Nicholas Lebresco it feels so weird getting back into the motions after taking such a ling break lol. I had a six month break bc of rona and it was weird going back
Make sure to get down to the goal line to signal for goal kicks and corner kicks. Remember that as an assistant referee, we stay in line with the second to last defender (including the goalkeeper), or the ball; whichever is closest to the goal line.
There is an error in this video! For fouls, the flag should be in the left hand if foul made by attacker so they can signal left for the restart, and in the right hand if foul is made by defender so they can signal right for restart.
That’s not always the case, on one side of the sideline, yes, but on the other side of the field it’s flipped. Person A on the far sideline has the defender on the persons right side and person B has the defender in the opposite hand.
Thank you so much. I’m 13 and reffing my first game tommorow morning and I’m so scared. I’m going to be reffing with a 16, and 21 year old and I’m scared I’m going to blank, or forget what signal to use. This helps a ton
Since the team scoring must be legal, I notice that the video ignores the situation where a teammate of the scorer misbehaves. Wouldn't it be great if we could only say that if the scorer does something wrong, do the signal; if a teammate of the scorer does something wrong, stand at attention. Now, however, all we do is signal offside on the scorer and stand at attention if anything else is wrong with the goal
What should we do in the event i don't see who touched the ball out of bounds? Specially if it was either a corner or goal kick? It happended to me this weekend. The played occured to fast and far that couldnt make who touched it last?
One quick thing, He uses the Words “Assistant Referee” a lot. I am an Intermediate Referee and Hearing Assistant Referee bugs the heck out me. They are called ARs not Assistant Referees. Remember they are ARs
@@matteocarlini27 that's just your opinion and your preference. The full and proper term is Assistant Referee and AR is just a shortened term. They are the same thing.
Offside, goal kicks, and corner kicks are all signaled with the right hand. Check the FIFA Laws of the Game for the proper signals to verify for certain.
i’m a 15 year old and this helped my anxiety for my first game so thank you so much 🥴
I'm 13 and my first referee game is this weekend. Wish me luck 😅😅
Eva Li how did it go

I am 15 too and sadly we didn’t do the in person training do to rona and I am trying to find Assignor’s in my area.
ahhh im 16 and i have my first game todayyy im very nervous

So basically stay in line with the offsides line?
@@isac.2h yes. And make your signal once you are at the goal line
Everyone in the comment section saying they're about to ref their first game. I'm just here in case I find it useful later in life.
Being on the parent’s side for my first game was nerve wrecking. My uncle was giving me advice throughout Lol.
This helped SOOO much
I think I'm a professional ref now
The primary task of the assistant referee is to provide assistance to the referee lol

I’m so Nostalgic for those old uniforms.

Invest in the small details. Priceless!
Im 39 Year old father learning for the first matc, thanks
I haven’t reffed in like 2 years but tomorrow is my first ref game. Needed to make sure I knew how to do stuff hehe.
Yeah same here. Just good to get a refresher.
I have a question do inhouse references have to go to reference
Awesome video i have a question do referees have to go back to referee school after every season or no
Steve The legend yes every year they must take a recertification test
I think you can take the test online tho
For a recertification
Not entirely sure rho
Just a shorter online course

The team that scores has to be legal? Better check those green cards
Awesome video

Another Thing.
When Signaling for Offside, flag always stays in the left hand.
First ever reffing game tomorrow I’m 13 I’m pretty nervous thanks.
Heh
awesome HUGE help tks
He uses the Word Assistant Referee. Make sure you use the word AR because that’s What they are.
Thx this ver y helpful
Great video, thanks.
This helped some.
Great helps a lot !
Yeah it did
Hello guys
I'm a player and I thought the assistant ref only tells if the ball is in or out
Im an AR ant I thought the same thing
Stupid
Same lol
same exact thing here haha but now i’m reffing and i’m like dang this is so complicated😭
Muy interesante
quick question: is there a difference in signals for direct and indirect free kicks for assistant referees?
No, as far as I’m aware
No
So frickin helpfull
first game in 10 minutes
I love this
I agree
?
Hmm looks like you forgot to change accounts buddy.
This is what I watched at the school I took
I want to be a pro ref whats the odds of that.

AR is just an abbreviation of Assistant Referee?
@@jazzy3892 Yes I know but Hearing the words assistant referees bug me a lot. We have to use proper vocabulary.

Like I have said,
The Offside signal is Given with the Left hand. Never use the Right hand

AR uses their right hand to raise the flag for goal kick, corner kick, and offside, as to avoid your right arm blocking your view with the referee.
@@refereekieran8297Yeah I knew that. I was strictly speaking for Offside
@@refhead4290Yes. I signal Corner Kick with Right hand.
Maaaaaaaan, if only we had ref courses in my country but NOOOO. All we do here is pay
my first game is in 1 hour
Bro my game is today
Balls just kidding but for cereal balls
