This is a genuinely spectacular performance of arguably Kapustin greatest set of piano music. Finally, a performer who is bringing the tempi down to earth and allowing the music to breathe. The Reverie is the best I’ve heard, as is Reminiscence. How someone can play all eight of these harmonically dense pieces consecutively without break is hard to fathom. I just hope that I can play them all individually with some degree of competence eventually. Thank you for the hard work you put into this extraordinary performance.
I really like how you took time in these etudes, especially the more moderate/slower ones. Listeners are likely more familiar with Kapustin's recording of his own etudes, many of them fast and virtuosic, but your interpretation brings out another side to them.
