This video really made my day! Love that not everyone is an expert (mcCarfrae) (or however you spell it) but that the end product still looks terrific. I now lament the batch of royal icing I ditched last week as surplus; I could've put it to good use. Thank you and happy decorating 🎂
Thank you so much! I have gotten much better with practice. I LOVE David MacCarfrae! He is my favorite cake artist of all time!! You are welcome, and happy decorating right back at you.
I love watching you create. It is so mesmerizing. You creat beautiful pieces of AWESOME exquisite art. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and techniques. 🌿🌹🌿
You are so good at drop string work!! I've never cared much for the Lambeth style but I really loved watching you work and lining up all your line work. Such a steady hand you have. You don't need anymore practice. You got this!!!! Have you seen Ceridz youtube channel? He does a lot this style of line work. I know you would love it. He always downgrades his tip size when he does his line work. For example he will start with a #3 tip then do #2 then #1 on top of #3. It looks amazing just like yours. I would have you make my wedding cake in a heart beat. I just need to find a groom first. lol
+R MARTIN I love Ceridz! Yes, I follow his UA-cam Channel and i also purchased his "Contemporary English Overpiping" Class on craftsy. I admire his work and watch as much as I can from him! I like to size down tips as well, it gives the cake more dimension. I bet with practice, you could do your own wedding cake and your groom would Drool :)
Felicitaciones por su arte, admiro la creatividad y la técnica, creo observar que es con merengue, y si es así cual de los.merengue es el ideal para aplicar la técnica de Lambert?
Did you decorate all the time you cake with royal icing can you please tell us how to make it because all the cakes are so beautiful thank God for you talent and thanks for teaching us
Thanks for Asking Mrs. Young. I have found that over piping is more challenging, but bridge work more time consuming. Both are just amazing!! I love both!
This is one of the first Lambeth piped cakes I ever did a video for, and I don't remember all the tips I used. Sorry! Thanks for asking though. My newer videos show the tips.
Lovely, however, its nice to be able to recieve a bit more feedback as your piping along, if this video is intended for instructional purposes. Thanks for sharing your abilities.
I agree! This was my first Lambeth pipped cake tutorial (3, 4 yrs ago??) Since then, the tutorials themselves have gotten better. I am constantly thinking about how to improve my skills and videos, I appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching.
This video and all subsequent ones need verbal instructions and explanations of what you are doing, how and why. I just switch off my brain and the sound when repetitive musik is the only sound track. I'm sure it's not down to laziness on your part, but videos with only repetitive music sure give the impression you are. I enjoy watching your piping work, especially the string work, something I find really difficult. I've turned the cake up side down and placed the board and cake on top of a tin to help the pull of gravity. Unfortunately, sometimes gravity pull gets a bit too strong😂 Glad I'm not the only one to have gone to Amazon for cake dummies. I try to get a shape in all sizes, then I can use whatever shape I want to practice on prior to starting on the real thing. Do you use merriwhite or egg white for your royal icing. Could you do a video showing how you flat ice your cakes using royal icing? All important skills to learn.I Lots of questions and I hope one useful critique. Happy New Year, 2022.

Which do you find most challenging: Lambeth style over-piping or Australian bridge work?
Thanks for Asking Mrs. Young. I have found that over piping is more challenging, but bridge work more time consuming. Both are just amazing!! I love both!

Where's my plate?😋
Right when you need it too!
I have seen many Lambeth decoration, why need to have last strings over the laces? It seems better without that last string...:P
I think when I did this cake, I simply liked the idea of another string. This was one of my first EVER lambeth cake attempts.

Why don't you mention the No piping tip that you use when decorating
I'll keep that in mind for future tutorials. Thanks for your input.
