You've started a new life, moving far north They're singing one that we used to hear A million times on our morning bed" So you're most likely right about it being a song of breakups and broken promises. My personal take: the singer is so hurt and puzzled by the breakup that every heartbeat reminds her of the heartbreak. But that's just me.
