Can drains press or interfere with nerves? I have a drain placed for abscess drainage in my groin from septic shock surgery. I have intense nerve shocks down leg. Drain placed oct 16 2019, abscess is not evident but still draining fluid/blood
i’m not a doctor but when i had surgery (gallbladder removal) the jp drain that i had was still pumping out the fluid for a while, so that means that there was free fluid in my abdomen, therefore if there is still drainage from your drain then there is more than likely still fluid, which could cause an obstruction if it is not being drained. i hope this helps, like i said i’m not a doctor but i am trying to become one!
