I applaud anyone who takes on a conversion such as yours. My 61 is a 4-door sedan flat top and would be a nightmare to convert without buying doors from a 2-door and possibly quarter panels. If I had a hardtop like yours, I wouldn't even consider changing it. Though I like the open window look, I've owned my 61 for 46 years and 252,000 miles without regret. Very nice work and thanks for sharing it. Another modification I've seen on a 61 was to put the front clip of a 62. For those who know 60's Chevy's, it's a head turner.
Sir perfect video I have a lot of cheeper 4 door cars by me and this is an option! Thanks for driving into this so it may make it a little easier for me..
I thought about doing this to my 63 4door Impala...But instead of all that welding and body work , I thought about buying 2 doors off a damaged 2door, then work around that on my 4door
I watched some conversions over the years and it always seems easier to get a 2dr install that and then just start cutting ? no rather than making 1 door from 2 ?
Yeah for sure. I just did it this way because I had 2 sets of 4dr front doors so I didn’t have to buy anything to build them. And I liked the challenge of seeing if I could do it. Thanks for watching!
Nothing, I’ve had many cool 4 doors over the years. I just enjoy the metal work and wanted to see if I had the skill to pull it off. It came out nice and is a lot of fun to drive.
I know the work involved to this type of conversion in my own opinion the only thing you are gonna get out of it is the experience after this type of conversion you can prety much will be able to do any sheet metal panel replacement on any classic car .
I love your ability to change a worthless 4dr into a 2dr , I would live to see a 4dr hardtop changed into a 2dr hardtop, the top overhang would be awesome
No special reason; I had two sets of front doors and was thinking about how you could section them together to make a longer door so I decided to give it a shot. More for the challenge of seeing if I could do it more than anything. Thanks for watching and commenting!
The metal on those old cars was thick enough to work with and not like the paper thin metal they use now? When the cars of today get that old nobody is going to do these conversions on them.
I Don't like 4 to two door conversions. What's so wrong with 4doors. They are lighter and when two door cars are made in the factory they make the frames stiffer witch is why they are heavier.
Each to his own. I didn’t build it because I just had to have a two door; I did it because I wanted to see if I had the skills to successfully do it. It’s a good feeling to start and complete a challenging project.
Wow. You sure didn't pick the easiest car to do a 4-to-2 door conversion on. Big props for jumping in with both feet and going for it.
Thanks, much appreciated!

Cool, thanks for watching and the comments! Nothing wrong with a 4 dr; I’ve had quite a few. Your 61 sounds like a nice ride.
I did a 4 to 2-door conversion on my 1965 Buick Special wagon. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I’d like to see that wagon.
I love watching and learning about doing body work on cars thank you sir for your vido
Cool, thanks for watching!
That’s a awesome 2 door conversion for the Chevrolet Impala the Beast body and top of the GM list of cars
Thanks for watching!

You have a lot of skills and talent.Great job.

Nice work. Glad the algorithm led me to you channel. Subscribed.
Cool, I appreciate you checking it out!
Nice job. Would like to see a mid 70s Chevrolet wagon turned into a nomad
Nothing but fun keep up the great work
Thanks!
Looking good , the rewards will be worth the effort.
Thanks! It’s pretty much done; been driving it for a while.
Looks like an interesting project.
im doing this now to my 60 may this shit hard to do but its getting there
Yeah it takes some thinking but it's a fun project. You have any videos of your 60 on UA-cam? I'd like to check in out.
@@Savinjunk i do but i havent started yet i want to get all the panels and the doors before i start
I want to build a 4 door mustang, this way i wont be so irritated every time i see a Mustang sedan for sale on the craigslist.
That would be awesome! Merge an old 4 dr Falcon and Stang together. Or an early 60s Ranchero with a Stang front clip would be cool, too.
Awesome video sir! I’m tuned in! Hopefully, I can get a car to you
Thanks for tuning in!
Good men good job my friend
Thanks!
Absolutely amazing
Thanks!

Definitely a good option. I just did it this way because I already had the parts car and wanted to see if I could pull it off.
Love this project
Right on, thanks for watching
I like it I just signed up
Thanks for watching!

What’s wrong with it being a 4 door

That’s pretty much it, Jose. It wasn’t because I just had to have a 2 door; I just wanted to see if I had the skills to pull it off.
why? I really wanted a 4-door Impala without a B-pillar 😢😢😢😢😢

Thanks for watching, Larry! I was cruising it around at the local car show last night.
Il do the other side team work
Right on, I’ll take you up on that on my next project
I guess there's not much 2 door cars left outthere!
They’re out there for the right price. This one I got in trade for some bodywork and paint on my buddy’s truck.
Very good.
Thanks!
Is this the one that's for sale on Facebook?
Yes
@@Savinjunk ok. Are you in Missouri?
@@WagsAutomotive yes; about 30 miles south of St. Louis

Car was cooler as a 4 door hardtop
Lol! Well, I disagree but thanks for watching!
Make it a convertible
Right on; probably need a donor convertible for that one.
👍
Has anyone out there turned a 64 Lincoln Continental 4 door convertible into a 2 door?
I don’t know but that would be a pretty cool idea. I always thought a 2dr version of the 91-96 Impala would look good, too.
Its going to look weird because of the shape of the four door roof.
I disagree. I’ve had it at several car shows and gotten a lot of compliments.
Why doesn't he just go buy a 2dr body the same year as that 4dr he would have all the 2dr stuff
Because I used what I had and didn’t have to buy another body. It wasn’t bad at all to do.
Question why did you want too turn the 61 into a two door ?
Your bother in Christ?

@@stevecrocker-gr4zz thanks!
Pops be talkin too much he need just smoke a blunt and cut it
Lol! No blunts for me! That’s funny, though. My youngest son calls me pops.

Yeah I’m building a custom from a 91 Chevy and the metal is definitely different.
WHY ON EARTH would you wanna change a Impala Sport Sedan into a 2-Door? ... Now, I ask you! ~~
I enjoy the metal work and wanted to see if I could do it. It came out pretty good; I finished it this spring and have been driving it all summer.
You and everyone else is ruining a great classic vehicle if that vehicle was supposed to be a two door it would have came from the factory a two door
Lol! So essentially every custom vehicle that has been modified from its original design is now “ruined.” Makes perfect sense. 🙄
or just buy a 2 door.
Nah, it takes zero skill to write a check.
Or look ahead a bit and see that four doors will end up being the more desirable and people will find it harder to go the other way...
@@oceansidemediaNZ never way would anyone want a four door they look terrible for a hot rods.

Four doors are ugly only good for parts cars or to make two doors.
@@terrencegiordan2775 depends on the car for me. I had a few 4 doors I liked and some that definitely needed the chop!
