They also have some practice tools and auto splitter. and they started playing all missions, which is a much more fulfilling category
Yeah I was gunna say, almost all of the tech shown here got patched out by 343 to a crazy extent. If you try and speedrun this today without the mods you're not going to be able to do basically any of this. The live game is basically completely neutered.
Desperately wish that developers are learning Live-Only games are not an effective way to increase player retention. Edit: clearly a misunderstanding is taking place in the comments. I did not say "Live-Service" I said "Live-Only." A game doesn't have to be Live-Only to be Live-Service, Live-Service just means it's actively getting updates and extending it's lifespan. A good example of this is No Man's Sky; you do not need an Internet connection to play No Man's Sky, however you'll lose the benefits of the "Live-Service" the game is providing via updates and in-game events. "Live-Only" is a game that, whether it's needed or not, can only be played with connection to the Internet. Halo Infinite, for no good reason, is at least a soft "Live-Only" game because your game will crash and bug out if you don't have an internet connection. An example of a "Live-Only" and "Live-Service" game, last I checked, was Destiny, which could be played offline with minimal changes to gameplay, but Bungie has decided to keep it "Live-Only" and retain the right to take away content from players at any time they choose with no alternatives. "Live-Only" games contribute to the "rental" aspect of video games, where if the servers are shut down the game is no longer playable even if there is gameplay beyond online play. This is a bad thing - in my eyes - with no "ifs," "ands," or "buts" about it. All of this to say my original comment was aimed at the video, and how it sucks that Speedrunners who want to enjoy the game as it was in a different patch are sometimes unable to because of arbitrary reasons, even though their payment of the game should include every version of that game.
I don't think that's the issue. Games are becoming exceedingly expensive to make. Tekken's creator said it cost just $350k just to make one stage. It's easy to assume that they're just greedy, however that's very unreasonable, as you have to look at all factors. Usually what would solve rising cost of production is automation, in this case it would be AI. However I'm sure you're aware on how well that's going so game developers are essentially damned if they do and damned if they don't. Unfortunately, not every game is a Nintendo game, or Elden Ring, or Helldivers. It's becoming increasingly apparent that the only way they can make a profit is through live service like elements. Sure they can stop paying their executives so much, but that's not how free market societies function. Of course we can just stop buying their games, but then people will lose their jobs, which would have happened anyways if game developers had started using AI. I think a good solution would be to stop making games so long and large. If they reduced the price of shorter games to $50, and increased the price of longer games to maybe $80, I think that would be a fair compromise.
The stage part clearly isn't real. Just look at tekken 8 stages, half are an empty arena with some background stuff and maybe a screen transition. If that value was real games like Elden ring or even smaller scale titles like Resident Evil or monster hunter would costs 100 trillion dollars. Tekken is one of the cheapest AAA fighters in the market(cost goes go up since kit allows for more content for the same price), reused animations from 7, characters share base models with tweeks, they are legit greedy, there is a reason why it got way more characters than sf6 and options for custom costumes.
@@GS_CCC Uh yeah no lol. A team of 8 people working on stage for 3-4 months who are all getting 60k+ a year, along with health care benefits and retirement reimbursement definitely can equate to 350k. Not to mention marketing, which you have to pay the marketing team, and also pay for advertising. There is no evidence Tekken is the cheapest fighting game out there, idk where you even got that from.
@@ilikestamps2978 read the comment. Its not the lower budget one, just that they can get more per dollar spent than a game like SF6. You get that by looking at how tekken is and comparing to the other ones, I'm not saying they are wrong, if anything its smarter to do things that way since it allows them to have way more content on launch at similar quality.
I think the industry is either having digital only growing or transitioning pains, or (in my opinion, more likely) death throws and halo infinite and ps5 pro "upgrades" and losing the ability to purchase and own literally anything is destroying whole industries, consoles specifically, and the corporate holes are still pushing hard against making games physical anymore, removing all control and purchasing power from the whole world. That unflagged easter egg gun is such a common issue in games. A lot of devs copy and paste then edit things instead of just making it from scratch because they need to save time where they can. When i worked on WoW we constantly had bugs with certain flags being tied to or not applied to things that should/shouldnt have them. Even such simple stuff as "can swim" flags can cause so many issues
Halo is no stranger to it either, Reach has one in Long Night of Solace (though I dont know why its there, theres no easter egg or anything tied to it)

Didn't they patch out the coil launch? I didn't watch the whole video yet, but Waifu said mods fixed this trash, but didn'tmention what they fixed. Did mods add back the coil launch?
The big difference there is that in half life 2 there are key pieces of speedrun tech that are both cool and interesting in both versions. That’s not the case in halo infinite, the new versions are just the same run but slower and less fun, there isn’t any unique tech or alternative strategies you are just forced to play the game normally instead. Which can be fun but can also just be done on old patch. And because it’s an always online game they are liable to patch the game again at any point removing any of the new stuff that is found. For example hard coils I talk about in this video was added in after the 6 month mark but then was removed later.
Do you even like this game? Everything "nice" you say about it always a backhanded complement and it's so obnoxious. If you were trying to sell me on why this speedrun's revival should be looked at positively you definitely failed.
The flight at about 57 min in is so confusing because you say they consider dropping the MAC cannon to take out flying elites easier, which would be totally understandable to consider doing that, except for the fact that he's playing the game on..... Easy mode.... I could get it for legendary because they'd have enough health to survive a splash damage shot in their vicinity, even heroic is understandable, but he's playing on easy, and complaining about enemy health and is supposed to be one of the best Halo players in the world but he's having trouble killing enemies with the most powerful weapon in a Halo game since Halo 2, and is actually considering dropping it for real so be can what, plasma pistol their shields then BR head shot them after instead of just getting good enough to aim at enemies? I am SO confused by this guy and the things you say he's doing on easy mode as if the entire game wasn't possible to play blindfolded on easy... Did he swap difficulties at some point and I just missed it? How is that weapon not the perfect weapon in the entire game for the entirety of every fight?
Because it has a very long recharge rate and the enemies in the arena are spread apart, it takes almost 3 seconds to shoot the tank gun. In that time if you had a commando you could headshot instant kill 4 or 5 skimmers. With a headshot weapon you can take out the fodder much faster than you could with the tank gun, tank gun is good for the elites and ghosts though.

Speed runners haven't saved infinite nothing has so don't lie
Idk speedrun seems pretty active to me
why does this have so few views??
How is a game dead when i find games in under a minute?
Rest is a awesome video tho.
bots.
its not a dead game im onyx
God bless and forgive you
Why Dont just pirate the version 1.0?
It’s slower than a later patch that has no crack
@@WaifuRuns ooh, I see
I won Halo
just make new strategies for the current patch then. every game goes through this. case in point: Half Life 2 Old engine vs new engine
Games fun as hell, speedrun even more so. I wouldn’t make the video otherwise
Of the devs wanna be thatbout of touch why bother. They clearly dont want us to play the game
It’s still fun
true its dead
