The thing I appreciated the most was how they didn’t make Orlok’s relationship with Ellen romantic or tragic. It was portrayed as extremely predatory I hate it when Dracula is portrayed as a tragic monster/sex symbol when he should be a bloodthirsty monster.
Exactly, it's a very important element of the terror in the story that goes over a lot of people's heads, well the haters of the movie specifically. They show from the very beginning that Ellen is a victim and obsession of Orlok. And I really wasn't expecting some of the sequences to be as bone chilling as they were.
That is the biggest flaw with this movie/version. Like Eggers, you and many completely miss the point and it makes the entire movie/premise unconvincing/silly. You say Orlock’s relationship to Ellen is just predatory and he is just a cold blooded thirsty killer😂? Doesn’t make sense. Flawed. 1. If he is a stone cold blooded killer with no deep feelings/attachment to Ellen…why would he choose to kill himself for her? Even after realizing the sun was coming up, he continued to feed on her though he knew it meant he would die?? Why kill himself for her if he’s a cold blooded killer who only looks at her as a meal. Even worse…she’s NOT even a pure blood virgin. We all know that blood is tainted and clearly not as delicious yuck 🤢 😂. So it can’t be her blood that is soooo intoxicating. She def ain’t a virgin. Eggers does not sell us on why Orlok would kill himself for her. It’s completely illogical. Ellen did not provide any believable attributes to make such a powerful creature fein for her that much. Not convincing. 2. Orlok appeared shy, weak, timid, and embarrassed of himself in this version. Why would a creature of such power and ferocity feel the need to hide in shadows in his OWN home/castle from a weak visitor. Makes no sense. Gimmicky.
The movie was quality grim dark, gothic horror. I'm a fellow Berserk fan and I was not prepared for some of the disturbing imagery, Eggers didn't hold back with this one. I really liked Ellen and Thomas as a couple and the infernal interfearence from Orlok, Bill Skarsgard nailed his roll. This Orlok is a genuine menace, so powerful, manipulative, Jaded, and uncaring that you just want him to die and leave the rest of the characters alone. But not even his death was satisfying, he just took too much with him in the end. Robert Eggers had the idea of this remake in his head since he was a kid, and I won't forget this story for a very long time.
This movie was UNBELIEVABLY good. The most atmospheric movie I’ve ever seen, it draws you in and makes you feel like you’re there in the presence of this evil. The sound design and visuals were insane
I've seen most dracula films, this in #1 or 2. My only issue as with most movies in recent years is too many music crescendos to build tension, like every other scene by the 3rd act. And during trailers anytime a character blinks you hear a sonic boom. I miss my youth where we would only hear "in a world.." I've been yearning to put this out in the world, thank you. Loved your review.
I saw this movie in threats, on the BIG screen & when it ended I left the threat completely pale white 💀 I was in awe, shock, horrified but satisfied. Satisfied that I finally, FINALLY get to see a real vampire/monster movie for the first time. A gothic film like no other. I loved the cinematography, the visuals, costumes, sets and actors. I gave it a solid 8 out of 10, the ending was sad and everyone was just left in distraught, especially Thomas. Still, the best horror film of this year, hands down!
@einarrjamesson9643 the thing that's missing in this film is the lack of action when the whole crew finally understands the situation at hand with the Count being the direct cause of the plague and misery that befells them. For instance, none of the male characters ever get a chance to fight back or attempt to confront the Count head on in a fight. Yes, I know it's not an action film, I respect that but at least give the characters a chance to fight even if the odds are stacked against them in the end.
@winterknight4307 I disagree with your take but respect your opinion. I think it has to do more with the woman being the main character more than anything. I don't see it as a masculine film of physical conflict. But that's just my take. It's a 9/10 for me I think they could have suggested more of the sex instead of showing it and I just can't get passed the mustache.
@@einarrjamesson9643 I think they could have toned it down with the sex. And I do understand your take on it, I feel the main character of the film was solely on Ellen. It was her journey to embrace her fate of death to save her husband, which anyone would do the unthinkable to save a love one. Still, I did enjoy the film and love it for all its gothic themes, and atmosphere.
I was thoroughly creeped out and disturbed which I think was the intention. Amazing movie , better than the Northman for me, but the lighthouse is still SS tier
This film will go down as one of the most beautifully shot movies in history. I've seen most of the prominent movies this year, and if Nosferatu doesn't at least get the Oscar nod for Best Film and Best Cinematography, then why have an awards ceremony at all? Also, the score was devastating, and the acting phenomenal. But what really got to me was Bill Skarsgard's subtlety and nuanced take on an ancient vampire of honourable blood (IYKYK). His breathing, and the way he rolled his R's. And those eyes...
No single reel of the original Nosferatu survived. What we have now has been spliced together from the best of multiple surviving reels. I'm thankful for that.
🙄 Comment literally makes no sense. Nothing but internet conspiracy theorizing. The entire film is intact, ffs. They didn’t destroy every copy. Not only that, there’s a sound version originally released in 1930 and screened for the public again back in 1981.
One of the few silent films I love and will recommend anyone to at least try. Pumped to see this version. Big fan of the original and the Herzog remake. Also saw Shadow of the Vampire at a young age which led to my Nosferatu obsession. Metropolis and The Cabinet of Dr Caligari are the other two silent films
The two things that stuck out to me as being bad parts of the movie would be Count Orlok having a weird combover style haircut. Like he wasn’t balding he just had a weird hairstyle that didn’t fit with the character and it was also white, not black like his mustache. Other than that I thought Aaron Taylor Johnson was pretty bad in a lot of his scenes. Like there were multiple times during the movie I laughed just because the way he delivered some lines sounded so bad because of the voice he chose. Other than that though I thought it was decent and would give it a 7/10 maybe 7.5/10. Not as good as The Witch. Also I hope Johnny Depp didn’t go see the premier of this with his daughter lol
His hairstyle is a somewhat creative adaption of an Eastern European hairstyle called oseledets, оселедець. It was traditionally worn by warriors or soldiers and paired with the mustache, just like we see it on Count Orlok.
I'm liking this video and leaving it on mute in another tab right after I finish typing and posting this comment. I haven't seen the film and don't want spoilers, but I'll still be your wingman, Ryan! Hope you enjoyed it!
@@RealLifeRyan VAMPIRES can be loveable, even if evil. Evil is evil and should be portrayed as such; however, this creature has turned into a romance or lust type story, so why? Psalms 92:1-7 “It is agreed to cast off YAHWEH, to call out the name ALLAH. Conspicuously he is devout at coming at the dusk, fidelity at night. All ten (fingers) go to the strings to play upon the lyre. Upon springing forth shall YAHWEH be glad at the deeds done? Screaming at the works of your hands! How great shall be the works of YAHWEH, the device's blade is forced in deep. Brutish man to know not, to know not, fool! Discern that with me is God. The wicked sprout up like a herb, all make sorrow as they flourish, only that they be destroyed for forevermore.” YAHWEH can judge ALLAH. Psalms 91:1-2 “He who dwells in secret with ALLAH abides the night in darkness. The Almighty utters, “YAHWEH is a refuge, a strong fortress, a God to trust.”” ALLAH is the Ba'alZebub who desired LUCIFER to make gods. 'She' goes into an Abyss. Psalms 91:7-10 “A thousand fall at your side, a multitude at the right-hand approach, surely you look with the eye to see the recompense of the wicked. He will set it in the proper place, YAHWEH is a refuge, ALLAH in the temple, no evil shall befall, no stroke shall enter the body.” LUCIFER excited that one-third of all angels die before her, by His hand, but never did the pollution touch Him. The implication is 'Nosferatu' is the god of Islam. Yet as the ignorant learned they realize that 'she' still desires Yahweh and so they slaughter many, but what they do not do now is focus on Israel until November 29, 1947, when modern, secular Israel was made. The Muslim desires to be a god. He comes from afar having her within, for she desires all of her own to be slain, so that just once she can reach out unto Him. Job 4:18 “For he put forth no trust, behold even in his own servants, the angels, for he chargeth them as all are in error.” Job 25:2-6a “Dominion dreadful belongs unto him, who establishes peace in His Height. For this existence is a number of bands who light his time to arise. How can a man be justified as god by a word? How clean is he who births the woman? Behold, for unto the last the moon (“lesser light ruling over darkness”) cleared away and not bright (New Moon) and the stars are not pure, and perceives moreover lesser of man than a maggot." Job 27:11-13 “I will throw out the hand of this god; who when with the Almighty, shall not be concealed. Behold, of all you have seen, how this act maketh empty. This is the portion of the wicked man, a Word of God, and the inheritance of the tyrant received of the Almighty.” Job28:20-24 “Whence wisdom? And knowledge, unto who does it come? And where is the place of understanding? And it is concealed from the eyes of all of the living. Concealed from the birds of the heavens (fallen angels). Abaddon (The Destroyer or Apollyon) bringing death, saith, “we have ears to hear the report.” Elohim (God) discerns their ways; He knows where they stand. Look to the end of the Earth. See all under the heavens. He will impart the weight of the winds; meted waters by measures. Making a limit to rain, and from a far distance for the voice of Thunder. At that time see and relate, He established, and moreover stretched it out. To man utter, “Behold in fear, your lord,” for the wisdom will depart, evil has understanding.” Job 34:12-13 “Surely a god wicked, and Mighty, will pervert justice. Who is appointed authority over the Earth? Who has laid out the whole of the world?” Expect the Anti-Christ to come from the Democratic party of America, for it was Woodrow Wilson who drew all the lines of all the nation with “Determinism” in 1919 after all the world was tread down and crushed in the Apocalypse of World War One. But, there is spiritual implication, as well. Job 34:14-18 “If 'he' were determined to gather unto 'himself' that Spirit, and breathe, all flesh will perish together, and man would return to the dust. And if you have understanding hear this: “Listen, unto the sound of My words: Shall the hater of Justice rule, by condemning the Righteous One?” Utter unto the king, “Worthless One (Beli’Yah’al - meaning “birthing Yah’s opposition”), your nobles are wicked.”” Job 34:19-20 “Who takes no partiality to princes? And no regard for the rich above the poor? They all must work with their hands. For in one moment death by division. The people will be shaken and pass away. Valiant and turned aside without hand.” Job 34:21-23 “The eye is upon the ways of the man, 'She' seeth all of the steps. There is nothing, and neither darkness, or shadow where the workers of iniquity may hide. Setting 'the man' afar, that he should go to the place of God’s judgment.” Job 34:29-30 “Keep quiet, who?, the condemner? And hide your face. Who can behold her? This angel? And regard the nation, and the man.” Isaiah 34:8 “Yahweh, it is the day of Vengeance, year of the recompense, for dispute taken out of (word for those words is “rib” - a woman in dispute with Yahweh can only be Lucifer, the most beautiful of the flock) Zion.” Isaiah 34:9-10 “Streams torrent, and overturning unto pitch, for loosed from the dust (remember the first bodies of Muslims are all ash after Isaiah 14:26-31) brimstone of the Earth (demons -> fallen angels again) shall fall out as burning pitch, never to be quenched, night and day smoke shall go up from generation unto generation. For the desolate are nought to pass enduring for all eternity.” Ecclesiastes 7:27-28 ""To see to discovery, this," saith the Preacher, "you add one unto another, until you find the explanation: Who am I to seek? They seek to attain one man, out of the thousands, to attain the woman of the whole of man."" Revelation 9:20 "The remaining of mankind, who is not killed by these plagues, repented not of the works of their hands, in order that they might worship the demon, his image of gold, silver, brass, and petrified wood (the life inside the glorified shell), for I demonstrate power that he neither see, nor hear, nor walk." Isaiah 46:5-6 “Who is my likeness and equal? And be like and represent and be as unto. Lavish the gold out of the bag of heavy weight, and silver to the balance (holding up the head). The hire of making refine and it’s made, a word of god, prostrate, yea worship.” Isaiah 40:18-21 “To whom will you liken a Word of god? Who is the likeness of compared unto? Him? The idol engraved and poured out. Smelt is beat out of Gold, the smelt are the chains on the silver. The impoverished are an offering, select of the tree (of a Life) never rotting to seek skillful craftsmen. Be firm of the image never tottering. Do ye really not know? Have ye never heard? This was declared from the beginning, no understanding is the foundation of the Earth.” Isaiah 66:24 “And they shall go forth, and see corpses of men who transgress, the worm, dieth. Their fire inextinguishable, abhorrence unto the whole of mankind.” Having finally been thrown out of humanity, for all of humanity is dead. They gain their second bodies only for all to be made limbless as Lucifer, for she was jealous upon being cut off from Yahweh of 'the woman.' Lucifer had kept 'nosferatu' in ignorance, "no understanding is the foundation of the Earth." Yahweh looks upon 'Her.' Psalms 68:31 “The Prince (male human) comes out of Egypt, run through she (Lucifer) stretches out her hands unto Elohim (Jesus).” Isaiah 17:7 “In that day, man shall gaze on his Maker (Barack Hussein Obama at Yahweh), and eye shall look upon ‘Sacred of Israel’ (Yahweh beholds His Lucifer).”
One correction - that was skaarsgards actual voice not distortion. Only 2 lines in the whole movie were distorted. Makes the performance even more impressive.
i´ve been away from this channel far too long. Loved the movie too. Miss the good old days of livechat on saturdays talking about our berserk theorys before Miura's passing. Cheers from Brazil, Ryan!
What I love about Count Orlok in this film is that he looks exactly how I imagined Dracula in Bram Stoker’s Dracula. It was so 👌 And having him in shadow and obscure was the icing on the cake! 10/10 design
Robert Eggers does not miss when it comes to these type of movies I was extremely creeped tf out 😂 it's like you can smell him rotten away it's disgusting and disturbing and I love it and lily rose depp performance was crazy 😂😂😂😂
Between the mustache and the coat he reminded me of a decade version of the villain from the sonic movies!.. not what I would imagine a vampire looking like!
I had a blast! The movie was absolutley beautiful in the theater. If you want to forget your troubles for 2 hours, i recommend it! You'll be swoon...I'm going again 🤘🔥🤘
I owe this movie a second viewing because I saw it in theatres next to someone who wasn't paying attention to it and kept talking throughout it. Even with that going off in my ear, this movie was still great and I LOOOOVE how Orlok and Ellen were played. To that end, I have a different view on why Orlok may have taken so many deep breaths throughout the film: part of Orlok's inhumanity is his lack of emotions and only chasing what he chases because of the physical pleasure he gets out of them; to that end, when he breathes, he breathes DEEPLY to get everything he can get out of that breath, no matter how much it unsettles other people (or, in an indirect way, deprives them of having air to breathe). Despite how vicious Orlok is and how tortured Ellen, Thomas and the Harding family are, I'm glad that we still got the original "happy" ending; just like Professor Bulwer's energy in the face of the macabre, the movie can still have hope even after facing the Grim Reaper himself. Considering the original Nosferatu invented the concept of vampires dying in sunlight, it would also feel weird to have any rendition of this story not end with (or at least, incorporate, in the case of the 79 remake) Orlok dying in sunlight.
I love Dracula (vampires in general) and the OG Nosferatu. The remake (while a good film) is a beat for beat reimagining of the original with nothing drastically different added in. I like that they mention scholomance, the sexual undertones, and the performances. Still, the film is a little slow in the first half and suddenly the second half picks up pace with the ending feeling too rushed. Also, why are 1830s Germans acting and speaking like Britishers? How are there so many people in the 1830s - Wisburg looks very crowded. The settings and landscapes look like CGI for the most part.
Eggers is the most important filmmaker today. I hope he’s able to make a Western like he wants, that would be an absolutely fascinating diversion from his style.
Simply the best gothic horror film of all time a perfect reimagining terrifying creepy grotesquely erotic & Dazzlingly magnanimous in the script plot protagonist antagonist characters art direction photography the story itself everything, by Robert Eggers genius when it comes to the subject of folk horror worldwide
Looking forward to see this in theatre (shame that I missed The Northman on the big screen when the covid spectre was still lingering), planning to go to the opening in my country on New Year's Eve. I have recently rewatched both Murnau's and Herzog's take on the story and reread Stoker's novel, so I'm definitely in the right mood.
I've watched the original silent film and have loved it so much, such a huge fan of it. I work backwards in the fact that I like being spoiled to see if I get curious enough to want to watch it. I trust your review as a fellow fan of horror movies, I am curious enough to check out this movie and see how well its made.

Great review. Going this weekend to see it. Love Bram Stokers Dracula and period films so hoping it doesn’t disappoint. I’ve heard mixed reviews, mostly positive though.
most normal take i've heard so far. i keep hearing that orlok was daddy and that he sexually liberated ellen and ppl were rooting for him 😭 weird shit. but i agree, i loved orlok having this unknowable demonic power, like the devil himself. despite being their weird zombie thing. probably my favorite movie vampire.
Just got out of the movie, this honestly feels like what would've happened if they had to rights to Dracula back then. I found a lot more parallels to the novel in this flick.
Kinda disappointed by the lack of acknowledgement of the Herzog/Kinski, half of the things that you were surprised by the Eggers version were already there
Listening yo most of the reviews tham mention the 79 verdion as "the 70s version" kinda breaks my heart that these reviewers don't know about Herzog, that's a beautiful movie with the great Klaus Kinski and the eternal Isabelle Adjani 😢😊
17:55 Pease tell me he’s packing and it’s not a wet noodle. This will make or break the movie, they need to get the dead dong correct or the movie will just be a floppy flop.

I've seen it. And I don't think he was dead forlong cause the maggots were big and looked fresh. Dafoe referred to him as A nosferatu not, THE nosferatu. So anyone can be one?
Got to see it twice on 35MM on Xmas and gonna see it the third time with my best friend along with flying to a primus new years concert after plus a 70MM screening of The Brutalist so it’s a hell of a way to celebrate the holidays. I also prepped up watching the 1922 version on a private screening with the famous artist Emek in attendance along with the synchronized music by Radiohead and saw the Herzog version in theaters. It is everything I wanted for as a remake with Eggers touch of historical accuracies. I really love the design of Orlok due to the fact they incorporate actual folklore detail down to the fur dress. Now we got three or four movie adaptations of Orlok/Dracula actually having a mustache just like in the books! Hurrah!
To be completely honest- I think the character development fell pretty flat for me. The cinematography was really beautiful- but I would have liked more depth. Bram Stokers Dracula is my favorite version of a vampire type film. Star studded cast- immersive and interesting.
Honestly I thought the standout was Willem Dafoe Bill Skarsgard to do good I also thought he overreacted a little it could have been more subtle but where is overacting was nowhere near as bad as it to the point where it crossed the line for me into unintentional comedy and I couldn't take him seriously
This was just me, but i wasnt that big a fan of this movie. I feel like there were story elements that were there that were not really explored more and the pacing was just not there for me
I've watched thousands of horror and horror films, and Robert Eggers' Nosferatu I can guarantee and swear, for the atmosphere of death, rotten eroticism, bloodthirstiness, Absolutely epic, scary, terrifying, truly perfect and worthy retelling or remake, which surpasses any previous films of the character and the best gothic horror film in history. Great Work like Masterpiece The Magnum Opus as Magnanimous rare jewelry worthy of countless Oscar statuettes. Period and I have said yes... This film is an opera of pure horror with a bloody erotic tone, meticulously orchestrated with dazzling perfection and very well orchestrated majestically impeccable in every detail photography art direction story characters soundtrack, absolutely everything, Count Orlok Nosferatu has a more terrifying, sinister, overwhelmingly impressive look than any other horror character in the history of cinema, especially vampires. Magnum Opus From Gothic Horror Cinema in History ... Positive reviews with foundation but negative reviews with no purpose whatsoever just to talk about conspiring against a cinematic masterpiece like this, should not even be allowed and should be censored, only equal opinions that positively agree that this film is a great masterpiece of gothic horror in decades of cinema. Only opinions that agree that this film is indeed the Magnum Opus of horror cinema, which are right, if you disagree you are wrong, simple as that, and if you criticize negatively you are criticizing a magical masterpiece. This is a totally execrable attitude that should be completely censored.
Uh… that came out 70 years after the original Nosferatu. And they’re all based on the SAME BOOK, ffs! Seriously, this world is filled with people who are loud and don’t know they’re talking about. 🙄
Very slow boring movie with people walking out and sleeping and snoring!! .Very disappointed as I was looking forward to it! The make up was bad too..looked like the last days of Freddy Mercury..The original was much better in every way and you can't beat the original Orlok makeup!! The Witch sucked too!
The thing that really sent shivers down my spine , was the fact that Robert Eggers wanted Harry Styles to play Nicholas Holt's role , that was the real horror about this movie.

Bill Skarsgård really nailed this role to perfection, just wish we got more screentime of him doing horrific things
Agree. That's the only part I thought was lacking.
2 people sitting in the row in front of us stood up and walked out during the pigeon scene 😵💫 🐦
What's missing for it to be a 10/10 for you?
@winterknight4307 I agree whole heartedly. Phenomenal film absolutely stellar
I was thoroughly creeped out and disturbed which I think was the intention. Amazing movie , better than the Northman for me, but the lighthouse is still SS tier
The VVITCH is his best
Really!!
Lighthouse is still my favorite of his for sure
Anything with Eggers' name on it is an instant watch for me, so I'm sold. Just need to cut some time out to see it 😂
Nosferatu ... ZODD??
I see it!
That's such a tragic but at least we have the highlights.
🙄 Comment literally makes no sense. Nothing but internet conspiracy theorizing.
The entire film is intact, ffs. They didn’t destroy every copy. Not only that, there’s a sound version originally released in 1930 and screened for the public again back in 1981.
I love the idea of taking in air to speak - that makes so much sense!
Can't wait to see it Saturday. I'll watch until spoilers come. Then come back after i see it.
I started laughing during the scene where he hangs dong. I don’t know why. It was such a well shot scene. But I wasn’t expecting them to show that.
Tbh it did take me aback, but in an admiring way, like "gosh he didn't mince here". Takes some balls XD
The use shadow in this film was so fantastic
You a real one 🫡
@@RealLifeRyan VAMPIRES can be loveable, even if evil. Evil is evil and should be portrayed as such; however, this creature has turned into a romance or lust type story, so why?
Psalms 92:1-7
“It is agreed to cast off YAHWEH, to call out the name ALLAH. The wicked sprout up like a herb, all make sorrow as they flourish, only that they be destroyed for forevermore.”
YAHWEH can judge ALLAH.
Psalms 91:1-2
“He who dwells in secret with ALLAH abides the night in darkness. The Almighty utters, “YAHWEH is a refuge, a strong fortress, a God to trust.””
ALLAH is the Ba'alZebub who desired LUCIFER to make gods. 'She' goes into an Abyss.
Psalms 91:7-10
“A thousand fall at your side, a multitude at the right-hand approach, surely you look with the eye to see the recompense of the wicked. He will set it in the proper place, YAHWEH is a refuge, ALLAH in the temple, no evil shall befall, no stroke shall enter the body.”
LUCIFER excited that one-third of all angels die before her, by His hand, but never did the pollution touch Him.
Job 4:18
“For he put forth no trust, behold even in his own servants, the angels, for he chargeth them as all are in error.”
Job 25:2-6a
“Dominion dreadful belongs unto him, who establishes peace in His Height. For this existence is a number of bands who light his time to arise. How can a man be justified as god by a word? How clean is he who births the woman? Behold, for unto the last the moon (“lesser light ruling over darkness”) cleared away and not bright (New Moon) and the stars are not pure, and perceives moreover lesser of man than a maggot."
Job 27:11-13
“I will throw out the hand of this god; who when with the Almighty, shall not be concealed. Behold, of all you have seen, how this act maketh empty. This is the portion of the wicked man, a Word of God, and the inheritance of the tyrant received of the Almighty.”
Job28:20-24
“Whence wisdom? To man utter, “Behold in fear, your lord,” for the wisdom will depart, evil has understanding.”
Job 34:12-13
“Surely a god wicked, and Mighty, will pervert justice. Who is appointed authority over the Earth? Who has laid out the whole of the world?”
Expect the Anti-Christ to come from the Democratic party of America, for it was Woodrow Wilson who drew all the lines of all the nation with “Determinism” in 1919 after all the world was tread down and crushed in the Apocalypse of World War One.
But, there is spiritual implication, as well.
Job 34:14-18
“If 'he' were determined to gather unto 'himself' that Spirit, and breathe, all flesh will perish together, and man would return to the dust. And if you have understanding hear this: “Listen, unto the sound of My words: Shall the hater of Justice rule, by condemning the Righteous One?” Utter unto the king, “Worthless One (Beli’Yah’al - meaning “birthing Yah’s opposition”), your nobles are wicked.””
Job 34:19-20
“Who takes no partiality to princes? And no regard for the rich above the poor? They all must work with their hands. For in one moment death by division. The people will be shaken and pass away. Valiant and turned aside without hand.”
Job 34:21-23
“The eye is upon the ways of the man, 'She' seeth all of the steps. There is nothing, and neither darkness, or shadow where the workers of iniquity may hide. Setting 'the man' afar, that he should go to the place of God’s judgment.”
Job 34:29-30
“Keep quiet, who?, the condemner? And hide your face. Who can behold her? This angel? And regard the nation, and the man.”
Isaiah 34:8
“Yahweh, it is the day of Vengeance, year of the recompense, for dispute taken out of (word for those words is “rib” - a woman in dispute with Yahweh can only be Lucifer, the most beautiful of the flock) Zion.”
Isaiah 34:9-10
“Streams torrent, and overturning unto pitch, for loosed from the dust (remember the first bodies of Muslims are all ash after Isaiah 14:26-31) brimstone of the Earth (demons -> fallen angels again) shall fall out as burning pitch, never to be quenched, night and day smoke shall go up from generation unto generation. For the desolate are nought to pass enduring for all eternity.”
Ecclesiastes 7:27-28
""To see to discovery, this," saith the Preacher, "you add one unto another, until you find the explanation: Who am I to seek? They seek to attain one man, out of the thousands, to attain the woman of the whole of man.""
Revelation 9:20
"The remaining of mankind, who is not killed by these plagues, repented not of the works of their hands, in order that they might worship the demon, his image of gold, silver, brass, and petrified wood (the life inside the glorified shell), for I demonstrate power that he neither see, nor hear, nor walk."
Isaiah 46:5-6
“Who is my likeness and equal? And be like and represent and be as unto. Lavish the gold out of the bag of heavy weight, and silver to the balance (holding up the head). The hire of making refine and it’s made, a word of god, prostrate, yea worship.”
Isaiah 40:18-21
“To whom will you liken a Word of god? Who is the likeness of compared unto? Him? The idol engraved and poured out. Smelt is beat out of Gold, the smelt are the chains on the silver. The impoverished are an offering, select of the tree (of a Life) never rotting to seek skillful craftsmen. Be firm of the image never tottering. Do ye really not know? Have ye never heard? This was declared from the beginning, no understanding is the foundation of the Earth.”
Isaiah 66:24
“And they shall go forth, and see corpses of men who transgress, the worm, dieth. Their fire inextinguishable, abhorrence unto the whole of mankind.”
Having finally been thrown out of humanity, for all of humanity is dead. They gain their second bodies only for all to be made limbless as Lucifer, for she was jealous upon being cut off from Yahweh of 'the woman.'
Lucifer had kept 'nosferatu' in ignorance, "no understanding is the foundation of the Earth."
Yahweh looks upon 'Her.'
Psalms 68:31
“The Prince (male human) comes out of Egypt, run through she (Lucifer) stretches out her hands unto Elohim (Jesus).”
Isaiah 17:7
“In that day, man shall gaze on his Maker (Barack Hussein Obama at Yahweh), and eye shall look upon ‘Sacred of Israel’ (Yahweh beholds His Lucifer).”
You did a great job reviewing the movie man. Wishing you the best
It was so 👌
And having him in shadow and obscure was the icing on the cake! 10/10 design
Mmm, yes and no. Yes, he has the bushy mustache and the sharp nails, but Dracula is not described as looking like a corpse in the novel.
This was real good. I was glue to my damn seat id def rewatch
I had to look up the actor’s name but Simon McBurney performance overshadowed everyone else’s in the movie. He was one of the highlights of the movie.
His performance tied the movie together. It sold the enamouring occult madness of Orlok's affliction just as vitally as the rat plague on the city.
Dracula is a purrfect name for a cat
Robert Eggers does not miss when it comes to these type of movies I was extremely creeped tf out 😂 it's like you can smell him rotten away it's disgusting and disturbing and I love it and lily rose depp performance was crazy 😂😂😂😂
Man, it will be tough to wait until the film comes out in January in Germany
fun fact the film is set in Germany cool enough... you live there for real i wounder what you will think on how it looks
I'm sold
The mustache is a win for me.
Can't weit to see it.
The mustache and the coat were absolutely boss to me as well!
It fucked it all up😊
Between the mustache and the coat he reminded me of a decade version of the villain from the sonic movies!.. not what I would imagine a vampire looking like!
@jeffreym8503 he's actually closer to how Bram Stroker described him in his novel.
@EzeICE it doesn't matter if he looked exactly like him!..he still looks like a rotting version of the villain from sonic the hedgehog 🤷🏾♂️
Mustache really threw me off but looking back it was fine. Overall excellent movie, best ive seen in years.
0:13 that's what she said
Hey, yo! 💀
I had a blast! The movie was absolutley beautiful in the theater. If you want to forget your troubles for 2 hours, i recommend it! You'll be swoon...I'm going again 🤘🔥🤘
Lol this is not some escapist fantasy unless your some weirdo goth chick
You should do Love Death + Robots there's some pretty terrific horror in there.
I watched the first two Nosferatu movies with my three year old this year, it’s going to be a long while before we watch this one together 😂
The second remake was released in 1979 with Klaus Kinski.
Eggers is the most important filmmaker today. I hope he’s able to make a Western like he wants, that would be an absolutely fascinating diversion from his style.
Simply the best gothic horror film of all time a perfect reimagining terrifying creepy grotesquely erotic &
Dazzlingly magnanimous in the script plot protagonist antagonist characters art direction photography the story itself everything, by Robert Eggers genius when it comes to the subject of folk horror worldwide
Looking forward to your top movies of the year video, since I haven’t seen a movie in 3 years all my movie news comes from your channel.
I've watched the original silent film and have loved it so much, such a huge fan of it. I work backwards in the fact that I like being spoiled to see if I get curious enough to want to watch it. I trust your review as a fellow fan of horror movies, I am curious enough to check out this movie and see how well its made.
The Witch film was fantastic and really creepy. I’m definitely watching this.
Blood and guts and guts and blood
contemporary movies rating: S
eggers movies rating: A
nosferatu movies rating: below 1979 version (the best IMO) and still need to see Shadow of the Vampire
will watch it again! this time in a real imax theater!
I loved the deep breaths too. It made all the difference.
Eggers is one of the few directors who would make a good adaptation of lovecraft.
Can't wait to see it! Anything Robert Eggars does, I'll definitely give a chance, even if it's not my cup of vodka
Fantastic movie
I've been looking forward to Ryan's review of this movie,as much as Ryan has been looking forward to the movie. 🍿 🍿 🍿
Great Review, Thanks Ryan. Will check it out if I have the chance.
Saw the film this week and it was sooooo good! 🎃
Spoiler alert:
Seemed to me that Orlock wanted to die and needed to find the right person to do so.
I could see the for the 70’s but I didn’t see it in this one
Interesting
Put it on my radar, I’m interested now fr
it wasn't already on your radar?
@ no, I typically work 70hrs a week but have holiday time.
@@josephc8440 ahhh gotcha
Just got out of the movie, this honestly feels like what would've happened if they had to rights to Dracula back then. I found a lot more parallels to the novel in this flick.
Kinda disappointed by the lack of acknowledgement of the Herzog/Kinski, half of the things that you were surprised by the Eggers version were already there
I dont want to get this one spoiled, so I will just watch the non spoiler part. Im sure, this movie will be great, releasing on 02.01.25 in germany.
Listening yo most of the reviews tham mention the 79 verdion as "the 70s version" kinda breaks my heart that these reviewers don't know about Herzog, that's a beautiful movie with the great Klaus Kinski and the eternal Isabelle Adjani 😢😊
Great Review, loved the movie! :)
Spectacular
HIT, this movie was a damn hit
16:50 everyone has to breathe to speak lol but I get what you're trying to say
This is probably the only time that a movie has not just one, but two amazing remakes
17:55 Pease tell me he’s packing and it’s not a wet noodle. This will make or break the movie, they need to get the dead dong correct or the movie will just be a floppy flop.
Weird af requirement
Did se it tonight
I can only say one thing wow it did live upp to every thing i was expecting
The cinemstography is the best ive sen
Being a photographer and cinimatographer myself i can only say wow
Cinimatography and acting in a lever of its one
This is one of the best movies I ever seen
#1 Dune 2
#2 LongLegs (God this movie just worked for me and I live in Oregon)
#3 Five Nights at Freddy's
Some reviewer on UA-cam said the movie was “an oil painting” lmfao. The Glaze from the early reviewers was crazy.
Robert Eggers simply doesn't miss
Incredibly creepy
Merry fucking Christmas
lol ngl I ended up going to church the following Sunday after seeing this
I've seen it. And I don't think he was dead forlong cause the maggots were big and looked fresh. Dafoe referred to him as A nosferatu not, THE nosferatu. So anyone can be one?
Such a good movie!!
I thought it was tonally inappropriate that they had Blade in the post credit scene but it was a really good movie besides that
Got to see it twice on 35MM on Xmas and gonna see it the third time with my best friend along with flying to a primus new years concert after plus a 70MM screening of The Brutalist so it’s a hell of a way to celebrate the holidays.
Hurrah!
He has intimidation factor and aura almost as much as the real one i admit. Nosferatu Zodd
To be completely honest- I think the character development fell pretty flat for me. The cinematography was really beautiful- but I would have liked more depth. Bram Stokers Dracula is my favorite version of a vampire type film. Star studded cast- immersive and interesting.
I’m surprised you didn’t name your cat with something adjacent to Godzilla like……..Mecha Catzilla or something
Honestly I thought the standout was Willem Dafoe
Bill Skarsgard to do good I also thought he overreacted a little it could have been more subtle but where is overacting was nowhere near as bad as it to the point where it crossed the line for me into unintentional comedy and I couldn't take him seriously
Petition to remake twilight with Ryan as Edward Collins
This was just me, but i wasnt that big a fan of this movie. I feel like there were story elements that were there that were not really explored more and the pacing was just not there for me
Good movie.
Just came back from watching it. Somewhat entertaining, especially towards the ending, but most things in the middle were boring and repetetive. 6/10
This ain't even better than Lost Boys
As the only mf on the Internet that didn't like the movie; It really needed Guts 😂 would've been infintely better with a lil dragon slayer action.
“Then who was flickering the lights” - 🧽
Nicholas Cage
woulda been a better movie if it was nosferatu MUTHAFUKKIN ZODD!!!!!!!!!!!
Just another remake. Practically scene for scene reboot of Bram Stokers. Crap.
Uh… that came out 70 years after the original Nosferatu. And they’re all based on the SAME BOOK, ffs!
Seriously, this world is filled with people who are loud and don’t know they’re talking about. 🙄
“there weren’t a lot of jump scares” did we watch the same movie ?
Am i the only one that just didn’t enjoy this movie?
Of course not. But so what? Do you.
Very slow boring movie with people walking out and sleeping and snoring!! .Very disappointed as I was looking forward to it! The make up was bad too..looked like the last days of Freddy Mercury..The original was much better in every way and you can't beat the original Orlok makeup!! The Witch sucked too!
Eggers isn’t for you, bruh.
Doesn’t make you special.
