    SUPER COOL ! PLEASED TO MEET YOU TEACHER TOM 🖒 that's exactly what I need to improve my pronunciation well I don't have a beautiful melodic British pronounciation but I'm proud of myself and my American pronunciation because I've been studying so hard by myself and from my opinion British or American both are GORGEOUS we must love our language it's our IDENTITY .

    Hi, I'm brazilian. How do you speak this "When we was teenagers" It looks like tongue twister (When we was...) If I wanted speak fast, how would be it? I have seen it in music.

      Bon dia!
      Thanks for the comment. I recommend typing 'when we was' into youglish.com and listening to other people saying it. try to mimic their pronunciation and really notice the position of your lips, tongue, mouth etc.
      I hope that helps

    I saw this sentence “idea or overview” do you pronounce as “idear ro roverview”?

    • @EnglishpronunciationwithTom
      @EnglishpronunciationwithTom  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for watching and watching.
      For me, there is an intrusive /r/ between idea and or, and or and overview.
      Some Americans and some other accents pronounce the /r/ at the end of ‘or’ so in that case it would be consonant to vowel linking, not intrusion.
      I hope that makes sense

      @@EnglishpronunciationwithTomthanks Tom would you able to write down pronunciation example? because I kind of find hard to pronounce it and it sounds a bit strange….
      Also another example “Banana or orange”
      For me I find to pronounce the “o” sound after “or”
      I wish I can hear the actual pronunciation 😢 google translate is too fast for me haha

      @@Katy38316 no problem. Check my video on intrusive /r/. It gives lots of examples and the difference between British and American English. m.ua-cam.com/video/y4ljaHpyYhY/v-deo.html&pp=iAQB
      I hope it can give you some good examples to listen to

    American English?

    • @EnglishpronunciationwithTom
      @EnglishpronunciationwithTom  6 місяців тому +3

      @@IvanMontesino-qc4zz good question. Americans often pronounce the /r/ sound so there isn’t an intrusive /r/ in American English.
      I explain it in this video ua-cam.com/video/y4ljaHpyYhY/v-deo.htmlsi=tTyufkmiMh6ZqmT4
