Looking forward to watching. Thanks for interviewing Jon B (or Jonathan as I know him). And yes I’m biased, but that same grace, kindness, and passion has been there since his first cast at age 4. Proud of you, son.
nice comment, sir; bet it means alot to your son. I wanna see a fishing reunion on YouTue with him, Kayliegh, Mila, yourself and mrs B. what a video that would be. how about a thanksgiving or Christmas dinner podcast ?
I remember a video long ago, when you drove Jon to the airport early in the morning. He was just a young, sleepy kid, maybe like 19 years old…and when he got out of the car and said “love you” to you, and it made it into the published video. That moment sealed my feelings about what kind of man you raised.
I am 57 years old and I have been bass fishing since I caught that 8 inch bass from the bank at 5 years old! I was obsessed with it and as I got older it got even worse! LOL The Googans journey has been the most uplifting and exciting thing I have ever seen. I watched my twin grandsons just totally get consumed with it because of the Googans creativity and passion. Especially Jon B. Thanks for doing what ya'll do God bless
Thank you all for sharing the behind-the-scene reasons for accepting tolerance within the angler world and beyond. There are lessons here, not just for those who fish, but for everyone. Beautiful interview! Hugs, Jonathan. ~ma
So glad I stumbled across this video, had the pleasure of meeting jon b recently, and let me say, fisherman like u and him are keeping this sport thriving, especially for the younger generation of bass fishermen like me. Thank u Chris for all u do for this sport, ur efforts are not going unnoticed, even by us yungins.
In my opinion that is the best interview type fishing program I have ever seen. I didn’t really know who Jon B really even was. He has a great prospective on the sport of bass fishing that is not uniform to the thinking of the past. After this program I am an instant fan and I really appreciate you guys teaming with them to bring a different culture to the main stream fishing industry.
ok sooooo my first time fishing I was about 4 yrs old my dad took me fishing, and always fished growing up state side, and at 25 yrs of age I uprooted and moved abroad to Mexico. I didn't really do any research at all so when I got here I had no idea about fishing in Mexico (pretty dumb of me) any who I sustained an injury and during my healing process I was on UA-cam often and came across Jon B and instantly said I need to get gear and find a whole, well I did just that and I Kept watching his videos and bettered my (bass) fishing skills because of him. I just want to say thank you for a certain phrase you use "Keep Fishing Never Stop" because of that I have NOT stopped and I plan to not stop any time soon. Thank You to the fullest. Chris! Dude you're a fuggin beast man, it'll be years before I get to your level but both you and Jon B are the reason why I make an attempt at swimbaits thanks for the tips, and keep these podcasts going!
Jon B is the reason I got deeper into bass fishing and the reason I started making videos. He and LFG are some of the most genuine guys in the sport and it's so cool to see the fishing industry finally start to buy-in to what I think is the best way to "grow the sport", making relatable content that invites young people in to the broader spectrum of fishing. Will they all be on the Elites/BPT? Of course not. But they'll enjoy fishing in their own way and it's great to see you (Mr. Zaldain) get in on this. What a fantastic episode.
CHRIS AND TRAIT THE DYNAMIC DUO. THIS WAS A FANTASTIC PODSCAST. I LOVE TO SEE AND HEAR PEOPLE WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT SOMETHING JUST SIT AND HAVE A CANDID CONVERSTION ABOUT THAT PASSION. AGAIN WELL DONE AND THANKS FOR SHARING. SOUTHERN INDIANA BASS FISHERMAN
Whatt so glad I found this. Huge fan of yours and super excited that you've teamed up with the googans to produce some new baits. New to the swim bait realm but super excited to get my hands on this new product when it comes out. Jon B was the first fishing youtuber I started watching as a kid, and seeing the growth and success they have generated has truly been inspiring to me. Gave me the foundation to keep my drive to be a successful fishermen going.
Absolutely love what you guys are doing with this podcast, and the incredible stories by Jon B. As a CA native I can relate to the CA fishing. It has changed significantly over the years with so many regulations put in place. So many hoops you have to jump through. Take Jon B's idea and run with it because it would be an awesome story pulling in guys like Skeet, MDJ, Greg Blanchard, Obdie Williams, and Ish Monroe.
love watching the interview with Jon B. I have been watching jon B for years...., awesome to see colab. Definable would love to see more colabs with Jon B and other googan members... would luv to see ya go fishing together and talk fishing jargon... I have just recently started watching you and have subscribed to your youtube... Definitely would like to see more videos with you, just take us on your journey.... and give us your audience everyday fishing ideas of type of baits and your thought process... As a combat Army Veteran this relaxes my mind and I always look forward for the next video content...doesn't always have to be fishing .... love the podcasts.. and the journey with the googan s.... love your mindset and direction you are headed..... Hooah!!!! AATW!!!
Man, this was an incredible episode. Jon b is an awesome guy and I’m a huge fan of yours Chris. This just restores my faith in people and fishing, looking forward to more. Thanks man
You want to put it in real perspective of how influential the Googans and Jon B are? I never even heard of you Chris Zaldain until you had Jon B on your podcast, lol😂 You are a big time fisherman and super successful, one of the best, but you were unknown to me until you interviewed Jon B, now I subscribe to your channel and pod cast! I am a 49 year old angler and I love watching the Googans do their thing! I have learned a ton from them and I respect their passion for the sport and their drive to innovate. These tournament guys can hate on them all they want but I don’t see their brand on anglers boats! Partnering with Googan was one of the smartest things you have done as an angler- they will support and back you like no other company! Good luck on the trail- I hope you win them all!
I am 55 years old and I enjoy the videos. I as a kid watched Bill Dance and enjoyed it because I just wanted to learn the accessibility to information is great as a kid there was no peer group in my town or on TV that was doing what I did. I would have loved to have this accessibility. I started from shore then float tube then old crappy boat with a paper graph that didn't work. I watched and observed, read and struggled. You are definitely bringing the sport to the next generation.
Chris, I’m a tournament fisherman that found myself thinking these guys were dorks, but couldn’t stop watching them. I found myself getting into them getting better and understanding how to bass fish. Honestly seeing you and Scott hook up with them made me realize I was the same coming up. Anyways, love watching all you guys! Jon, so sick watching you catch those fish on forward facing sonar. God bless you all! Ps. I have been a swimbait fisherman since the fist HUDs and the castaic trout swim baits.
Have followed both JonB and professional bass fishing for a long time now… I subscribed to your channel for the first time specifically because of this interview. This was super interesting. Thanks for the interview and not putting yourself on some pedestal & being too big to have this conversation with JonB.
"People forget about the midwest" Ah yeah they do. Man everyone and their mothers are fishing in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan. I have no idea why more people are not trying to go after that market
Best podcast I’ve seen in awhile about fishing!! Love the discussions y’all had and Jon b is for sure inspiring and someone I look up too! Keep it up!!
Definitely this one motivated me to focus on the story aspect. Growing up near where Jon went to college and then leaving home for a life in the military and fishing gets my mind off the daily grind definitely something positive to work toward 🔥
Great interview! Been a big fan of all y’all for a while now. I can see great things coming in the future from you guys. I’m also from San Jose. Recently relocated to Oklahoma. Keep it up. Catch ya on the next one.
Another awesome episode guys! Have been following Jon and the Googans for a long time and love the way they went about it and now the cross over into professional fishing. Brilliant!
This was awesome. It was great to shed light on Googan as well as what goes into Essentially building a brand. Just straight up good stuff postive vibes. Definitely worth the watch. Keep it up.
You know I have been fishing for over 30 years. Its nice to hear this pod cast. I have always liked professional tournament fishing but I always thought they were disconnected from the regular angler. Even as a young boy watching fishing shows. I enjoyed watching but they were not connecting or teaching me something that was relevant to me. Its funny as I am in my 30s and 40s I found myself connecting to these young men. What is even better is watching my children engaged with me while I Bass fish. I can give the Googans some of the credit for that.
High Trait, you are getting some great guests and they are real people like me, and tell it like it is! I guess I’m a Googan too! LMAO! I’m 69 years old and still learning different ways to catch those bass. I like Chris’s teaching technique a lot he makes it easy to understand what he’s doing. I really liked the smallmouth tournament I watched last night, he’s making watchable videos very interesting and it’s like we’re in the boat with him! He is very personable to who’s watching his videos. You guys make a great pair! Keep it coming ! Thx for the technique! And always keep the faith!👍🥸🙏
I've only watched 20 minutes so far, really impressed with this guy, and also thinking about understanding fishing at the highest level from these three perspectives: John B., UA-camr and DIY young personality; Josh Jones, high tech and passionate lunker plunker, and then Matt Herron speaking truth about making a living as a competitive bass angler. You guys give them a great environment to be honest and talk about stuff they know and care about and have worked on and it's really interesting for me to see bass fishing talked about in a more real and personal way. Special mention to Rick Clunn becoming one with the absolute and moving his chakras up through the central axis of his sponsor jersey.
Super good show! Love to hear the details of how you all are working together and it sounds amazing. Look forward to see what the future holds for you all.
I was a Marshall on lake fork the last 2 years and last yr I rode with Matsushita on day 1. So cool to watch him. So different.. also seeing 4 livescopes on his boat is crazy too... lol
I wish you guys (chris) would stop worrying about how long the podcast is. DONT PUT A TIME LIMIT on this type of content. Look at Joe Rogan, his can be 4 hours long but i’ll listen to the whole thing! When you get an interesting guest, let the conversation just flow! This was great and I hope you can let some others go longer than the 1 hour mark. I know chris wants to keep it around 1 hour because on all of the pods I have watched so far, you get to that one hour mark and he starts trying to force the wrap up.
Northern California fan here! I am a couple hours from the Delta, Clearlake, and Shasta. But the spotted bass fishing at New Melones Reservoir has been even better than Shasta. You guys should definitely come check it out
What yall were saying about being able to relate to people is so true. Personally I think that’s exactly why someone like Gman (swindle) is such a favorite all over; he is a man of the people and doesn’t act like a celebrity at all.
Chris is a stand up guy I brought my son to lake Champlain to watch the elite’s and my son brought a swimbait for Chris to sign and he not only took the time to sign the bait but he also got down on my sons level and talked to us for a few min I bet my son will never forget that few mins his entire life !!!!! So just wanted to say thanks again Chris !!!!!!!
That’s a great story. Paul Elias almost forgot his big Mann’s Jelly Worms. Then grabbed them and ended using them to win the tournament. What was that Amistad or Falcon? Somewhere down in Texas.
I love Jon's content. Even though I'm not a Googan, I get a lot of enjoyment out of watching stuffy anglers get irrationally angry about the fact that some young guys created a brand. In Mark Zona's tribute to Aaron Martens after his untimely death, he mentioned how there are preconceptions about how an angler (or at least a bass angler) looks, acts, sounds, etc. Part of Aaron's appeal was how different he was in terms of both personality and approach to fishing. I think we need more people who break the mold like that, especially if we want fishing to resonate with more people.
Great Show! I'm defiantly no pro, but fishing has always been fun. I really like a gear that Googan has put out and there baits keep getting better! Cant wait till the new Zaldaingerous Swimbait comes out that yall been designing.
Loving these, it's like a breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work... Flair would be a GREAT follow up for your next Googan. The outdoors is a bigger picture which includes Bass fishing. Sad, California has regulated fishing away. I didn't know that, but I understand now.... 🍺🎣 BTW, I'm 60 yr old and have been following the Googans/UA-camrs, since before they were Googans. I wanted to learn how to bank bass fish. The reason... I could relate. I have a Pink Trait rod with a Daiwa JDM Steez A reel on it as one of my setups too...🤣 🍺🎣
The most in-touch fishing podcast from an “industry pro” ever made!?! Thanks for keeping it real, I don’t think there was a single point you were wrong about. It was weird really, it was like you were reading my mind lol. I watched the googans from their beginning, like all the channels before they united into the crew. The industry is so far behind. That’s why the googans have excelled. They literally created their own market. Damn Impressive. Trust yourselves on your new directions and endeavors. Your dead on imo.
You probably get this this all the time but if you guys ever get up this way (Iowa) I’ll take ya to some places around southern Iowa. No camera just some fun fishing 😂 great podcast, stoked to see more from you guys
@zaldaingerous did you ever put that 700 glide bait on your deck in a tournament? Lol. If not, bro you have to do it. I bet you will get a bunch of subs for sure. Keep up the great content brotha, I just watched the Sabine episode and thought it was really good.
I caught SO MUCH hate when i got sponsored by MTB and Catch co because they work with Googan. Still do. It's crazy. Oh well... still growing lol. Great podcast, dudes!
That woman is straight gangster! She has her stuff together and runs her business like a boss. This is the fourth of their podcasts I’ve watched, and she impresses me more with each episode. Chris, you certainly have great talent at fishing and apparently picking a wife as well. Congrats on winning at life!
My all time favorite fishing UA-camr is Captain Jeff. He's cool to me because he used it to brand his guiding so he wasn't trying to monetize stuff, just put up engaging content, and that lets him make fun of all the commercialism in fishing.
I loved hearing Jon’s thoughts in this one. I remember messaging him years ago to go do a river float in certain parts of my area of Texas and he responded that’s a great idea and now to see him hitting the spots I suggested. You 2 have a great podcast format. I would love to see you do sit downs with you tubers in the 10k-100k subscriber range to talk about their growth and passion. I just recently found Jon again and had thought he quit making videos. I found that I quit watching the channels that grow to a bigger subscriber base over 100k. I think they lose a certain aspect to their videos. Not sure what it is, I think you tube stops suggesting them to me.
I second what Jon B said, would love to see Chris come back out to CA and fish out here. You have a big audience here but as a CA angler I want to see you represent us more whether it’s just a story reference or whatever.
It costs a lot of money to film out in California, right now. The cost of fuel alone to get my rigs that way + the other hoops required to fish lakes as an out of stater, find RV parks that have big rig spaces, etc. Even though I want to, I am not sure I can justify it financially. Trait’s worked through costs numerous times and believes we’d have to dedicate two months to make it worthwhile and right now, that sort of gap only comes towards the end of the year. Maybe in 2023 when we are already out there for the US Open we can make a West Coast film swing happen.
I'm finally having a free second to watch this (boats broke🤦♂️) you wouldn't believe the amount of gruff I get because of everything Googan that I have. What they don't understand is I had basically given up on bass fishing and this new deal called Googan was recommended to me by my nephew (14 at the time) and I thought huh it's got this kid excited I might as well check it out and see what the hype is. Fast forward I have a nice bass boat again. On the water 3-4 days a week. Tournaments again and best of all. I GET TO SPEND THAT TIME WITH MY SON!!! If you find any reason to hate on that, look in the mirror and re-evaluate yourself and see that this is bringing kids in droves out to the water fishing and having fun the same way we all did as kids! Sorry for the novel but I hope it's seen and read with open minds. With that said big thanks to all the guys and ladies involved with Googan along with all of the affiliates.
Hats off to chris and your daughter for following through with this podcast as an idea and hopefully getting more people on board to continue to actually grow the exposure to this sport 🤘🤘👏👏
I love the California Bass fishing stories idea. I would love to see that tied in with the stories of California Anglers like Arron Martens or techniques like roboworms/dropshot or swimbaits, how it's changed over the years, how it's different...
Awesome insight! @trait, gurl! you need to come back to the competitive scene. I miss your content and it sounds crazy but its super relatable to me and was a HUGE motivation for me. I hope we see you soon. 🙌
Being from California I couldn’t agree with you guys more when it comes to bass fishing, as someone that lives in south Orange County, I have fished Mission Viejo Lake a bunch. Golden Allege destroyed everyone’s big bass dreams. My personal opinion the reason why people really don’t care about bass fishing out here to much is we have the ocean which is a few hours of a drive from almost anywhere in CA. Deep sea fishing is its own community within in itself ever since the Big Bluefin Tuna have came up 10 years ago that seems what everyone has there focus on, and big bass just died off. Being a lover of both types of fishing. Big bass, and Big Bluefin, I don’t see why people can’t just do both? Doesn’t make sense to me but that’s just my personal opinion. Anyways love your podcast, and keep killing it.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎣🎣🎣
definitely have one of the better podcast! if possible it would be a pretty cool podcast to find out how other pro anglers from different countries do what they do and how they endure the language barrier and moving to a different country to chase their dreams and passion! keep it up!
Chris and wifey - thanks for airing this. Admittedly, I have been anti-Googan for a handful of reasons, but there is also that element of change and not truly knowing what they're about. I have liked Jon B from the start of watching him, and it is really cool to hear what he's about and believes Googan is about. The one thing I have admired, from the time I learned of the Googan Squad, is the potential for getting masses of younger generations into fishing. It may be a radically different platform than some older anglers, but if the goal is the same (to share knowledge and get more people into fishing) then they are all wins. My 2 cents. This is a cool episode.
Looking forward to watching. Thanks for interviewing Jon B (or Jonathan as I know him). And yes I’m biased, but that same grace, kindness, and passion has been there since his first cast at age 4. Proud of you, son.

Teamwork 🤝
Needed a kick in the ass in regards to youtube and staying on the grind.
Especially in getting back on my outdoors channel.
Thank you!!!
Northern California fan here! I am a couple hours from the Delta, Clearlake, and Shasta. But the spotted bass fishing at New Melones Reservoir has been even better than Shasta. You guys should definitely come check it out
Good show! Was hyped when my dad got to be your Marshall at St. John’s earlier this year.
Weird not having the St John’s on our schedule this 2023 season
2 of my favorite anglers! Relate to Jon a lot. Have learned a lot from watching y’all both over the years
What yall were saying about being able to relate to people is so true.
The least I can do 👊🏽 hope to see you and your son at Champlain this year
@@Zaldaingerous we are planning on coming again we can’t wait !!!!!!
Great podcast Chris Jon B a great ambassador for the sport and I love the content ❤😂
That’s a great story. Paul Elias almost forgot his big Mann’s Jelly Worms. Then grabbed them and ended using them to win the tournament. What was that Amistad or Falcon? Somewhere down in Texas.
I can’t wait until Chris pulls that swim bait out on his deck at the first big Fish elite event of 2023! That is so effing dope
Looking forward to more of these!
Trait, Z another great watch. Jon is a real one 👊🏼
He is a real one
So awesome !!! Going to watch again in case I missed something !!!!
Haha appreciate it Gary 🙏
I love Jon's content. Even though I'm not a Googan, I get a lot of enjoyment out of watching stuffy anglers get irrationally angry about the fact that some young guys created a brand. In Mark Zona's tribute to Aaron Martens after his untimely death, he mentioned how there are preconceptions about how an angler (or at least a bass angler) looks, acts, sounds, etc. Part of Aaron's appeal was how different he was in terms of both personality and approach to fishing. I think we need more people who break the mold like that, especially if we want fishing to resonate with more people.
I agree
Love the podcast and how yall left everything in you were gonna cut
Trait won’t cut much lol she’s ruthless 🤣
BTW, I'm 60 yr old and have been following the Googans/UA-camrs, since before they were Googans.
Good show guys! Nice to see Trait doing well. Is this podcast on iTunes or anything besides the UA-cams?
Search “the bilge” on Apple Podcasts
As someone in IL I felt the end so hard! 😂🤣
Lolol
One thing i always like about his videos is he is direct. He not unsure of himself. He needs to be a spokesman for a product. Oh wait he is....GOOGAN
You probably get this this all the time but if you guys ever get up this way (Iowa) I’ll take ya to some places around southern Iowa. No camera just some fun fishing 😂 great podcast, stoked to see more from you guys
Freaking awesome podcast Chris. Really enjoyed it. You and Jon b are my favorite fisherman out there. 👊👊
Dude thanks for checking it out 👊🏽
Are these episodes ever gonna be uploaded to Google Podcasts or Spotify???
Right now here and Apple Podcasts. Trait’s been busy but will get the RSS feed connected to the others soon. She’s a one woman show at the moment!
@@Zaldaingerous awesome! Can't wait to listen to It during the commute and tackle prep haha
@zaldaingerous did you ever put that 700 glide bait on your deck in a tournament? Lol. If not, bro you have to do it. I bet you will get a bunch of subs for sure. Keep up the great content brotha, I just watched the Sabine episode and thought it was really good.
Jon is a good dude! Enjoyed the show! 👊
👊🏽
BTW Chris, I first watched you on a googan squad podcast when JB was talking about his 14 pound bass. You was sitting next to Mike . good stuff 1
I caught SO MUCH hate when i got sponsored by MTB and Catch co because they work with Googan. Still do. It's crazy. Oh well... still growing lol. Great podcast, dudes!
Chris- you don’t have to answer that,we’ll cut it out
Trait- I want to know 🤷🏼♂️I’m not cutting that out 😂😂😂
Priceless marriage content
That woman is straight gangster! She has her stuff together and runs her business like a boss. This is the fourth of their podcasts I’ve watched, and she impresses me more with each episode. Chris, you certainly have great talent at fishing and apparently picking a wife as well. Congrats on winning at life!
My all time favorite fishing UA-camr is Captain Jeff. He's cool to me because he used it to brand his guiding so he wasn't trying to monetize stuff, just put up engaging content, and that lets him make fun of all the commercialism in fishing.
I just became a fan your an awesome fisherman and from what i can see an awesome person looking forward to seeing more
Thank you 🙏 👊🏽
I loved hearing Jon’s thoughts in this one.
Really like Jon and his stuff. Superb! Get Alex on!!
Lol! Not Stalking just a fan.
I was introduced by the googans and now follow bass masters.
Great Video.
We all need to use the hatred and hater comments as fuel. Loved this video, Jon always keeps it real!!!
Hats off to chris and your daughter for following through with this podcast as an idea and hopefully getting more people on board to continue to actually grow the exposure to this sport 🤘🤘👏👏
That’s my wife 😅
@@Zaldaingerous 🤦♂️ *embarrassed* leaves chat 😂
@@Zaldaingerous 💀💀🤣
What other platforms can I listen on? Like to listen as I drive. Can’t do it on your tube
Apple Podcasts - search “The Bilge” … Clunn episode is up and this one will be up this week
I am late to teh game on watching this video, but it has enlightened me to a lot about the youtube world.
I love the California Bass fishing stories idea. I would love to see that tied in with the stories of California Anglers like Arron Martens or techniques like roboworms/dropshot or swimbaits, how it's changed over the years, how it's different...
That would be cool! We’ve got a couple months blocked out this fall for the West Coast.
What platforms can we find podcast ? Love you to get Larry Nixion or Denny brauer on.
Good stuff love the deeper talk
Search “the bilge” on Apple podcasts
Found it thanks
Awesome insight! @trait, gurl! you need to come back to the competitive scene. I miss your content and it sounds crazy but its super relatable to me and was a HUGE motivation for me. I hope we see you soon. 🙌
I’m mulling through things right now but have some things for 2023 I’m pretty focused on that will keep me pretty tied up -trait
Anyways love your podcast, and keep killing it.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎣🎣🎣
Never stop tour was awesome
Loved this
definitely have one of the better podcast! if possible it would be a pretty cool podcast to find out how other pro anglers from different countries do what they do and how they endure the language barrier and moving to a different country to chase their dreams and passion! keep it up!
We will try and get Taku on!
🙏👊🏽
I been watching them for years. I got my sons to watch them too.
Come to Minnesota!!!!!
