I've lost too many people, whether by death, moving away, or just drifting apart. This song reminds me to move on, but remember who I was when they were with me.
I may be five years late to comment but I know how you felt. I too have had friends and family pass away, scatter across the United States and completely drift apart. It’s rough especially since while I was growing up until the age of 5 or 6 all my brother myself and our mother had was her side of the family because my biological father walked out of the picture before I was born. Even when I was adopted by my then stepdad and until I turned 14 I was always pretty close to my mom’s side of the family. All of that changed after my Nana(grandmother) passed away during the summer of my freshman year and with her loss the ties holding my mom’s side of the family came unraveled culminating in my papa, aunt and cousin moving to Tennessee after selling the house that I had spent a good portion of my life in. Now I’m 21 years old and my what family I do have contact with is my grandmother on my adoptive father’s side, my brother parents, occasionally my biological father through Facebook messenger and occasionally my half sister via text messages.
I don't have a great relationship with my parents so this song makes me hopeful for the future and that I will make something great out of life. thank you paradise fears for giving me the strength to live

I don't want to ever lose my Dad.. and although this song made me so afraid of that, its taught me to make the most of the time we have.. Such a beautiful song
it's silly, but i slept in my dad's room until i was like... eight or nine. now that he's sick, i look back and miss it. this song reminds me a lot of him and it brings me to tears every time.

This is literally the BEST song ever. Everything about it is just PERFECT. The melody, lyrics, Sam's voice.. Perfect, just perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better song. Oh, you guys. This song made me so emotional! My dad used to read to me every night too, and I just know those nights and those stories will be what I remember most when he's gone.

I'm 16 and my daddy died April 25th this year. I miss him a lot especially with it getting near the holidays. I'm a huge paradise fears fan so I'm not sure how I didn't see this before now but I'm glad I didn't because I need it now, I didn't need it before.
