  • In Episode 335 of Hidden Forces, Demetri Kofinas speaks with Marshall Kosloff. Marshall is the host of The Realignment and Arsenal of Democracy podcasts and is a media fellow at Hudson Institute.
Marshall and Demetri spend the first hour applying Marshall’s realignment framework to U.S. foreign policy in light of the recent developments in Israel and the potential for a destabilizing regional war with Iran. In the second hour, they discuss Artificial Intelligence (AI) and social media regulation, the 2024 election, and the risk that we may be sleepwalking into a new world war that would devastate the global economy and put people’s lives at risk in ways that we haven’t experienced since the late 1930s and 1940s.

Pretty wild how Marshall essentially finds himself with personal stock in both majors miltary conflicts going on in the world and surely wants massive US aid and involvement on all fronts.

Would it be possible for the US to let the people in those countries sort out their own business? Why must we meddle with them?

is this the same Marshall Kosloff who was recorded admitting to astroturfing and taking 50,000 to lie at protests?

I think your guest is highly contradictory, one the hand he rightly points out the problems of military solutions and their ability to even push to deeper quagmires, yet he also makes the case that a military solution is assumed highly possible in the context of Gaza without severe costs (perhaps political bias). Indeed the Palestinian issue has simply proven after 75 years that it needs political treatment. He also fails to state whether the US would or should go to war on behalf of Israel with Iran and the rest of its proxies. A possibility that emerges from Israel's current approach to Gaza. Hamas is different not necessarily because its unwilling to use terror, but simply because it has a wide support base in the Arab and islamic worlds.

Do you believe the empowered actors in Iran want to try to mobilize - and critically endanger - their economy for the sake of defending Hamas or another proxy? Is not the whole purpose of proxies to set them up, guide toward a target, and let them go once they go kinetic?
I would also suggest the speaker does not suggest that military attacks against Hamas are without severe cost. I think he has stated that the attacks on October 7, 2023, have already imparted severe costs on Israel, so there is drastically less incentive for Israel to not thoroughly respond to the military threat that has made itself an imminent existential threat to civilians.
Finally, if the "Arab world" as you put it actually broadly supports the war crimes committed on October 7, 2023, I hope they never have to be on the receiving end of a military that does not distinguish between civilian and military target. I have not seen Israel purposefully select a civilian party (celebration) in the desert, and then decide to systematically open fire on these nonmilitary, civilian individuals with zero strategic value. I have not seen Israel take unacceptable numbers of foreign citizens hostage for the sake of securing more negotiating power with international agents.
I appreciate your willingness to put out your interpretation/analysis on this matter. Although we disagree, I think we are united in our dislike for the violence that has broken out between people who otherwise might have moved towards greater prosocial cooperation.

Well, seeing as he just got busted for bragging about accepting $50,000 to infiltrate pro Palestine protests as an agent provocateur and was laughing about it on camera… Fuck this guy

Demetri I just found your podcast and checked out subscribing - you have fascinating people coming on to speak! But episode after episode you are not able to control yourself from pushing your own views over your distinguished speakers, exposing a deep bias and an embarrassing **lack of respect for your guests**. You speak over Marshall Kosloff over and over to put forth that Israel is not welcome in the region and is therefore the problem. You talk about Hamas as a victim. Your hunger for appeasement is frankly terrifying. Your need to repeat the false narrative of occupation is dangerous and uninformed, rendering your voice NOT TRUSTWORTHY.
You wasted the opportunity to become an engaging space for intelligent discourse by abusing your own platform.
