Because of ONE FLEKKING IDJIT."

    Scientist: "Millions, sir."
Military: "Will, clearly we-" [Is immediately beaned with every loose object in the room.]

So he didn't forget, it's like he was rebuilt from a save point before the tragedy. But it sounds ridiculous that they couldn't figure out what happened. This guy has access to any and all DNA, goes around buying all kinds of weird biological stuff (and literally no one survives to snitch him out), but it's not one of them that did this stupid thing, no, somehow humans teleported a giant monster through space undetected. Also, it gives the impression that their world had a sizable population. And I don't care how small they are, if such a population was just 10,000 individuals, even a rabid honey badger couldn't end that many of them before they could evacuate at least half the population.

Then the Chimeric species over time evolves and creates its own civilisation without knowing about their dark past
Also this species would mostly likely diversify and spawn multiple new species so you would have a entire planet of carbon based super life forms

Uhm… yeah, the Lurvians kinda deserved to be removed from the universe’s gene pool if their Physicians in training are just allowed to do stuff like this without supervision. No camera footage, either? God damn…

Not so clever to ignore warnings about multi-species gen-splicing. Hubris.... the thought he would be a great mind, while still being a Student. He thought he would know and understand everything... and within a Day, it destroyed his Civilization.
He created something without knowing the Specs of the lifeforms linked to the DNA-Samples, ignored the Warning about self-replication.
Not sure what Species he mixed, but the features mentioned didnt sound good. To me, it sounded like Samples from a Snake or reptile in general (scales), Frog (webbed fingers, gills), human of course, Feline (pointed ears),.... the Hooves im not sure, there are several animals with hooves.
