I can live with the bad stretch but it was losing the series to the Atrocious Angels of Anaheim that just felt terrible. ESPECIALLY that game where the Angels walked off a two run homer off Voth in the 10th. Not gonna lie that stung. Despite that I think Voth is actually a great arm to have. I just think it should have been Voth after Snider rather than Santos. Sure Voth may still give up a two run homer but at least it would not be a walk off. There would still be the chance to manufacture some runs. I think Santos should have been kept in reserve.
Not much is available for the Mariners to make moves , but lets not forget that they were very tight last off season and claimed they were broke and if that is true then I doubt that has changed much that is if you really believe they are broke. I don't think they are and I am still thinking that the top brass doesn't want to spend money and really doesn't want to get into the playoffs or at the most lose in the first round. The 54% comment still resonates with me , I am not sold they really want to win it all. If they are not careful they will lose Cal Raleigh as he may want out when his contract expires , his agent is Scott Boras and he tends to not agree to extensions unless his player really wants to but I could be wrong. Cal will no doubt test free agency as he is one of the top catchers in baseball.
Whenever they say they are broke I wouldn't buy into any of that because if that was the case then nobody would be showing up to the games Cal has already criticized ownership so I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves and I won't blame him for it
You are both obviously true fans. You wouldn't be here otherwise. I am for positivity and believing in the team but I think if you really believe in this team you got to look at things objectively and see that you NEED to be aggressive at the trade market before the deadline. You can't afford to do nothing. Dipoto knows this. So I think Dipoto is bullshitting. I think Dipoto just isn't a media guy who will just say we are gonna win the division no matter what it takes. However I think Dipoto is far more aggressive than he leads on. Dipoto seems like the guy who would say there are no dynamic trades but in reality he is on the phone with five different teams. The issue as always is will Stanton put his money where his mouth is or is he gonna just throw Jerry under the bus? I believe Jerry and hell even Scott both want to be the guy who made history and got the Mariners to the World Series. I just hope somewhere deep down in his cold metallic heart past all his money grubbing ways that within Stanton there is Little Stanton saying "Let's win the World Series! LETS SPEND $$$" LISTEN TO YOUR HEART JOHN STANTON!!!! GET THAT WORLD $ERIE$
