Dawa Gyaltshen FNC is a top 5 team actually.They can definitely make Semis at least,they did it very often in the past.The teams aren’t overhyped though,mechanically EU has produces gods now,Caps is in terms of raw skill far better than any Asian midlaner aside from Rookie and Ucal. Asian teams only have better macro,but the gap has almost closed now
Tbh I think there could be a possibility where we get na vs EU final or NA vs RNG or EU vs RNG I'm hoping for NA vs EU I believe in our boys RNG will hopefully be placed on same side as KT so we avoid KT Which in turn we could avoid EU since IG would be on the other side forcing EU on the side of KT and RNG

I got to say, Vitality gave every team the hope that they can defeat even the best (they went 2-0 against Gen G and 1-1 against RNG). Props to Vitality and C9 for surviving the group of death (even tho Vit didn't qualify for Quarter).
Not to be a stickler for grammar, but VIT didn't survive the GoD, but they did thrive in it, and that's something to be praised.
Chay Chay yea they didn't survive but that's because of c9, not because of the expected GenG RNG domination.
Obv. My point was that they did really well, but saying that they 'survived' wasn't an accurate use of the word, because they were cut at the end of the day, in spite of their stellar performance.
Chay Chay even a 3-4 record can be considered surviving in such a group. yeah they didn't survive but they definitely were. that's why it's past tense now - 'survived'. in the moment they were 'surviving'.
I still laugh at how Gambit post-game C9 would not admit to the fault that they lost to a better team. They kept blaming it on this and that; but never acknowledged C9 as anything to rival against. Even going as far as mocking them and saying they won't make it in the matchup against any of the other EU teams.
i really like c9 but i also feel so bad for vit , they have played so so good and showed that any team can beat any team in this tournament , it was a good run for you even you didnt make it out of groups , we love you vitality

I have always been hugely impressed with C9's international performance. Even though C9 always chokes in NA playoffs, C9 nearly always outperforms every other NA team and really sends the message not to underestimate NA anymore. Gotta love C9!

Didn't see the day live, but woke up to my Twitter feed seeing that they got out and almost beat RNG again. Ever since the end of NA regular season, this is the c9 team I wanted to see and they delivered. Watching the replays of the day were amazing too. Best group stage at worlds I've ever seen

against RNG they could 100% cut it. if the tie breaker did happen, it would've meant that RNG went 0-3, so they would've been very tilted going into the tb. Even though they lost to c9 vitality have the kind of mindset that isn't affected at all by crushing defeats. had GenG come in clutch, I would've placed my bets on vit.
Kinda sucks how Gen G. ran it down against RNG. I had my bets on VIT if they ever did go on a tiebreaker against RNG. Man, I kinda wish Griffin or KZ got there instead of Gen G.

This group was called group of death becuz of GEN.G (SSG) and RNG, but after seeing how Gen.G performed. Naw, this ain't the group of death.
Any group with RNG and a Korean team is the group of death. Saying otherwise is arrogant.
A group of death is a group that has teams that are within the same skill range. Especially with how it turned out it is a group of death. Everyone played nearly on the same level as each other except GenG
A group of death very well means that a team like Gen G could end up looking bad.
what group is then. group a has no Chinese team, group c has TL and a wildcard team that's worser than TL, no way can that be GoD, and group d has 100t and GRex; basically guaranteed qf for fnc and ig. GenG had the exact same roster that swept SKT in the finals last year. you can't say this wasn't the group of death.
@@ATP980 Gen was the group who also denied Griffin and KZ to get into worlds this year. Gen G was very disappointing this year.

Mitch Nelson group of death is determined before worlds even start so looking at the group last years worlds winner, best team in china, and third best team in eu yea at the time that was definitely the group of death for c9

It was the group of death because it consisted of China's 1st seed, The defending champions in Gen.G and the 2nd seed EU team in Vitality. So presumably it was the hardest group to get out of for any of the teams in it.
Kt Roolster won lck champions summer play offs this year, They are obviously the best KR team at the tournament. Vitality are bunch of clowns with inconsistent gameplans only. And Royal got firt place in the group anyway. Apart from Royal this Group was no big deal.
KT has nothing to do with this group so I don't see why you included them. Vitality almost came 2nd in the group so i wouldn't say they are clowns that are inconsistent. All of the group B teams had the potential to come and show up and get out the group, that is why it was considered the group of death. Most of the other groups had two teams you knew for sure was going to get out of groups, group B had favorites but no guarantees.
Group Of Death? How so? it was an easy group. It was just vitality and c9 fighting for the second place in the group. It was literally 50/50. Rng were sure to be first and Gen. g were sure to lose to everyone. So, with it being 50/50, i don't know how a single matchup can be named a"group", let alone a "group of death".
Gen.g is actually the 2017 world champions so they weren't expected to lose
and it was considered a grouo of death because the tournament favorites (RNG) and the former world champions (GENG) is in that group so no one expected C9 or VIT to get out of that group.

Words are nothing. The past does not matter. They say all this "group of death" thing only for the hype of the audience. Here is what is worth of being call deadly: ktRolster. They showed some sick attitude and strong plays during the spring and summer split. Smeb is currently, hands down, the best top laner in the world.
And... KT gets beat by IG. Hmmmm it seems you have no clue what the fuck you're talking about.
That doesn't mean something. Kt are still better than almost every team being at words right now. It's one thing to be the best and another to fail proceeding through the tournament. When it comes to skills they are uncontested in the current Worlds. But that doesn't mean they will win.
