As the resident disc jockey for the Naija community here in Washington State. I hav an Igbo friend by name Emma Ekeh who will have no peace unless I play Ariwe for him. And he can get down doing the great hip swinging and wriggling much better than me an Izon man for t that matter. What a dance floor smash! Great music by the legend. Papa RIP. We are still dancing come morning, noon and 2nite.
Am tsekiri, I grew up in warri in those days that tribe did not matter and we all enjoyed and dance to this ijaw music. In fact no party was complete without this music. Where did we go wrong ?
It pains me most for us to hate ourselves just like this I don’t know how this got into us I was born in Robert road I don’t know we is going to save us from this only God 🙏🏿
I love this man's music so much I even had to sample one of his songs for a track in my album. U can check it out via this link: ua-cam.com/video/cnQzfJteU1E/v-deo.html
Nice memories Echo songs brings, but i most say something here, someone decided to remake Echo videos in the early 2000's , the result is what you see here and all over youtube but there are actual original videos of some of his top songs including this one ... As i remember correctly ariwei video was done by the sea/beach side and whenever it comes up on tv(dbs) back then everyone was properly entertained regardless of you tribe, the dancing was superb..... I hope someone somewhere has the original videos, it would be glorious to see them again, to see Echo at his prime.
Your observations are accurate. This isn't the original video, but from the look of things, there is a probability that the original videos were lost hence the need for a remake years later. Maybe Delta television might just have copies of the original in their library
Echo gave me an impact of African Music, with a brown sugar on my Laps top, and of course topic for that Night. Sweet dreams Tonight. Feel free for any negative inputs, impact, whatsoever. Just tell me something. Human Feel free.
What is the difference between the dress code of ijaw and Igbo? The answer is No Difference, the only difference is d tongue the dialect. We are d sane people we are Biafrans
Obinna shut ya mouth. There's much difference in the culture, dance, in shot every damn thing when it comes to the Izons and the Igbos. To end it: we Izons are Not biafrans, will never be, can never be. So watch ya mouth or ya gonna be smacked!!!
Just because similar clothing does not mean we are the same people. Furthermore some of the similarities are due to certain hinterland groups acculturating clothing into their dress.
Chief Echo. Ijaw Legend 🕊 🤍
