Ludicrously good singer and songwriter and to have that ability to make a live performance sound on the same level as the studio recording is incredible
Alberto spot on mate, timeless album by a brilliant mind (and voice)of Mavers. Shame his own focus on perfection prevented us from enjoying even more great songs by such a brilliant band.
Their 2 gigs at Manchester Academy were pure bottled euphoria. Can't believe it's been almost 30 years. Those were among the best nights of my life. Thanks Las.
Saw them in 1991. I went to 5 shows a week for most of the last 20 years and they remain one of the tightest, most authentic shows I ever saw. Hats off to all of them where ever they are. The sound quality of this recording is not flattering, they sounded amazing live.
The most fascinating and frustrating band in the history of music. To think that Mavers is still out there, living, sane of mind, but doing what? Watching football?
I just figure he's had his fill of being in the spotlight. He clearly dislikes having to conform to the music business. He's too singular and uncompromising. I'm sure he's happy with the mark he left
Been checking these live performances & have to say that Mavers has a point about the Steve Lillywhite recordings. They do sound lifeless. Mavers has to take some responsibility for agreeing to have him produce though. It's difficult when you're green in the business to make informed decisions. I hope Mavers cracks this nut before he croaks. It would be great.
they had been through at least 2 producers before Lillywhite got involved ..He was hired to rescue what was left of the recordings and had no input from the band
Imagine being in a band that sounds that good live.
one of the must underrated bands of the 90’s
drop 'of the 90's' and you're quite right.
The las always have been underrated (they create the britpop)

a genius.
¿Word Salad? That, he most definitely is.

He was born to live like a mercenary, well personally I think that's fine if you're in the right mind. Love that tune
Pure class the la’s are the bollocks

Mooncult was this before America or after ,it just i see Jon looking to cammys way where in usa he wouldn't as he probably had cast plans by then

Just realised that good riff from the electric guitar is constantly played when Lee is making his acoustic sound louder on dole drum
This is a perfect performance. Period. Not a wasted note or beat. Put it in the time capsule. Send it off to the aliens.
Lee was so and still is in a way talented not just as a singer and writer but a guitarist lead and rhythm
The La’s were in unreal so sad they will never get back together
being 22 in 1991 I saw all of the bands, but I never saw these....damn

Such a tight performance . Lee Mavers was just immense at this point , solid as a rock . But my god what a frustrating talent.
