This is a good video and to add more to this gods rest is the original purpose that God had for mankind and the earth after it was created. Adam and eve lost this rest because of disobedience. The Christian hebrews were teetering and lacking in spiritual maturity which was leading them away from God's rest and promise. Hebrews 4 where this discussion of rest originates from is a warning and reminder that we can't go back to old ways and bot move forward in spiritual maturity and accept Jesus as the ultimate messiah and that only Jesus and spiritual maturity and obedience do we have the chance to come into God's rest which is mankind living in a paradise and accepting God's sovereignty by doing so they will enter and stay in gods rest and original purpose for mankind.
The work is sin, the rest in Christ. Those who love sin in their hearts but and hear the good news of Jesus and do not act on it, God will Barr from His rest. So the Rest is Believing God's Word, obeying His Word and Living God's Word. Then God's rest will be a deep peace and contentment through the storms of life.
Sabbath rest is in Hebrews 4:9. "There remaineth therefore a rest (Greek word Sabbathtismos -means a keeping of the 7th day Sabbath) to the people of God."

Your rest is in His rest. Just like it says, “have the faith OF God.” They are both gifts and given freely. God’s rest is deeper, ever persistent, and more refreshing than what our human rest is, you can trust that God has your back and us with you which is the core of what rest is.
Hope that helps (despite being 2 years late). This is my growing understanding of God’s rest vs our rest and so far I am finding it better. God bless, mate
@@gideonmele1556also to add onto Gideon, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.“ John 15:5 NIV So as people who believe in Jesus, God calls us to remain/abide in him so logically following, we automatically enter into his rest if we are remaining in him. Also that whole hebrews 4 chapter is pretty good at explaining it all. Pretty much saying if you don’t want to enter Gods rest then you don’t enter his rest that’s your own will and choice lol. E.g. if you don’t want to walk through the door of your own home you can’t enter your home.. because you’re not going inside, you’ll just be outside doing whatever.
He doesn't answer the question that people really need to know. Jesus said that his yoke is easy, as opposed to living under the Mosaic law. However, those who believe in Christ are still told to avoid doing many things, and to do many other things. Explain how that isn't living under a law, or working for salvation. This is the main question that Christians need to understand.
If one is in God's rest, they will demonstrate that by physically resting on the Seventh Day Sabbath. That's what Hebrews teaches. For more information, please see our video entitled: _Video 7: Un-twisting Hebrews 4 (Jesus is Not Your Sabbath Rest)_
Be careful on the Judaizing, we aren’t saved by the law of Moses and whether a specific day is a day of rest or not (seventh or eighth/first day such as in Acts 20:7), remember that “the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath” as Christ says in Mark 2:27. I think it is similar to 1 Corinthians 8:9-13 or Romans 14 in regards to certain days. If it is of your convictions, understandable but be careful. God bless
@@gideonmele1556 Shalom. Sabbath keepers aren't Judaizers (those who teach salvation by works), any more than those who keep the rest of the TEN Commandments.
