These times are worrisome. Our country has sure taken a downward spiral and it is not good. All a person can do is be prepared as best they can, be right with God and be ready to go. We sure don't know what will happen from day to day anymore.

I bought a box of 556 for$7.99 3 weeks ago in central Florida. Today it is selling at $16.99. insane !

Shopping around either in stores or online is important right now to get stocked. I just went from being a hard core food prepper, to an ammo prepper. I ask myself and don't have an answer to the question, "how much is enough?" Hopefully you'll have an easier time answering that, than I am having. Good luck!
Hi Flower, everyone situation is different. I personally like 1k rounds per usable firearm or per shooter. Now with the way things are looking, I'm looking at quadruple that number for our situation. Rifle? Handgun? Shotgun? So many variables with each individual situation. My thoughts are, think of the worst case scenario where you need to protect yourself for a period of time and double that. Some folks may be couple hundred and others, several thousand.

This is true and it's been steadily declining since 2020. Many companies went international for components in 2021 & 2022. We lost MILLIONS to shady over seas companies. We barely survived and are just ramping back up. Stay strong yall!

I go to bass pro a couple times a week. Last week, shelves were pretty full - hundreds of boxes on the shelf. This week 9mm was completely gone except a hand full of boxes of hp. The cheapest available 223 now at $15 a box of 20.

It’s going to be a long time before we switch completely to 6.8x51 if ever. It’s only going to front line units. The M-4 is going to fill a role similar to the M1 Carbine did during WW2 through the early days of Viet Nam.

I was at the Cabela's in Louisville Ky earlier today to get some primers. Last night they still had Lg & Sm rifle and pistol primers. When I got there around noon all the Lg rifle primers where gone. Still had Some Sm rifle and Lg and Sm pistol. I ask the gun counter clerk when the would be getting more in, he just smiled and said your guess is as good as mine. Both Academy sports locations in Louisville were already sold out of primers as well as the Cabela's in Lexington KY. Glad I stockpiled over the last few years.

I saw this coming so many years ago. I remember going to a local sporting goods store and they had 500 rounds of top brand 22LR for 9.99. I was hating to pay that but bought two. It was just a week or so before Sandy Hook. That was the first run on ammo. And it all began then. I have variety of ammo bought back when price stickers put on boxes. When I look at these boxes and how since it all began the price. And if it can be found. 5.56 top brand was $6.99 and 8.99 a box I worry what will happen. To Vista Outdoors. Will the new owner Move it out of the country? I feel bad for new gun owners that are just now waking up and realize they need protection. The cost to purchase the firearm then buy enough ammo for it , if can be found will break the bank. Back door for gun control? Discourage gun sales if no ammo available? Or just the overall cost to get started. I have been ringing the bell trying to inform friends for years falling on deaf ears.

The day that Israel got attacked, I bought a case of 77gr SMK's from AAC/PSA, and half a case of 9mm JHP's. It just arrived a few days ago. Luckily I already had a case and a half of 5.56 on hand, but locally I see most of the "deal" ammo already sold out. With the shady sale of Vista holdings, I suspect 5.56 and 9mm will be short for a long time.

That sounds like great news, what area and did you check on any prices? I've heard that the ammunition companies are starting to trickle some out. We have zero 556 in our area less than a buck per round for range ammo

I’m in Mansfield TX they had 223 200 round for $139 and 50 round for $29.99 and 20 rounds for $11.99 5.56 200 rounds for $119 and 20 rounds for $12.99 they had so much of it it was a good site to see I was in there last week and no 223 or 5.56 on the shelf
I was getting 125rounds Winchester valor for 55$ in August. Yesterday it was 100$ a box. Yes 100$.

I've been actually checking online, and when you add to the cart, it says sold out. That was going right down the lise from ammoseek. There's probably still some out there as I've been hearing stories of warehouses trickling it out to drive pricing up.

One of the ironies of the [unnecessary, manufactured, politically-manipulated] shortage when it comes to RESPONSIBLE ownership and handling of one's firearms is that we should, we're supposed to, practice, p r a c t i c e , PRACTICE, P R A C T I C E , P R A C T I C E .
"Know your firearm; know your surroundings; shoot straight --= shoot safe." Well, with empty shelves THAT prevents the possibility, the potential of training, practicing, familiarity. There's only so many hours we can spend 'shooting' snap caps and watching UA-cam videos

I'm guessing for the same reason. I've never gotten to much into the ak round mainly because I have ample supply of 223 556 brass for free. Makes reloading much less expensive
The list that Biden says ammo and firearms can be exported to is like 40 countries long. Nato countries, etc.

You must repent, no doubt about it. For we all fall short of the Lord's commandments daily. The nataions will pay for there sins. They don't want to read or listen to God's word because it condems their heart, exactly what it's supposed to do.
