I can't help but feel sorry for Jade. She has been done so dirty. None of this was her fault (well ok, she could've said no to the offer, but honestly... Sugababes back then were still a quite big thing, and even if she would've said no, someone else still would've said yes). And still all the scrutiny from media and Fans, beeing (understandibly) upset about a thing that was beyond Jade's control. And then she got her named dragged through the mud and her career basically destroyed.

I also think the situation wasn't comperable. 4.0 rightfully got backlash for what happened (apart from the fact that Jade did not deserve all the hate, as it was something beyond her control). Sure, it wasn't anything unusual that they replaced band members. But the way this went down was just not cool at all and yes, they were rightfully "cancelled" for that. That their new music was so generic that it didn't really made a difference who sang on it was a huge factor too. They were just another random girl group singing some tunes that were popular back in the day that had been given to them by the label. Also there were a lot of people still supporting 4.0 (as evident by the sales of the album), so you can't really say they were "cancelled". The uproar never really cooled down and by the time they finally made their own music, the label had practically given up on them anyway. Sugababes wouldn't have lasted that long anymore anyway, even if Keisha had stayed (their success was already fading (and S7 wouldn't have changed that), Heidi was pretty much done with the music industry alltogether and Amelle wanted to go solo).

I've wondered if before if after Keisha left if the Sugababes stopped as we know it, and Heidi, Amelle and Jade formed a new band without the Sugababes name if they'd have had a nicer ride. They may not have been as memorable and still may have seemed like a generic girl band, but I think how Keisha was ousted and there being no original members left was handled poorly by the management.

Mutya left due to pressures from their manager and having post natal depression, her choice, but very much after a lot of underhand tactics by people who should of been looking after her wellbeing instead of telling her to leave. The same manager who did it to both of them, the same manager that spent over 8 years blocking the original girls from using their own name, the same manager that since lost the trademark to Keisha who now owns it, oh and the same manager who swiftly dropped 4.0 from his company only retaining Heidi. Heidi spent all those years in the group, to later find herself as hired help on the same contract as a new girl and someone else who had been there a few years and contributed very little. Evil greedy management.
The slagging off of Keisha who had been in the publics gage for a decade and loved was a big bad silly move , Heidi wasn’t likeable enough to carry a WHOLE new line up neither was Amelle . The spark and life blood was missing without Keisha

Interesting theory, but I think management really had high hopes for Amelle after her solo #1 so didn't want to let her go, plus she had the backing from Heidi, so it was a wrap for Keisha. It would have cost them more to hire 2 more members to be with Keisha, too.
Management is squarely to blame. How the people behind the scenes were all to blame for pitting them against one another. Basically he said, she said rumor mills. Unprofessional, immature, self-entitled, over exaggerated, over hyped egos & people on power trips contributed to that melodrama. They could have been the greatest to rival the Spice Girls. But no. Drama & stupid sh*t destroyed all of that. The girls were merely puppets in this dumpster fire. But we have to move forward. It's in the past. Let it go. I am thrilled with the reunion of the origi-babes.
A line up of replacements, this wasn’t the Sugababes. Keisha was the only thing holding the group together sonically. Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan are all artists in their own right and blend together perfectly. There’s a reason this line up didn’t work, no chemistry and not a harmony between the three of them 😂
I think also by 2010, new decade the media wanted something new, only Little Mix were permitted.....with everyone being surprised by Girls Aloud's 2012 one-off comeback success. Sugababes were pushing 27...that's like a man turning 40

We don't know what went down back then (just allegations from either sides), and surely Keisha wasn't completely innocent. But Heidi & Amelle still dug their own graves (especially through the way Keisha's exit was handeled).

But like I said, we don't know the truth there, it's all allegations. I mean, they have been working together practically 24/7, and the previous album wasn't a huge hit. That surely has contributed to the heated atmosphere within the band. And yes, it maybe might have been hard sometimes to work with Keisha (as she seems like a perfectionist and she is always very dominantly heard on the records, as she did most of the ad libs, etc...) Personally, in my opinion it was a crashing of egos there. Amelle just recently had a solo #1 hit and maybe thought she rightfully deserves more spotlight than Keisha etc pp. Heidi always just seemed more of a "follower" and it's also saidshe was pretty much done with the music industry anway and thought about quitting herself after the album. The originals are acclaimed more than ever. Plus, even _Overload_ and _One Touch_ had more success than Jade/Heidi/Amelle's album. The debut album got certifications whereas _Sweet 7_ and its singles were flops. Jade was not a Sugababe, she was just a temporary replacement for Keisha.
