He worked in one of the roughest hardest Police Stations in Australia, and he won the respect of all of his hard working competent and dedicated colleagues. I recall him as a junior Constable who had worked a double shift (no overtime) to get the job done and he and his Senior Partner had to then do all the paperwork to ensure all the violent grubs they had locked up the night before for bashing people and random acts of violence against ordinary people just walking from a nice restaurant with family and the like were set upon by violent drunks and druggies and degenerates. I just hope and pray that the virtues and character I saw in him on more than one occasion, but one very memorable occasion for me 35 years ago proves he is still that same Leader and Protector as he was back then.
His "Integrity" and "values" went out the door , when he walked in through the doors of Parliment and he became the member of Dickson in 2001. Ever since then it's been offensive comments, falsehoods, misogynistic remarks, funding scandals, and being linked to shady deals. He has "character" alright, but not the sought of character or moral values that would make for a good leader.
