorite character in all of Demon Slayer. Loved his design ever since I saw it at the Hashira meeting and became a huge fan of him by the end of the Upper One fight when he reacted to the Mist Hashira's sacrifice. He truly will be the most dangerous character in Demon Slayer : Hinokami Chronicles as he will most likely have the longest range out of all the Slayers. Thank you Meti for this video and reminding me once again why this is such a well made character.
Honestly he’s my favourite pillar, I like a lot of the development the pillars went through, I really didn’t like Iguro but with both his backstory and his performance during the final arc I genuinely liked the guy.
Read the mangas, but I am still looking forward to watch the animated version once it comes out, especially the fight against Upper Moon1 Kokushibo and the final battle against Muzan :), just remembering that page I read a while ago at 15:33 , I probably will cry after watching the aftermath of the battle against Muzan. Man imagine Gyomei was on the Mugen train and killed Akaza. that would put fear on upper ranks (except 2 and 1) knowing a Hashira killed one of the strongest demons
Gyomei has battle spirit and thus is almost assuredly going to lose to akaza. It's a poor matchup for him due to akazas abilities. Even if gyomei was "stronger" strength does not garuntee victory in battle. Only way I see him winning there is if he holds akaza long enough for the sun to rise but with akaza not even truly trying to kill rengoku had he gone 100% against gyomei akaza wine probably 99 times out of 100
@@UnholyWrath3277 Gyomei would probably be able to crush akaza's head several times, but due to akaza's spirit, he would regenerate it back endlessly, so the only way i could imagine gyomei winning, would be if he somehow managed to pin down akaza with his chains and hold out until the sun came up.
@@hoesmad1456 I'm doubting it in a 1v1 akaza can pretty much read the movements and dodge it's not all about gyomeis power but also the fact that his style is power over speed. A little correction at 11:35: kaigaku didn’t intend to break the “don’t go out at night” rules but the other orphans kicked him out because they caught him stealing, and then proceeded lie to Himejima about Kaigaku’s whereabouts. Essentially, they left Kaigaku out for dead and it totally backfired on them
@@jakes8971 yeah I honestly feel bad for him, I think he’s a pretty realistic character tbh. At 11:02 (in the right corner) and 11:36 we can see how happy he was with everyone in the temple before all of that happened
@@scoobydoo5934 yeah I always thought he was kinda over hated in the community, he’s not really that evil but definitely a huge jerk, but it’s not like I blame him for hating Zensitu, and later they’re master, because he felt like he was being treated equal to a coward. (Zensitu is useful but Kaigaku never saw it before it was to late) He could’ve been one of my favorite demons, however he’s has way to little screen time, but at less I understand why he is the way he is now a little better. @@jakes8971 100% agree. The hate for him is just silly at times lmao. Even though he doesn’t have a lot of screen time, he’s actually one of my favourite characters in the whole series. Idk if it’ll happen, but I hope this channel will make a video on him too so people can see what an interesting character he really is!
He's stealing from orphans.... Dudes a piece of shit and selfish down to his core and he shows it time and time again. Add in that he's the direct antagonist to zenitsu and the hate is 100% justified.
Honestly if Gyomei became a demon, considering that would most definitely cure his blindness and only increase his strength which is above most demons, and that he would have even more extremely enhanced senses, we’ll take him at his strongest which is during the Kokushibo fight he got his mark and access to the see through world and just look at his extremely polished set of skills. He could probably beat Kokoshibo, and assuming Muzans curse does not affect him either hold his own against Muzan for a fairly long period of time or just flat out stalemate him

The reference to Zatoichi can in a sense be applied to Zenitsu as well. Since when he is asleep, his eyes are closed. Zenitsu is not using his eyes when he fights asleep.
A bit off topic but I just realised that Fujitora from One Piece was also probably inspired by Zatoichi It's pretty neat how two characters can have the same inspiration but be completely distinct from one another

Obviously this is my interpretation but I see akaza winning in almost every situation barring a scenario where the sun is almost rising and gyomei can pin him down
@@UnholyWrath3277 Bruh Gyomei would beat him up and chain him until sun goes up i mean dude was going toe to tor with Kokushibo who’s wayyyy stronger than Akaza
@@justsomeguywithoutamustach71 kokushibo doesn't read battle spirit to counter nor would gyomei ever beat kokushibo he just keeps up with him for awhile. Everything favors akaza I'm pretty sure the story even said 1 upper moon normally equals 3 hashira. I'm taking akaza
He deserved better... but then again, all of the pillars deserve better
Such beautiful character.
I love these videos and I had no clue he dropped this one
This is really good!
You could even call it... stone solid
Any character has a sad story
Kaigaku: it’s free real estate
Namu Amida Butsu 😭🙏
I may be soft outside but rock inside
Hail infinite Buddha
Yoooo! This video went love the moment I was going to start eating dinner, it couldn't have had a better time! :D
babe wake up, new Meti video
Question: What resources do you use for Japanese/Kanji translation? I mainly use google as I’m sad, and I’m wanting to better my methods of creating OCs. As names are incredibly important aspects, I’d love to hear some advice.
I would love to see this answered because I am curious as well.
me as well
Replying to see if he answers
Md too
Huh- interesting.
A little correction at 11:35: kaigaku didn’t intend to break the “don’t go out at night” rules but the other orphans kicked him out because they caught him stealing, and then proceeded lie to Himejima about Kaigaku’s whereabouts. Essentially, they left Kaigaku out for dead and it totally backfired on them
Dang that sucks, kinda makes me understand why Kaigaku worldview is so self centered
TLDR: seeing more of Kaigaku’s backstory made me like him as a character a lot more than before.
@@jakes8971 100% agree. The hate for him is just silly at times lmao. Even though he doesn’t have a lot of screen time, he’s actually one of my favourite characters in the whole series. I think he’s super fun to analyze because he’s so relatable. A lot of the things he did was horrible, yeah, but I think anyone would do what he did if they were in his situation. He’s very human.
He could probably beat Kokoshibo, and assuming Muzans curse does not affect him either hold his own against Muzan for a fairly long period of time or just flat out stalemate him
I love these demon slayer videos, can you please do Kokushibou or Akaza
When I saw him, his forehead scar and his white eyes I immediately thought of Fujitora (one piece) and Zatoichi
Love the demon slayer content bro keep it comin 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
The humble hulk who hates to harm.
Gyomei is a tank fr
Zatoichi reminds me of fujitora from one piece maybe he was inspiration for that character as well
When can we expect Building A Bastard: Kaigaku?
Himejima is such a sad and badass character.
I need a video about Stars and Stripes from my hero academia please hope you do a video about her and hope it is soon also love this videos keep up the great work
I love this man..
Just subbed, watached all your MGS videos's need a Solid Snake video haha
Only one pillar left 🐍
I love demon slayer 🥺
The reference to Zatoichi can in a sense be applied to Zenitsu as well. Since when he is asleep, his eyes are closed. Zenitsu is not using his eyes when he fights asleep.
zaroichi reminds me of fujitora like the eyes with no pupils and the cane sword
A bit off topic but I just realised that Fujitora from One Piece was also probably inspired by Zatoichi
It's pretty neat how two characters can have the same inspiration but be completely distinct from one another
No man is an island. Except for my main man Gyomei!!
My favorite character
I would love to see one of inosuke and tanjiro in the future
