Your daughter is always a good helper. I am glad to see you put some good use to a old sock.

I have a small 480 watt system that I really need to install in my tiny house for this coming winter... This is a good video for me to watch and learn... Like so many of your videos. Like the poly tunnel that was snowed on, collapsed but didn't break... I have those plans in my head from then. This year I'm hoping to build it

Looks good im couroilus on how it will handle the snow load only having the single post. But hay if it doesnt survive the winter its easyey enough to replace. Great job on it using scrap laying around

So first you try a wind turbine in a spot with no wind. Now you setup solar panels in the shade. Interesting choices 🙂

I like to keep life interesting:) there is plenty of sun there for what I need but I do need to cut down some trees for the garden anyway.

I give him a 👍 for being able to back-up that wagon 😮 looks like a pretty place :-).

I only live about 25 miles from you, so I know what you mean about the wind. Are you sure that 1 brace will be enough? You might want to consider making a couple more with some 1-inch EMT. If this project works well enough, you might want to upgrade the mount to one that tracks the sun.

Hey Todd, if you haven’t already completed the project with the extra bracing. I thought I might offer a different suggestion of my own.
Would it be easier and more stable if you buried a short 4x4 on the front of each corner and put a lag bolt in from the metal side into the 4x4.
That seems like it was be a pretty easy fix and extremely stable. Rather than depending on the 1 single 4x4 in the center to withstand the twisting and turning that the wind will have on it.
Just a thought. Great video! Thanks!

I thought about that also, I may do something like that if it starts to get loose
