Same, I started re-watching the anime during lockdown in 2020 and found his channel from that, and eventually I started getting recommended other Yugitubers like Cimo, TeamSam, etc. which drew me back into the card game and it spiraled from there. So I consider TGS my gateway back into the game.
This is what yugioh is about! The FUN of the game not the competitive sweats (I have a lot of respect for competitive players but that just isn’t who I am)
It's cool that you won that Yuma Utopia Ray mat but I was able to buy it from the regional I attended years ago. Back when Lightsworns, Paleoz, and Pendulum were the meta. I bought it because the series and monster that brought me back to Yu-Gi-Oh was Zexal and Utopia. XYZ and Ritual are my favorite summoning mechanics. And in 2016 we got Chaos Max. Not exactly meta defining but still really dope for the time.
DistantCoder and TGS Anime are my favorite + the most attractive yugitubers, I love this collaboration. The fact I wrote this while listening to Coder ask TGS about his underwear in the opening of the video.
Ngl, I'd be pretty stoked to see a history or retrospective series with older games from DistantCoder. If he's got a big collection, the b roll would be great, I'm just not sure if DC will do skits or not. Best of luck with it man. Oh and shouts for TGS being down for an interview, appreciate his vids covering the anime giving some spotlight to series folks may have not watched
Great collab for sure. I picked up on yugioh content on UA-cam thanks to TGSAnime archetype and lore videos. Incredible to see him interacting with other content creators.
I kinda feel like casuals and competitive players actually can’t ever get along cause there will always be this tension. And I don’t see what could be done to relieve this tension. Gutting the best decks(like take basically all the decks on someone’s recent format tier list and just nerf the hell out of all of them, tier 1-rouge.) wouldn’t solve it cause then players will just gravitate to what is the best decks of the remaining. Then those decks would become optimized for top level play and once again the “casual” player will feel left behind. *NOTE: when I say “causal player” I am not talking about players who consider themselves “casual” but play a competent if lower powered deck like marincess or sky striker, I’m talking about those who play something like dark magician or blue eyes and just play all the support for the archtype regardless if it’s good or bad, like playing eye of timaus or rampage with eyes of blue respectively.* *NOTE 2: I do consider myself a “competitive player” (though I do play somewhat uncompetitive decks like right now I’m playing dogmatika bystial) and as such, this notion is coming from someone who, when they run into said blue eyes or dark magician player whose end board has basically no interaction, I just kinda roll my eyes cause I’m not going to get any competitive challenge out of this, even if they do end up beating me.*
@@vileluca we just need to make goat format, edison format or hat format official Its already one of the most popular unoffical yugioh format , why not turn them into official format rather than making a new format that no one will plays? (See time wizard format made by konami)
I'm loving seeing these interview type videos with UA-camrs. I really enjoyed mbt playing with the congressman and the interview that mbt did with his wife. On an unrelated note...How do we submit Masterduel replays and decklists to Coder in hopes he'll check them out?
Can someone answer me if you can affect monster, which are uneffected by Monster effects, with darklord monsters and their trap cards and if you could negate their effects with spell/trap negates.
If the Darklord monster is copying the effect of a Spell/Trap, then it is a monster effect (so it wouldn't affect a monster unaffected by monster effects)
Hey Coder. The retro gaming channel you are describing kinda sounds something like the gaming historian maybe you should check it so you have a better idea of things you can do and maybe do differently.
We are basically at League of Legends level of learning curve as far as the game goes. Takes years of time to get anywhere sort of competitive and understanding even the basics like PSCT and effect activations
If you really wanted to, you could learn everything you needed to know in like a month. Turn based games, and especially TCGs can never compare to games where reactions, speed, and specific inputs are factors. If you know every single card in Yugioh and every ruling, you can go netdeck and win games just off of drawing good hands and knowing what to do. If you know every single interaction in an FPS or MOBA, that won't save you if you can't aim.
A collab i didnt expect happening ever
❤👍
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
So happy seeing Sam interacting with others in the community. Was his videos that got me into Yugioh in 2021 after not playing since I was young young

And a decent player as well.
Love seeing TGS on a collab. This is great. Dont usually see him with other yugitubers.
Awesome collab AND hearing Goldennova mentioned so soon made me geek inside
That's what you absolutely love to hear
Chaddest Cyber Dargon user online, meets Coder. Epic video I didn't know it was needed in my life
Such a fun Collab. I love these more casual videos just has a different feel to them.

Well, this is an unexpected crossover
Always been a big fan of Sam's and I show up to his streams every Saturday at 11:30 AM PST. :-) What a wholesome interview.

If this new Coder Channel isn’t called RetroCoder, we riot
So apparently GoldenNova power-creeped TGS anime.

Yo! TGS Anime and Distant Coder Collab!? Heck yeah!!!
Awesome to see Sam finally starting to collab

More Yugioh formats would help.
A "legacy" format for those who don't want to take 15 minute turns.

@@thaariqbinaziz2821 I don't like the old formats but I might actually would try HAT if it was supported and I could get anything to fire.
I hope we can see the Master Duel match in video format. Cool interview, by the way.
17:28 you just KNOW hes talking about Ruggles here lmao
I always love it when I watch box openings and they give love to the older and more casual cards, so wholesome
This was so wholesome and sweet!
The true OG remember sams anime related unboxing videos like loot boxes also Fun fact sam was actually the first yugioh type UA-camr i ever watched
My two favorite yugitubers. The most humble. Nice and real people. 💙🎉
Now I have to look back to find the games they played
Also big shout for the demon slayer sound cancelling setup 😎
4:09 Of course T.G. stands for True Gaming.
My fav "lore" effect is Swordsoul Longyuan. Dump Mo Ye and you've summoned Qixing Longyuan canonically lol.
The collab we didn’t know we wanted until we got it
Ruxin catching shade left and right 😂
lol, the video is titled a question and begins with „You play flood gates.“
Mate!! There's your next contestant for What's In The Box! Please make it happen! I wanna see Sam haggling with Gage! Please make it happen!!
these kind of videos are cool to watch
Eiyo, actually just started playing yugioh this january because of his dark magician archetype video lmao.

I love the yugioh lofi beats in the background
oh wow, this video is epic.
AYYYYYY ITS THE BOY TGS!
Bro the Yu Gi Oh crossover
They would print Zelda backwards in Canada

my two fave yugioh creators🥹
I was todays years old when I found out about the second meaning of MST
Beard bros. TGS and Coder
Wait, where can I find the Sky Striker manga?
Where can I watch the full segment? I want to see those duels lol
Coders twitch is full of subathon vids lol need the specific one
That new channel sounds interesting.
Subathon content keeps on giving!
My favorite deck of all time was a skill drain malefic deck XD
If you want to collab with a casual player, you can try Rosemi (from nijisanji, vtuber, master duel player, very fun to watch)
Hey Coder. The retro gaming channel you are describing kinda sounds something like the gaming historian maybe you should check it so you have a better idea of things you can do and maybe do differently.
Cool video
Bro I NEED the retro channel STAT
Maaallleeeffficsss
Thought you f'ing got Destiny for some reason but even better haha
I'm wondering... how does one gets banned from irl yugioh?. To me it sounds like getting banned out of the library
Bro tgs has some great vids too

not really, i got in last year, learned pretty quickly.
@@strangevol5264 Yeah, but you know, he's right about one thing, ygo is the lol of card games.
For tcg? yeah, it scares me.
Masterduel is a piece of cake tho, game literally prevents you fucking up the boardstate.
